The branches and clouds served as a cape for our plan as shadows were practically everywhere.
"If you had to choose between your girlfriend and me… and we were both severely injured… who would you choose?"
The silence was deafening, and even the small breeze was unable to wake us up from our almost insignificant trance.
"Definitely you," She replied with a wide smile.
I couldn't suppress my smile either as we both stared up at the sky.

(Tiana POV)
"There they go," I muttered as I saw the adventurers hold their own against the waves of dark elves and massive fire giants who crushed towns with a single step.
The cries of slaughter and mayhem ran throughout the air and lingered in our chest as a bad premonition of the day which had just started.
At exactly twelve AM… in the morning… the first fire giant crushed a house, and the adventurers who were on stand by the alerted the guilds, signaling for everybody to come out of their camps and help fight back.
There was one single S-rank who was able to hold up the foot of a giant, but nobody was able to finish them off. But I had leaked some information just a few hours ago.
"Let's see if it gets to them," I muttered with a smile, but not even a few seconds after, rouges and assassins began to wind up the fire giant massive leg.
They coated their feet with an impenetrable wind, which allowed them to step on the to step on the hot skin of the giant.
It was a massive-scale battle but this single move which allowed them to reach the fire giants' nape and then slice up into their skull… was the start of a pushback.
A large warrior jumped up and smashed their first against the fire giant's skull, sending it flying back into the opposing army.
Hundreds upon hundreds of enemies were squashed, but none of the surrounding monsters were phased as they continued to slaughter the backup army and adventurers who still didn't give up.
"*sigh*... Alright… If you don't make a move until we begin to overwhelm them, then I'll make the first move," I muttered before stepping onto the front lines and biting the tip of my thumb.
From there, a bit of blood drew, and I dragged the blood across my forehead, causing the artifact that I had absorbed to appear as a rune on my forehead.
Tons of adventures stepped away from me, feeling my overflowing power, but even they weren't able to fully escape the burst of ice that exploded from my feet, encasing houses and dark elves in thick chunks of frozen water.
"Artifact of the Tundra Snake's Progenitor… Lend me your power and I shall set your will free," I muttered to myself, and all of a sudden, the scales on my body began to rapidly spread like a dangerous virus attempting to take over my body.
But, that wasn't the only change as my pupils began to grow darker and darker until they hit a pitch-black form.
My ribs began to sprout from my back, creating the frame of a pair of draconic wings which soon obtained an icy coating that allowed me to create blasts of wind.
With each flap of these newly formed wings, a blast of wind would shoot it out and take down a few dark elves in the process.
My ice had turned a deep-dark blue, like the depths of the ocean, and when they sprouted from my hand like blooming flowers, it was almost impossible to contain its power… so I let the power rage freely.
But, the main attraction would definitely have to be my ability to fly with these new draconic wings, allowing me to reach the tops of fire giants with ease.
I gathered a blast of icy energy in my hand, and when I shot it towards the skull of the fire giant, it ripped through the outer layer and tore open its core.
"So you finally made a move," I muttered as the strategy which allowed us to kill four or so fire giants was suddenly halted by an undead dragon that flew near the heads of each fire giant.
And with the fire resistance of the fire giants, they weren't affected by the powerful black flames that shot from the dragon's mouth.
Our rouges and assassins were burned down like bugs, so our plan halted, and we soon retreated back to the ground, taking out as many dark elves as we could before attempting to kill the fire giants.
"Ugh… Lucy~ could use some help anytime now," I muttered, clasping my hands together and creating another shockwave of ice which took down a few hundred more dark elves.
But it seemed I wasn't going to be able to run anymore wild as a warrior of darkness appeared before me, lathered in dark flames that seemed to eat away at the existence itself.
"You look like you're having fun," The dark elf muttered before spinning his lance around and then striking the end of it into the ground.
"Is this chivalry, or are you just looking down on me?"
"How about both,"
