The Rise of Quetzalcoatl

Chapter 265: Answers and Fun

I guess my regeneration needs stamina and mana to work properly… I guess that's a fair trade-off for such a powerful skill.

"Oh yeah, Lucy… about what you said earlier… are you serious about it? Do you really want to have a child?"

"Yeah, why?"

Mia looked a bit shocked at my blatant stare, but it then turned to a chuckle once again as she grabbed my hand and twirled me in the middle of the hallway.

"If that is what you want, we can make a baby instead of adopting one… but first, allow me to explain everything that we have been through,"

"Huh? How the hell are we supposed to do that?" I chuckled, but it seemed Mia wasn't kidding as she warmly smiled before leading me to the dining room.

I took a quick peak outside and noticed we were back in the capital of the dukedom, inside one of the few houses that were lined up against the main street.

It was relatively small, but enough for everybody to stay in temporarily.

"Now… What do you want to know first?" Mia asked while making me a cup of coffee with lots of creamers, just how I like it.

"Well, what happened after I disappeared? Did you attempt to look for me?"

"Yeah, you, Asta, and Nell. Nell and Asta were eventually found back in that underground place where Sophia was running. And that's a whole other story, but we initially started searching for you. I was under tons of stress because I thought I would never see you again, but eventually, after strutting through a dungeon one day to help release some of my stress, I was approached by an intelligent monster. She was a fortune teller and told me that you were inside of a dungeon, locked far away… and guess what. This place here is an undiscovered Z-rank dungeon,"

"Huh? Z-rank? Isn't that supposed to be higher than an S-rank?"

"Well, not in terms of power, but due to its diversity and intelligence. It can not only create miniature portals, which we assumed you were sucked into, but also hide itself very well. If it wasn't for the help of the fortune teller, I probably wouldn't have found you,"

"Who was this fortune teller?"

"Well… I actually can't talk about that,"

"Why not?"

"It's part of the deal for obtaining this information. I'm sure I'll be able to tell you later on but are there any other questions? Curious about how much I missed you?" She asked before placing the cup of coffee in front of me.

"Why haven't you kissed me yet? I've been waiting,"

"Oh, haven't you become quite bold over these past few years…" Mia smirked before leaning over me and cupping my chin with her fingers.

My breath began to turn rapid as she slowly approached my lips with her very own lips.

I could feel her minty fresh breath graze across my face, and I slowly closed my eyes, ready to receive a light peck, but she suddenly dodged my lips last second and kissed right above it.

"H-Huh? Why?"

"I wouldn't be able to stop myself if I kissed you right now. We have some things to do before we exhaust ourselves in bed, right?"

I pouted slightly, but Mia still held firm and just patted my head as I slowly sipped on my coffee, disappointed that I wouldn't be able to have a kiss until the end of the day.

Knowing what we were already going to do, I couldn't help but let out a little sigh as doing charity work wasn't my favorite.

Soon, we left our tiny house and were greeted by Clio and Ethel, who had decided to help us out already.

"You all seem pretty acclimated to this place? Is it part of your evolution to adapt so fast or what?" I chuckled, and the trio all glanced at each other with a confused but suddenly giggly expression.

"We've already been here for a few days now," Clio lightly chuckled, and I cocked my head to the side, confused as shit… until the realization hit me.

"Ummm… how long was I out for?"

"Four and a half days," Ethel replied before ruffling my long and unattended to hair.

It had grown out all the way to my waist again, just like when I was in high school, living with my mom like bums.

"Hmmm… Do you know what would look good on you now? Before, the short hair was a good idea since you had such an innocent and cute face, but now you look more mature and a bit scary, so… how does a wolf cut sound?" Ethel asked as she pulled the few strands hanging in my face to the side.

"Once we've done everything for the day," I muttered.

"Of course," Ethel smiled and ruffled my hair once more.

As snow began to fall from the pitch black sky, we exited the barbershop, all three of the women surrounding me jumping up and down with excitement.

"That looks better. Now you look more fierce since your hair isn't tied behind your head," Clio ruffled my hair, and I was practically fed up with it, so I quickly pushed her hand away and gave her a long and hard stare.

"Stop touching my hair. I don't want to ruin how good it looks now,"

"Oh, that snarl is so cute," Clio chuckled before attempting to pinch my cheeks, but I swatted her hand away once again.

All three of them couldn't stop laughing as we walked down the snowy street, eventually passing by a familiar alleyway illuminated only slightly by a dim street light.

"Y'all wanna party? Down there is a massive underground club with all kinds of things to do… or, shall we have a peaceful dinner?"

"Fuck a peaceful dinner. Let's party!" Clio shouted but was instantly stopped by the two bouncers who stood massively in front of the door.

"Name?" One of them asked, and I quickly stepped in.

"Don't go bullshitting us. Let us through… we got money. We're not just a bunch of hookers who are looking for a place to sleep,"

"Hm… Welcome," They both said before stepping to the side and allowing all of us through, with all three of the women around me giggling to themselves.

I didn't mind it at first, but as we went down the long ass stairs and their voices began to echo, I brought it up.

"Are you all going to keep giggling, or are you going to tell me what's up?"

"You're so mature now. Leading an entire army and standing up for your big sisters… makes me so proud," Ethel muttered while wiping away a non-existent tear.

"Uh huh… anyway, we're here,"

OONCE OONCE OONCE OONCE OONCE OONCE OONCE OONCE OONCE OONCE OONCE OONCE OONCE OONCE OONCE OONCE OONCE OONCE OONCE OONCE

The pounding bass of the music began to vibrate our chests, and we all quickly dove into the fun, partaking in various alcoholic activities.

We were having the time of our lives but were eventually split up by the massive crowd, leaving me to puke into the trashcan by myself.

"Ugh… My head…" I muttered as I slowly began to sober up again, and it was just in time as I felt a sweaty hand grip my arm.

I quickly turned my head around and went to punch whoever grabbed me, but it was quickly caught by a familiar face who had an enticing little smile.

"Babe, let's get going," Mia stumbled over to me, her grip so strong that I was just barely able to tear her hand off with my natural raw strength.

"Where are the others?"

"I-I don't know… Let's go," Mia muttered, clearly very drunk to the point that she puked all over the floor.

And just as we began to get people yelling at us, I made sure to quickly take her out of the underground club and let her have some of the crisp and cold nightly winter air.

As snow began to lightly fall from the sky, we walked back to our house, which was pre-warmed for our arrival… and boy, oh boy, was I exhausted and annoyed.

"You all left without us?" I asked Ethel, who was lying on the carpet, a drunk and miserable mess as she continued to beg for Athena, who obviously wasn't here.

Clio, on the other hand, was found on the toilet, passed out with her hair nearly dipping into the concoction of puke and toilet water… making me almost throw up as well, so I guess it was my job to clean everything up.

It took at least an hour to get everybody to take a shower and brush their teeth, but once everybody had been tucked in, I closed to the blinds to Mia's and my own personal room, a single lamp illuminating the room.

I twirled her hair in my hand as I stroked her soft face, smiling to myself as her sleeping face was too cute.

And once I had absorbed enough Mia energy for the day, I kissed her on the lips and dimmed the light for when Mia would inevitably wake up in the middle of the night.

It was a common occurrence for when we started drinking, and I even left out a glass of water, perfect for when she was parched.

"Babe…"

But, it seemed she wasn't done with the night yet.
