"What the hell?" I muttered, but before I could watch it any longer, I found myself getting tossed into the shower with a bottle of shampoo, a bottle of conditioner, and a bottle of body wash being tossed onto me. "Can't you be gentler to your princess!?"

"If you need help, please call for us, but for now, wash up. You stink."

"Yes, I know!" I shouted back, withdrawing the urge to storm out of the warm shower and knock some respect into my maids.

But I knew if I did that, I would be countered instantly… and well, I didn't feel like getting severely injured.

As I stared up at the annoying quest, I was interrupted by the appearance of my maid of death, who seemingly popped into existence beside me.

"Excuse my intrusion, but we have delivered the message. Is there anything else you would like me to tell her, or is that it?"

"Just tell her I'll be visiting soon to pick up something…."

"As you wish…." The maid bowed but refused to leave just yet. "Mistress, is there something on your mind?"

"There is… do you know of a figure called the Goddess of Taboo?"

The woman's eyes widened, showing more emotion at these few words than anything else we had ever gone through previously.

"I do, but how do you know of her? Don't tell me she contacted your mother…."

"She contacted me directly through underhanded means, so now I'm in a bit of a troubling situation. If it wasn't for her kindness… I would have been killed."

"I-In exchange for what, if I may ask? Normally that woman is impossible to bargain with… being the ruler of all gods."

"Well, I'm her servant now. Nothing I could have done there, but almost everything on my checklist that I must do for her were things I was already planning on doing. I just need to retrieve some shards of hers and clear out the heroes on this earth."

"I-I see… if you are stressed, I can give you a massage. You haven't had one in a while."

"There is no need. I'm not all that stressed since even though I was practically mentally tortured by that goddess, I did get to meet my mother and even my father. They're both amazing people and… I don't know, I'm just so happy. I hope I can meet them again soon."

"I'm happy for you, Mistress. Now, please excuse me,"

As the maid disappeared, I looked over at my assistant, who had been waiting at the doorway for me this entire time.

"What is it Kimi? Have we finally gathered all the materials distributed by the emperor?"

"Unfortunately, we are still transporting the materials. It's taking a bit longer than expected due to the lack of teleportation access… Are you sure you wish to still transport them physically?"

"How many times do I have to confirm to you… yes! Now if that is all you came here for, then leave!" I shouted, annoyed by the relentless complaints of this assistant of mine.

I knew she wanted the best for Tolf and me, but she had absolutely no patience when it came to managing things. That's not to say she's bad at it since she is my manager, after all, but whenever she can't use the most efficient and effective way, she gets really annoying.

"I apologize… but that is not all I came here for. I came to tell you that Kuza has organized Tolf's yearly meeting. It's about time you discuss the rest of your plans with them in person."

"And when is it?"

"The day after tomorrow."

"Shit… he picked a day I'm free… ugh… I'm assuming that's when everybody else is free as well, right?"

"Yes. Of course, if you are displeased with this date, I can argue for a pushback, although the assistants of the other leaders might hate you a bit. I talked with a few and heard that they were going to try and force the boss to follow through, so…."

"Oh, are you blackmailing me now?" I jokingly chuckled, and as the woman lightly smiled, she took a bow before leaving. "It's been a while since I've seen some of the girls. I hope I can meet some of their children…."

Before, I was just running on fumes, forcing myself to go on and on whilst pushing all of my mental exhaustion away, but upon relaxing for just a bit with my parents, I felt completely refreshed.

Looking at the description once again, I realized the image built up within the world that is not only taught to the younger generation but is imprinted into, the older generation was fake.

Everything these heroes had built up about themselves was completely fake. I had been fooled by their outward appearance, and I was a fool to even believe them for just a second.

"Although… that light hero did seem a bit different."

He definitely had split personalities, but one of them seemed kind of innocent like he wasn't the horrible and dark angel the goddess of taboos described.

I first needed to confirm it… of course, after completing this quest, though.

"A slave business… how unoriginal," I smiled, turning over on my bed and grabbing a tablet from my nightstand.
