"Oops… forgot to warn you about that," Mama chuckled, rubbing my back slightly. But this only made me want to throw up even more than before, so I quickly brushed her hand away. Ruining the beautiful marble floor that was the first thing I saw would've been extraordinarily disrespectful and a bit rude since it looked as if it was just freshly polished.
Once I had finished my little session of continuously pushing nausea back down, I looked up and saw a grand hall of shining jewelry. It was made from sparkling marble that created high pillars holding up a ceiling so high that it almost seemed to be the sky. And what surprised me even more, apart from its towering heights, was its pitch black yet sparkling and starry pattern which stretched across the ceiling. This only enhanced the universal-like sight, which drew me to its beautiful pattern in the first place.
The walls were glistening and littered with all kinds of gems and geometric shapes carved into the marble walls. They were far from us but not too far to make this seem like we were standing in heaven, but instead, the grand hall of a god-like kingdom, like the hall of a giant race at the very pinnacle of existence itself. It was beautiful.
"Sweetie, stop gawking and get over here," Mother called out to me, gesturing for me to come over. And just as I looked to my side, searching for Mama, I noticed she wasn't there, already sitting down at the circular black table made from the same material as the ceiling. But this time, it wasn't dotted with gems to make it seem like the deep night sky, but instead, long white lines that were then encrusted with jewels.
"That's a bit over the top…" I murmured before running over to Mother.
Standing right beside Mother, who sat down at one of the seats, I noticed all of the seats were empty besides both of my moms. And as we waited, Mother gestured for me to come closer to her, so I took a few steps forward, only to be met with a kiss on my cheek. I lightly blushed as she caught me off guard, and as I slowly backed up to behind the chair, I noticed the portal not too far from me groan once again.
From it, two women with long blue hair stepped through, with another woman with long yellow hair immediately darting around them. She had a playful smile on her face, and the white pupils in the dark sclera of her eyes jolted like lightning. Sparks even began to fly off of her as she sat down on one of the seats, staring Mama down, who was just texting on her phone.
"You two seem to have quite the dirty relationship now. If you ever need me to adopt your daughter, then I'll gladly volunteer," Auntie Electra smiled, electricity shooting from her now glowing hair. She was like an eel, sparkling with threatening bolts of lightning, and upon being touched by her sister, the taller woman with blue hair, she shivered ever so slightly. "Don't catch me off guard like that."
As the woman removed her hand from Auntie Electra's head, my other aunts sat down at the table, one being a being I had never met in my life before. But to start, Auntie Ethel was as beautiful as always. And even now, she seemed to still be evolving and growing stronger with each passing day.
Slowly, two leathery blue wings unfurled from her back, slowly flapping as she crossed her arms and legs. Her long silky ocean-blue hair sparkled like that of a coral reef. And those mature and understanding eyes of hers proceeded to scrape me in tandem with a welcoming smile. Her pale skin shimmered as if reflecting the light above, and the most intriguing part of her would have had to be those massive horns of hers.
Two pokey and long pieces of coral protruded from the woman's forehead, displaying a sign of power that would cause anybody to bend at the knee for her. It made her look elegant, and her long shining white dress of hers complemented her beauty even further. A goddess. She was a goddess amongst us mortals. And I just couldn't help but stare.
"Honey, if you're going to keep looking at me, you're going to make me embarrassed," Auntie Ethel continued to smile. Her words snapped me out of my slight trance, and as Auntie Electra curled up, bringing her phone to her face and scrunching up the casual clothes she had on, I noticed the final sister awkwardly adjust in her seat.
To be honest, the variety of clothing and designs here almost made it seem like a sporadic fashion runway. Auntie Ethel was wearing something fit only for a goddess whilst Auntie Electra wore something more casual, a baggy sweatshirt and baggy cargos. They fit well together, especially when paired with some headphones that she placed over the hood… muah. It was a delectable sight to see, putting me a bit to shame. I was still in my pajamas as my moms said it didn't really matter, but upon looking at the final sister, I slowly began to curse myself for listening to the woman who was agitated all morning.
Auntie Nuala. She was a woman I had yet to meet, but have heard much about her scientific discoveries. I know very little about her own powers, although the achievements she has made in the scientific community easily put her at the top of the list of Tolf members. I mean, she was the one who discovered and harnessed the power of the portal we used to arrive in this unknown location.
Her long blue hair was a shade of light turquoise, and when paired with her pale skin, it was easy to notice the fair amount of freckles she had dotted across her face. It complemented her gentle appearance perfectly… if it wasn't for the suit that she was wearing. She was dripped out from head to toe in jewelry, creating an almost business-casual look that immediately caused me to gawk at the woman. On top of that, her ability to use makeup was flawless, as she still highlighted her freckles. She wasn't ashamed of them in the slightest.
"Damn, you came prepared," Mother smirked, glancing over at Auntie Nuala, who just shrugged as a reply. It was a simple gesture, but the two almost seemed to connect better than Mother with her own wife, making Mama just a bit jealous. "Also, it seems you didn't bring Reyna. You know we don't mind her being here. She's essentially another member of Tolf… I mean, she's already on the head council, so why not bring her with you?"
As Mother turned towards Auntie Ethel, asking her why she didn't bring her girlfriend, the portal behind us rippled once more, allowing two darker figures to walk into the grand hall of hopes, dreams, and conviction to dominate the world.
"She had to deal with something… anyways, I feel like we overprepared in terms of our clothing," Ethel lightly chuckled upon seeing the two Egyptians pull up in casual summer outfits. I mean, it was fitting for where they ruled their city from, but I wouldn't say it was the warmest in this massive hall.
Auntie Celestine, the woman who had given me the godly shard, got the stank eye from my mom as soon as she walked in. Her brown skin with black tattoos running up her face and down her neck was then covered by a tropical shirt colored in with tropical trees. She also wore very high short shorts that allowed us to see a bit too much of her thighs, but also the remaining black tattoos that crawled all the way down to her feet. Speaking of her feet, she had simple sandals on.
Now, the tattoos were pretty cool, but what I thought was the coolest part of her was not only the jewelry littering her body but also her braided hair that dripped all the way down to her waist. It was beautifully done, and the way she incorporated even more jewelry into each strand made her look like some kind of Egyptian goddess. She was graceful, beautiful, and collected… unlike her sister, who greeted us with a shout.
"Hey, hey, hey! What's up, everybody! It's been a while, hasn't it!?" The woman exclaimed, running over to the table and immediately sitting down in her chair. Auntie Celestine proceeded to sit right next to her, greeting Auntie Electra, who sat right beside her.
Auntie Clio was probably the most extroverted of the group if that wasn't very obvious. But on top of being a master at socializing, she was extremely powerful. And just like her sister, she had braided black hair and flawless chocolate brown skin, but this time, her tattoos were golden, shimmering in the light showering down from above.
