"Tsk… stop showing me this… I'm sick and tired of it…"

The meeting soon ended. Simple enough, but the outcome caused a bit of tension in our group. Not everybody was truly willing to follow through with everything that was brought up since the risk was insanely high. Yet, after a few hours of convincing, everybody was at least the slightest bit confident in our plan.

"Do you seriously think we can take down the Monster Paradise?" Mia asked as she brought me a piping hot cup of coffee.

"Yeah… Why are you so unconfident? You were the hardest one to convince during the meeting," I replied just as she sat down on a small wooden stool across my office table.

"Let me expand my question then. Do you seriously think we can take down the Monster Paradise without any sacrifices?"

"Of course not. Many of the men and women we have trained up with the help of Aria and Amanda will be bound to die… but they're necessary sacrifices to achieve our goals. They were raised for the sake of being our pawns, so don't tell me you're pitying them now?"

"*sigh*... Okay, whatever. But after we win, I'm scared. Gods are watching us from every corner of this world, so what do you think will happen after we win? Will they reshape our world? Will they purge us for practically winning at everything?"

"Oh, the Great Reset? Is that what you're talking about?"

The Great Reset. A term that came to mind when me and Nuala were doing our experiments on portal travel and such across dimensions. But, it clearly wasn't something new as something like that had been floating around for quite some time now without any actual raw evidence… until we witnessed it.

A dimension filled with nothing but an endless void. Stepping into it caused one of our brave researchers to plummet endlessly until he died of the insane forces of gravity unaffected by wind resistance or drag.

At first, we thought these were just the properties of the dimension. I mean, there was nothing disproving it, or so we thought. Only a few weeks later we discovered another dimension filled with nothing but an endless void. Okay, maybe a coincidence but surely it can't happen again… and it did. Multiple times.

"Mhm…" Mia sighed, grabbing the small wooden framed photo of our daughter sitting atop my desk. She smiled gently as she looked into the frozen eyes of Ada who had such a large smile on her face you would think her skin was about to tear.

"That won't happen. As long as they continue to see us as entertainment, they won't be getting rid of us. In fact, I'm sure they're excited to see a large change in the world… Think of a new season of your favorite show."

"Fine, I guess I should stop worrying about such silly things."

"Yeah, let's focus on our future before anything else," I muttered, taking a sip of my coffee and looking down at my tablet. A notification popped up and when I clicked on it, I saw that checklist of preparations had finally been filled out. Each and every single one had a small green check mark next to them. "Alright, let's get going."
