The Rise of Quetzalcoatl

Chapter 654: The Final Battle (17)

Suddenly, the distant rumble of another ship landing in the palace backyard echoed through the quiet, and within minutes, the door to their room crashed open. Mia burst in, her eyes red and swollen from crying. The moment she saw Lucy comforting Ada, her face softened into a smile, tears welling up once more.

Without a word, Mia crossed the room and climbed into bed with them, wrapping her arms around both Lucy and Ada. Ada turned and buried her face in Mia's chest, sobbing once again, her voice trembling as she repeated, "I was so worried about you both... I was so scared I'd lose you both."

Mia kissed the top of Ada's head, her hand gently rubbing her back, as she whispered soothing words. "We're here. We're safe, Ada. You're safe."

Lucy, her arms still holding them both, nodded through her own tears. "We're here, Ada. We're not going anywhere."

The three of them stayed there, curled together in a warm, protective embrace, the weight of their fears and anxieties slowly melting away as they found comfort in one another.

The goddess stood motionless in the center of the crater, her onyx eyes tracking the fleeing aircraft as it carried away Tolf's army. They meant nothing to her—all except Lucy. Her gaze flickered with a passing interest, but soon her attention was drawn to something far more pressing. She looked skyward, her expression unreadable, as a sudden beam of light shot down from the heavens.

The attack was powerful, intense—a blinding ray that tore through the atmosphere with the force of a nuclear explosion. The air crackled with raw energy as it descended toward her, but the goddess remained unfazed. With a casual flick of her wrist, she swatted the beam away like a mere annoyance, her fingers barely moving. The deflected light veered off course and slammed into the side of the crater, detonating with the force of a nuclear explosion.

A blinding flash lit up the landscape, followed by a deafening roar as the shockwave tore through the surroundings, disintegrating everything in its path. Yet, the goddess stood there, untouched, the explosion gnawing away at the earth around her, cratering the land into nothingness, but not daring to touch her.

She let out a soft sigh, raising her hands to her neck and cracking it to the side. The sound echoed unnaturally loud over the chaos, her body loosening up as if she had just woken from a long nap. The blast, the destruction—it was nothing to her. With a slow, deliberate motion, she waved her hand in a wide semi-circle. The dust, debris, and smoke that choked the air vanished in an instant, swept away as if they had never been.

Now free of obstruction, her gaze shifted upward. She blinked once and vanished, teleporting instantly above the clouds. The stars spread out before her, the atmosphere thinning until only the vastness of space remained. She hovered there, her wings unfurled, and her piercing gaze locked onto the universe itself.

She stared, unblinking, past the stars, past the celestial bodies that made up the current solar system, her eyes traveling to the very edge of the universe. And there, just beyond the boundaries of existence, she saw it.

The malformed entity loomed in the infinite blackness, a colossal mass of writhing, pulsating chaos. It was a living paradox, its form defying all logic and understanding, never settling for more than a heartbeat before shifting into something even more grotesque and unimaginable. One moment, it was a tangled web of wriggling tendrils, each one snaking through the void with an eerie sentience. These tendrils twisted and coiled upon themselves, intertwining like a labyrinthine knot, their surfaces slick with an otherworldly sheen, dripping a substance that seemed to evaporate into the emptiness.

Then, without warning, the tendrils collapsed into themselves, merging and expanding into a gaping maw—a mouth that seemed to stretch on forever, lined with countless rows of jagged, razor-sharp teeth. The teeth clattered and ground together with a sound that resonated across the fabric of space itself, a nightmarish grinding that sent shockwaves rippling through the cosmos. The maw seemed to yawn hungrily, as if devouring the very concept of light and sound, pulling the surrounding void toward it.

In the next instant, the maw dissolved, replaced by a seething ocean of eyes—an impossible multitude, blinking in perfect unison. These eyes, unblinking and cold, saw everything and nothing, staring into the heart of the universe as though their gaze alone could unweave the strands of existence. Some of the eyes were massive, as large as planets, while others were small and darting, flickering around the edges of the entity's chaotic form. And yet, no matter how different their size or shape, they all radiated a profound and unsettling knowledge—a gaze that could drive even the bravest of minds to insanity.

The colors bleeding from the entity were wrong, hues that didn't belong in any known spectrum. They warped space and time as they bled from its form, creating ripples of distortion that bent the very fabric of reality. Pinks that vibrated like an open wound, greens that shimmered like molten glass, and blacks so deep they seemed to suck in everything around them. The colors flickered and twisted, blending in ways that defied understanding, creating an aura of pure instability around the being. Space and time rippled violently as the entity's chaotic presence pushed against the boundaries of reality, threatening to tear them apart.

Each shift, each grotesque transformation of its form, sent waves of madness spiraling outward, a discordant ripple that spread through the cosmos. The very air of the universe seemed to hum with tension, a subtle tremor that hinted at the terror lurking beyond. The entity, a being of pure, uncontrollable power, writhed endlessly, as if straining against its own existence—an existence too vast, too alien for the mortal mind to comprehend.

Its presence was raw, untamed—a force of nature beyond mortal comprehension. The very essence of reality seemed to quiver at its existence, bending and twisting as if struggling to contain the chaotic power it exuded. The entity's grotesque, ever-shifting form pulsated with an energy that sent shockwaves through the cosmos, each pulse threatening to tear through the fragile boundaries of space and time. It was as if reality itself could barely hold together under the strain, warping and contorting around the god's incomprehensible mass.

The colors that radiated from its shifting body, colors that defied any logic, painted the void with an eerie, unnatural glow. Some hues were so bright they scorched the darkness of space, while others were void-like, swallowing all light. The mere sight of this entity was enough to drive a sane mind to madness—tendrils of chaos reaching out, twisting space into jagged spirals. Eyes—thousands of them, blinking in unnerving synchronicity—watched everything and nothing at once. Gaping maws appeared and vanished, each one filled with rows of infinite teeth, grinding reality itself.

Every shift of its flesh sent a pulse through the universe as if the entity was testing the very walls of existence, eager to shatter them and pour its power into realms where it did not belong. It was a being of pure, uncontainable chaos, a horror that threatened to unravel the cosmos simply by existing. Reality was fragile in its presence, a thin veil barely holding against the overwhelming force, a force that pressed and expanded, yearning to break free from its confinement at the edge of the universe.

The goddess's face contorted into a massive, sadistic grin, her expression a chilling mixture of delight and malice as her eyes gleamed with dark anticipation. In an instant, with a mere blink, she vanished from her place in the clouds and reappeared at the very edge of the universe, where the boundaries between existence and the incomprehensible void beyond began to blur.

As she materialized, her presence slammed into the chaotic aura of the outer god. The collision of their energies was immediate and violent, like two storms meeting in a cosmic clash. The space around them began to fracture, jagged lines of distortion spider-webbing outward as the boundaries of the universe struggled to contain the overwhelming power radiating from both entities. The very fabric of reality trembled, threatening to tear apart at the seams as the goddess's dark, oppressive aura collided with the raw, untamed chaos of the malformed entity.

The fractures in the separation between the universe and the unformed reality outside it pulsed with violent energy. Like cracks in a fragile mirror, they spread and expanded, revealing glimpses of the formless, incomprehensible chaos that lay just beyond the universe's fragile edge. The once-ever-expanding cosmos now seemed to buckle under the weight of their confrontation, its natural laws warping and bending, caught in the violent clash of forces too vast for mortal comprehension.

The goddess's grin widened even further, her lips stretching inhumanly as the pure, sadistic pleasure of the moment washed over her. The power thrumming through her veins was intoxicating, and the chaos surrounding her only seemed to fuel her delight. Her black eyes gleamed with a sinister light as she stared into the heart of the entity, her smile a mocking challenge to the incomprehensible force before her.

She relished the destruction their meeting was causing, her aura swirling and expanding as the cracks in reality deepened. Each fracture seemed to ripple with power, creating waves of distortion that shook the very essence of the universe, making it feel fragile and insignificant. The goddess's wings spread wide behind her, casting an ominous shadow that stretched across the void, as though she were preparing to unleash something even more terrifying.

The universe itself seemed to groan under the weight of their presence, the once orderly expansion now a chaotic mess of rips and tears. And through it all, the goddess's sadistic smile never faltered, her twisted pleasure only growing as the universe teetered on the brink of collapse.

"How bold of the outers to finally make their move on my home planet… I hope you can deal with the consequences."
