Golden Sand City, Central District.
Philip General and Darwin General's teams met in a park.
Almost all the survivors along the way had been evacuated by the Blade Squad.
Considering that some of them might be infected with Grey-Skins parasites, Darwin General didn't hesitate—he implanted a nano bomb into each survivor's body.
Philip General lit a cigarette and, after watching the transport plane leave, sighed: "Are the civilians mostly cleared out?"
Darwin nodded. "The nano insects can't detect any signs of life from the civilians anymore."
Philip General turned and looked at the City Lord's Office in the distance. His expression grew serious. "Let's go. Let's head to the City Lord's Office."
Darwin General nodded silently. Soon, nanobots covered his body, forming a humanoid flying machine, and he took off into the air.
Philip General frowned and called out his familiar [Iron Fortress].
As the huge semi-mechanical, semi-organic life form appeared in the park, white smoke began to rise from the entire sky of Golden Sand City.
[Iron Fortress] let out a loud roar. Its body revealed many mechanical tunnels. Armored tanks and spider robots came out of the tunnels, like a flood of steel, heading toward the City Lord's Office.
The five generals behind the two looked at each other, then disappeared into the surroundings, following the two generals forward.
Logan stood in the military command center, frowning as he watched the scene on the screen: "They're going in directly, trying to draw the invaders into a full-on battle."
Natalia watched the two old men rushing toward the City Lord's Office without hesitation and sighed. "This is their choice. As the best war leaders, their individual combat power has always been ignored."
Sophia added: "But anyone who thinks the two old generals are weak in a one-on-one fight will regret that mistake."
Lucia nodded. "Clearly, we don't have enough information about the enemy. The two old generals are trying to get as much info as possible with the least cost."
The two old generals moved quickly.
The steel flood army only took ten minutes to completely surround the City Lord's Office building.
On the four gates of the City Lord's Office, there were already more than twenty Grey-Skins lined up in formation.
When Philip General and Darwin General saw this, their brows tightened.
Twenty against the steel army? It was almost insulting.
Philip General hid within the steel army and let out a cold snort. He immediately gave the order: "Destroy the City Lord's Office. Bomb it without discrimination!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the steel army quickly set up their weapons—cannons, lasers, microwaves, electromagnetic explosions. Powerful attacks hit the outside wall of the City Lord's Office.
But before the weapons even started exploding, a tall Grey-Skin stepped forward.
His back was covered with moving tentacles. No matter if it was a cannonball, a laser, or an electromagnetic wave, all were blocked with perfect accuracy.
Even more, many attacks were redirected by his tentacles, exploding into the steel army's ranks and causing a big cloud of dust.
Philip General saw this and slightly frowned.
He raised his hand and said to Darwin General: "Take him down. I'll cover you!"
After saying that, Philip General directed the steel army to reorganize. A large number of spider robots and tanks merged together, forming huge mechanical warriors.
They charged again toward the ruins of the City Lord's Office. The tall Grey-Skin tried the same trick again, using his tentacles to block these mechanical warriors.
But their big and heavy bodies weren't easily caught. They still made it to the front of the invaders and ignited their cores.
A continuous explosion shook the air.
Philip General stood inside a newly dug bunker, quietly taking a drag of his cigarette.
These mechanical warriors were all powered by mini nuclear reactors. Their explosion power was obvious.
While the inferno and smoke blocked the view, Darwin General landed in front of the twenty or so invaders.
He didn't hesitate at all. He immediately opened his familiar's space and released a terrifying all-out attack.
At that moment, inside Darwin's familiar space, countless weapons were controlled by nanobots, firing at the tall invaders who had just come out.
Although the bullets didn't kill the enemy for sure, they still left him wounded, his skin turning purple and covered with wounds.
When the dust settled, the enemy showed a confident smile in front of them.
Darwin looked at him with a hint of pity and asked: "What's your name?"
The enemy wiped the blood from his face and, together with the other twenty or so invaders, said in unison: "We are called Toruk!"
Hearing this, Darwin frowned. "You?"
Then, in Darwin's shocked look, the twenty or so Grey-Skins all stepped behind Toruk.
At that moment, Darwin realized that the twenty or so Grey-Skins looked completely different from the invaders.
Instead, their faces looked more like humans from the Federation.
Darwin General frowned at Toruk and said through gritted teeth: "You modified the people in the city?"
Toruk smiled, showing his white teeth. "No, I just used this way to keep them safe. After all, food without preservation will go bad over time."
Hearing this explanation, Darwin General's lips twitched. He muttered a curse under his breath, then his back was quickly covered by nanobots that formed steel-like wings. They pushed him forward, speeding toward Toruk.
Toruk, seeing that Darwin actually dared to come at him directly, became excited. "Finally, a brave prey! I'll play with you!"
As he spoke, Toruk roared and charged at Darwin General. They exchanged a punch, and immediately pulled apart.
Where they hit, a strange spatial turbulence formed, devouring everything around them.
Seeing this, Toruk's eyes lit up. "So you also have someone with such strong physical power!"
Without another word, he charged again at Darwin General. The two of them fought hand-to-hand, no weapons, just pure body strength.
In the live stream, all the Federation's familiar tamers were stunned.
Even setting Darwin's strength aside, the pure, brutal beauty of their punches was enough to catch the attention of almost everyone watching.
Especially Solon, the head of the organization, left a comment in the live stream: "A real man should fight like this."
Logan noticed Solon's message and smiled. "More interesting familiar tamers are appearing in the Federation."
Natalia frowned as she watched the screen. She warned: "It's different. Darwin is using nanobots to strengthen his body. The invader is truly strong in a physical way."
Logan nodded silently.
From the way the battle was going, Darwin must have used his familiar to enhance his body.
Then, he used precise control over the nanobots to strengthen his internal organs, nervous system, bones, and muscles.
It was like he had placed a few trillion nanobots into his muscle fibers. They connected together, forming new mechanical fibers. These helped share the muscle's workload and improved its endurance and toughness.
The most important thing is that these nanobots could probably quickly repair Darwin General's injuries.
"Amazing ability. Is this a battle style or a skill?" Logan looked at Natalia, asking his question instinctively.
Natalia shook her head. "It's a top secret of the Federation. I only know that long ago, in the depths of the lost world, there was a kingdom made up of semi-mechanical lifeforms. Darwin and Philip General used to travel there when they were young."
Hearing that, Logan's brow furrowed even more. "A lost world with such a powerful civilization? That's not good news for the Federation at all."
Nel, who was beside him, patted Logan's shoulder. "You finally realized it. Pinocchini has been waiting for you."
Logan gave Nel a look. "Well, we still need to deal with these invaders first, don't we?"
Bobbi crossed her arms and said proudly: "We've already told the boss. He'll send reinforcements."
"Reinforcements?" Logan raised an eyebrow and looked at the two girls. "Pinocchini and the Federation aren't supposed to be enemies, are they?"
Nel grinned. "We're both human, so we're competitors. But when it comes to an alien race, we'll be your most trusted allies."
Bobbi's phone suddenly rang. She looked at it, then her eyes lit up. "Logan, three days from now, Pinocchini will send twenty Legend-ranked fighters to help. You must make sure the old generals hold on!"
Hearing this, Logan and Natalia exchanged a look.
Three days. Could the old generals really hold out? They didn't know.
On the battlefield, Toruk and Darwin General fought for a full fifteen minutes.
During that time, Philip General used the chance to reorganize another group of mechanical soldiers, surrounding the City Lord's Office again.
He watched the fight and checked the surroundings. "These guys must have sent just one person to deal with us again."
Just as Philip was confused, a gray figure suddenly popped up from under his feet and reached straight for his crotch.
"Shit!" Philip was so scared he immediately summoned his familiar, transforming into a steel warrior. Only then did he manage to block the fatal attack.
After he got out of the way, he noticed the spot where he had just stood. A thin, female invader had emerged from the ground, and she licked her fingers right in front of him. "Pfah! Another one who hasn't bathed."
