Lunareth was sent to the LanceStorm Headquarters to apprehend the person responsible for stealing from the woman earlier.
Sherly and Hanss were also dispatched there to assess the situation and prevent the conflict from escalating into something that could destroy the city.
Ethan remained at the LionArk headquarters, staring straight ahead with focused eyes, looking out through the glass wall of his office.
The door to Ethan's office opened, and Ashley came in to check on his condition. Yesterday, Ethan had come to her room to make sure she was fine.
Now, it was Ashley's turn to make sure Ethan was doing well. When the door opened, she saw clearly that Ethan had already finished his work.
He was standing behind his desk chair and turned around when he heard the door open.
"Ashley?" Ethan asked in greeting.
"You're done with your work already? What are you doing now?" Ashley asked.
Ethan stepped closer to her and pulled out a bottle of wine from his inventory, inviting Ashley to relax with him.
He prepared two glasses for himself and Ashley, then poured the wine, letting her unwind from her earlier busyness.
"I'm waiting for someone," Ethan said.
Ashley looked surprised and narrowed her eyes at him. Even though she was Ethan's wife and everyone knew that, jealousy and suspicion still crept in, even though she knew Ethan would never betray her.
"Someone?"
Ethan turned to look at Ashley's curious face. While sipping his wine, he explained who he was actually waiting for.
Slowly, her suspicion and jealousy faded. Ashley understood who Ethan was waiting for, and it was clearly not another woman.
While waiting, Ethan and Ashley enjoyed the wine together. Hissy was still lying on the long sofa, fast asleep in her LionArk uniform.
At around seven in the evening, Lunareth arrived through the open door. She came alone, without injuries and without showing any sign of exhaustion.
Ethan was still there, sitting in his chair. Ashley was also still with him, but the wine had made her drunk more quickly.
"I'm back," Luna said.
"How did it go, Luna?" Ethan asked.
"I've handled everything. You don't need to worry, Brother Ethan," Luna replied.
After Luna, Sherly arrived together with Hanss. The two of them came carrying Ethan's spirit crystals.
When they entered Ethan's office, Hanss looked shocked to see Ashley there, sleeping soundly and completely drunk.
"What happened to her?" Hanss asked.
"She's drunk. You don't need to worry about it," Ethan replied.
Sherly stretched out both of her hands, materializing three spirit crystals that belonged to Ethan. The three crystals floated toward him and were immediately accepted.
"So what about the woman from earlier?" Ethan asked.
"She already said her goodbyes and left. It seems she felt embarrassed in front of you," Sherly answered.
"All right. That makes sense."
Ethan opened the spirit crystal menu panel and replaced three rare tier crystals. He swapped them out for three new epic tier spirit crystals.
Two were wind element spirit crystals, and one was a fire element spirit crystal.
Out of five spirit crystals in total, Ethan now had three fire element crystals and two wind element crystals.
[Crystal Spirit:]
[1. Flame Void Dragon || Fire || Epic]
[2. Mountain Peak Mist || Wind || Epic]
[3. 1000 Wind Tornados || Wind || Epic]
[4. Spirit Vulcano || Fire || Epic]
[5. Purify Flame Essence || Fire || Epic]
[Base ATK & DEF]
[ATK: 59405 || DEF: 51905]
Ethan could feel the improvement, even though it was not very significant.
At the very least, the epic tier crystals he now possessed would be a great help later on, whether for increasing his speed or his overall power.
"It looks like you've prepared a lot for this Guild War, Sir Ethan," Hanss said.
"Of course."
"Guild War gives a lot of contribution points to our guild. I don't want to miss this opportunity," Ethan replied.
Ethan turned toward Luna and told her to return to a passive state since her task was finished.
The woman nodded obediently, blue light shining from her body. Her adult form shifted into a chibi form, floating behind Ethan's back.
"With the help of servants like Luna and Sera, the LionArk guild could become unbeatable."
"I understand."
Ethan told Sherly and Hanss to get some rest, especially Sherly, because tomorrow there would be a major meeting among the core members of the Eastern Alliance to determine their stance in the guild war.
Sherly and Hanss nodded, said their goodbyes to Ethan, and left his office.
Ethan stood up and walked over to Ashley, carrying her to her room. He did the same with Hissy, but she would sleep on the sofa in Ethan's bedroom for the time being.
Tomorrow was an important day for Ethan and LionArk. There was no way Ethan would let such a crucial opportunity slip away.
***
The next day.
Ethan walked together with Sherly, with Hissy accompanying them at his side. Sherly informed Ethan that Kevin from Guild Avalon, the ruler of Porco City, had already arrived.
Kevin had come with their vice guild leader and was currently waiting for Ethan in the Guild Hall.
The door opened, and Ethan entered with Sherly and Hissy. Kevin and Ross were already there, just as Ethan had requested.
"Thank you for coming, Guild Leader Kevin, Vice Leader Ross," Ethan said.
Kevin smiled. Honestly, he felt honored and proud to be invited by Ethan to this meeting.
Everyone knew how influential LionArk was, and maintaining a good relationship with them was the right policy.
"As a core member of the Eastern Alliance, it is our duty to follow every directive from the Alliance Leader," Kevin replied.
"There is no alliance leader in the Eastern Alliance. Every decision is made through mutual discussion, not through the authority of a single person."
"No, an alliance leader is still needed to maintain the integrity of the alliance," Ross replied, and Kevin nodded in agreement.
"We'll discuss that later in today's meeting."
Kevin and Ross did not mind. There were still several core guild members who had not arrived yet, so waiting a bit longer was not a problem.
Ethan invited them to relax and enjoy the food prepared by LionArk. He himself returned to his office to prepare the discussion points that would be addressed later.
This meeting was important, because it would determine the stance of the core member guilds of the Eastern Alliance in responding to the Guild War Event.
