Reincarnated With The Degenerate System

Chapter 77: CH-77

BANG!

The tip of my spear hit dead center on one of the large wood and it created a hole that has rotational pattern on it.

'Nice.' I nodded to myself, a small smile of satisfaction tugging at my lips.

The boost of power brought a brief sense of peace, at least for now. And it wouldn't hurt to get a little more.

'System, show me the Avatar card'

It pop out in my view and it was less flashy than the Asura one but I know that it would be any less powerful.

[DING!]

[Host, would you like to use the Avatar Card to enter a new simulation, or merge it with an existing Acting Card?]

I raised an eyebrow. "What's the difference between the two?"

[Host, if you choose just the Avatar Card, you will be sent to a random simulation, and the normal drop rates will apply.]

"And the other option?"

[The latter allows you to automatically claim a reward from a completed simulation. That reward will transform into a card you can summon at any time.]

[In addition, these cards can be upgraded beyond their original power if a special effect triggers—the chance of activation is higher.]

This was a hard choice.

A random simulation could offer surprises, new skills, unexpected rewards—but the risk was high, and the outcomes were unknown.

Merging with an existing Acting Card promised something a guaranteed advantage I could use anytime.

But would limiting myself to a past reward make me miss out on something far greater?

My teeth found the inside of my cheek as I weighed the possibilities.

Risk versus certainty, potential versus control—both paths had their merits, and neither was without flaws.

'System, what are the chances of me getting into a simulation stronger than General San Wang?'

[Host, the Avatar Card you obtained is unranked. Chance: zero.]

Shit. Good thing I asked before making my decision.

'Fuck it. Merge it with General San Wang's card!'

Normally, I wouldn't waste an Avatar Card like this, but the lure of that spear was too strong to resist.

Another window popped up, displaying all the items he owned, like I was browsing an online shop.

There it was: the weapon I'd been searching for.

The Dark Serpent Spear. Its grade was (C+), lower than I expected.

At first, disappointment hit—but then I noticed there were far more items than I realized. I scrolled through the list, and my eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.

Moonlight Dragon Spear (A+.)

—A legendary weapon forged from a mysterious rock said to have fallen from an asteroid billions of years ago. It is the heaviest metal on the planet, crafted by an ancient kingdom, weighing an astonishing 1000 kg.—

—Since no one could wield it for long, the spear became a display piece—but legend says the founder of the Moon Devouring Style once used it. Its durability is unmatched, impervious to rust or decay, no matter how much time passes.—

Reading the description, it became obvious why Sun Wang never used it, despite owning it. It was like lugging around a small car all the time.

But in my hands, this beast would be unstoppable. With the summoning ability, I didn't have to lug it around.

And even though it weighed a staggering 1,000 kg, I could wield it for short bursts using a combination of Qi and Shadow Energy.

When I picked it up, the card expanded before my eyes, growing to the size of a playing card as the spear's image shimmered across its surface.

[Congratulations, Host! You've triggered the special effect.]

The card shimmered for a split second, and the rating blinked—A+ transforming into S-.

Then, at the bottom, a small slot appeared, just like in the games—where a gem could be inserted.

"System what's the meaning of this?"

[Host, when a weapon reaches S status, it enters the realm of the supernatural. You can now embed a unique ability into it.]

Another welcome surprise. I couldn't help but grin at the possibilities.

"So how do I it?"

Another window appeared, displaying a new selection of gems.

White – Normal Qi

Blue – Refined Qi

Purple – Evil Qi

Black – Shadow Energy

Yellow – Mental Energy

There was no further information this time, like before, but I was already leaning toward the black and yellow gems.

First, Shadow Energy came from a higher lifeform, so that was a no-brainer. But then there was Mental Energy, gifted by the system itself.

And even though the system loved bullying me, I had to admit—it was probably stronger than a higher lifeform.

I hesitated for a moment before picking the yellow gem. Shadow Energy was the safest choice, and I hated being safe... Especially in bed.

"System… surprise me."

My heart kicked once. It always did that right before the system decided my fate.

[New Passive skills Embedded]

[Moonlight Mirage]

—Harnessing the mental influence of moonlight through unique wavelengths, each strike from the Dragon Spear carries a chance to put the enemy into a trance-like state, distorting their perception and creating a brief opening in their defense.—

A grin tugged at the corner of my lips. This was good.

Really good. Not only did it boost my combat options, it gave me a way to catch stronger opponents off guard.

The item card floated in front of me, spinning slowly before I reached out to grab it. The moment my fingers brushed its surface, a sharp crack split the air—and in a blink, the card shattered into light.

When the glow faded, the Moonlight Dragon Spear materialized mid air.

Grabbing it sent a jolt through my arms—the sheer weight nearly dragged me down.

thud!

The spear's tip slammed into the dirt, kicking up a burst of dust and leaving a small crater where it struck.

My arms screamed in protest, veins tightening under the strain—but despite that, a grin pulled at my lips.

Qi rippled through my arms, and bit by bit, the weight began manageable .I could finally lift the spear without feeling like my bones would snap.

With deep breaths, I adjusted the flow of Qi—testing, refining, fine-tuning it—until strength and control finally aligned.

I began to train more, molding my movements to the mass of the weapon.

Time slipped away unnoticed, and before I realized it, the first light of dawn was already creeping over the horizon.

Instead of stopping, I thrust the spear one last time, the air splitting with a deep, resonant boom—like an engine roaring to life.

If that teleporting woman saw me now, she'd regret not finishing the job—and be stunned by how much stronger I'd become in just a few hours.

Having a cheat system was like being born in the fast lane while everyone else was still learning how to drive.

I turned toward the path back to the vacation house.

My legs felt spring-loaded with power, letting me leap from tree to tree.

Each time I landed, I softened the impact with a bit of shadow manipulation—an idea I shamelessly stole from that woman who used air to muffle her steps.

'I could use a good hot drink right about now,'

Mumbling under my breath, I spotted one of the maids already setting up breakfast in the distance.
