Apocalypse: I Can See the HP Bar, Killing Monsters Drops Loot

Chapter 807: Former Memories

Wang Tao suddenly found many unfamiliar memories appearing in his mind, yet these memories had a strangely familiar feeling.

He didn't delve deeply into these memories at first but suddenly thought of a tool he exchanged with a time-space creature in the previous life—

[Tool: Former Memories]

[Former Memories: After ascending to the Ninth Level, you will gain all the memories from your past and present lives, and know all the conditions of using "Time Travel"]

In his previous life, when Wang Tao exchanged points with a time-space creature, he discovered that his past life also initiated "Time Travel," which is why he had the "True Vision Eye" as a cheat.

This "Time Travel" could be used 9 times in total, and in his previous life, Wang Tao used it for the last time, meaning that he himself used both the 8th and 9th times. He didn't know who used the first 7 times, but he was very curious. Plus, Wang Tao had only this last point left, so he exchanged it for this tool.

However, after being reborn in this life, his rhythm was very fast, either becoming stronger or on the way to becoming stronger, leaving little time to think about other things. Moreover, this tool could only be activated at Ninth Level, so even though Wang Tao lived another life, ascending to Ninth Level was very difficult, and he forgot about this stuff.

But forgetting doesn't mean it didn't exist; now he finally ascended to Ninth Level, and the Former Memories tool was activated!

Wang Tao closed his eyes and carefully received these familiar yet unfamiliar memories.

A moment later, he understood why the Former Memories tool had to be activated at Ninth Level, because there were so many memories! If it weren't for a Ninth Level mind, it surely couldn't withstand such a massive memory impact!

Even though Wang Tao was already at Ninth Level, it still took him three whole hours to absorb all these memories. He rubbed his somewhat sore temples and then fell into deep thought.

Wang Tao realized he had miscalculated; he originally thought that only the eighth and ninth Time Travels were related to him, but now these memories showed that all nine were connected to him!

In other words, he alone had initiated Time Travel nine times!

"Could it be that I am the child of destiny?"

Wang Tao was very surprised, but after carefully sorting through the memories, he found it quite reasonable that he could initiate Time Travel nine times.

The most crucial aspect was the first life, which laid the foundation for using the remaining eight Time-Space Creatures!

In the first life, after the apocalypse arrived, besides zombies, there were no other monsters, and zombies weren't as strong as they are now, the strongest being about Level 3.

However, these zombies didn't have Crystal Cores inside, and humans didn't become stronger by hunting them; they remained as weak as ever compared to zombies.

Additionally, the Zombie Virus was extremely infectious and spread across the entire planet in ways humans could not comprehend during the initial outbreak, leading to 99% of the global population turning into zombies in a short time!

The police and military were completely paralyzed, humans had no means of resistance, and indeed a lot of food was contaminated with the Zombie Virus, and eating it would turn you into a zombie! Mankind fell into utter despair.

During the first life, Wang Tao was relatively lucky, being part of the 1% who survived the initial virus outbreak.

In the Happy Community where he lived, only three people were still alive. Besides himself, the other two were Ding Yuqin and an old man from the building next door.

Wang Tao was physically fit and capable of going out to search for food; as for Ding Yuqin and the old man... Wang Tao watched them get eaten by zombies.

It's not that Wang Tao didn't want to help, but protecting himself was already very difficult, and he couldn't risk his life to help others, especially when the chances of rescuing them were close to zero.

After that, Wang Tao lived alone, barely encountering another survivor even once a month. Even if he did, Wang Tao had no desire to interact with them and kept his distance. It was evidently more convenient to take food from survivors than to look for it among zombie herds.

Wang Tao lived cautiously for three years, surviving like a wild man in the forest. He had no social interactions, no one to talk to, and his sole aim was to stay alive.

When he unexpectedly contracted an illness and thought he was finally going to be freed, others suddenly passed by.

These people used a Potion with significant side effects to save Wang Tao's life temporarily, even bringing his body back to its peak condition. But there was a chance Wang Tao could die suddenly thereafter, and even if he survived, he would likely be left with serious long-term effects.

They told Wang Tao that they had found a way to end the apocalypse and needed his help.

Since his life had been saved by these people, Wang Tao naturally had no objections and agreed.

Then he set off with them, finding other survivors and rescuing many, causing the group to grow larger and larger.

A month later, just as the side effects of the Potion Wang Tao had taken were about to erupt, those people informed him that the action was about to commence.

Wang Tao actually knew little and didn't ask much, just followed them heedlessly. It was only on the day of the action that Wang Tao learned they were going to hunt a monster named "Revelation." They believed that as long as they defeated this monster, the world would return to normal.

Wang Tao actually didn't believe such claims, but he didn't question them. Others did the same; although no one believed, no one doubted or opposed it, instead following without hesitation, because people needed hope. They lived like the walking dead; without hope, even if they survived, they might end up dying of suicide.
