Chapter 183: Throwing Money at People

The skills Chen Yang displayed had thoroughly won over Zheng Xiaoman.

Furthermore, Zheng Xiaoduo was only willing to learn martial arts from him, and Zheng Xiaoman desperately wanted her sister to learn self-defense. That was why she had swallowed her pride and chased after him.

But what is with this guy's attitude? Doesn't he know that in all her years navigating the business world, she has never once apologized to anyone?

Facing Chen Yang's indifferent expression, Zheng Xiaoman, despite her displeasure, managed a smile. "To show my sincerity, I'm willing to increase the five percent profit concession I promised you to eight percent!"

Those three percentage points represented several million in cold, hard cash.

It was clear that Zheng Xiaoman truly doted on her sister; she spared no expense when it came to her.

"President Zheng, you're too generous!" Chen Yang gave her a thumbs-up. "And your willingness to spend money like water for your sister is truly admirable!"

"So, does that mean you agree, Mr. Chen?"

Zheng Xiaoman smiled. She had never believed there was a problem in this world that money couldn't solve. If there was, it just meant you hadn't offered enough.

However, Chen Yang's reply made her smile freeze and her expression darken.

"No."

Those two simple words fell like a bucket of ice water over her head, and a spark of anger ignited amidst her disappointment. She felt she had shown more than enough sincerity. Why was he still refusing?

Zheng Xiaoduo pouted pitifully. "Uncle, please have some pity on me and take me as your disciple!"

Chen Yang rolled his eyes. What on earth was she talking about?

Before he could respond, Zheng Xiaoman interjected, "Mr. Chen, feel free to state your demands. As long as it's within my power, I will do my best to satisfy you."

"Of course, you can't make any unreasonable demands," she added, glancing at him warily.

Chen Yang knew exactly what she meant by "unreasonable demands." He shook his head and chuckled. "Don't worry, I have no demands. At the same time, I have no intention of taking on any disciples."

"That's that. Bye!"

Waving at them, Chen Yang stepped aside to leave, but Zheng Xiaoman moved to block his path again. It seemed she wasn't ready to give up.

"Xiaoman!"

Suddenly, a man in his early thirties approached them. He wore a black suit with a white tie, his short hair was meticulously styled, and a limited-edition watch gleamed on his left wrist. From every angle, he looked like an extraordinary, top-tier social elite. The sheer force of his presence was enough to make ordinary people feel inferior, unable to even meet his gaze. With one hand in his pocket and the other holding a bouquet of vibrant red roses, he strode toward them, exuding an air of powerful confidence.

"Wang Han, what are you doing here?" Zheng Xiaoman frowned slightly.

The young man named Wang Han glanced at Zheng Xiaoman's attire, and a light flashed in his deep-set eyes. A faint smirk touched his lips. "I heard the banquet ended early. I was just passing by, so I thought I'd come and see you."

"As for these," he said, holding the bouquet out to her, "I bought them from a flower shop nearby."

Zheng Xiaoman's expression remained unchanged, and she made no move to take the flowers.

Just as the atmosphere was about to become awkward, Zheng Xiaoduo snatched the bouquet with a giggle. "Wow, you can still buy flowers this fresh so late at night!"

"The owner said they were picked just an hour ago," Wang Han replied, gladly taking the excuse to defuse the tension. However, his eyes flashed with a hint of malice directed primarily at Zheng Xiaoman. He had been pursuing her for almost a year and hadn't so much as held her hand, let alone received a smile. Is this woman completely ungrateful? You refuse my kindness and insist on testing my patience. Are you trying to force me to resort to other means?

His family's pharmaceutical business, which comprised twenty to thirty factories and was growing at a rate of twenty percent annually, was the Huarui Group's largest client. A mere sneeze from Wang Han could give the entire Huarui Group a cold. It was for this reason alone that Zheng Xiaoman hadn't blocked him and cut off all contact.

Wang Han then turned to Chen Yang with a smile. "And this is?"

"His name is Chen Yang. My sister wants to learn martial arts from him."

Zheng Xiaoman breathed a small sigh of relief and briefly explained the situation, focusing only on the martial arts lessons and omitting their business dealings.

After listening, Wang Han studied Chen Yang with interest. "I wonder, Mr. Chen, why are you so determined to refuse?"

"I have no plans to take on students," Chen Yang stated flatly.

Wang Han laughed. "Well, you can make new plans. Take her as your disciple. What do you say?"

"No," Chen Yang replied, shaking his head.

He truly had no such intention. Besides, who does this guy think he is?

"Don't speak in such absolutes. If you change your mind later, you'll just have to eat your words. How embarrassing would that be?" As he spoke, Wang Han pulled a checkbook from his pocket and asked casually, "Name your price. How much do you want?"

Chen Yang glanced at him, his expression cold.

"Is five million enough?" Wang Han quickly wrote out a check and tried to stuff it into Chen Yang's pocket.

When Chen Yang didn't react, Wang Han shook his head with a smirk, tore off another check, and held it out. "Then how about ten million?"

Zheng Xiaoman and Zheng Xiaoduo both frowned. What on earth is this guy doing? Trying to bury someone in money?

Zheng Xiaoman started to object, but Wang Han waved her off. "Still not enough? How about twenty million?"

"You're going too far!" Zheng Xiaoman snapped.

Wang Han simply shrugged. "There's no such thing as 'willing' or 'unwilling.' It's always just a matter of money."

Seeing Chen Yang finally pick up the checks, Wang Han grinned. "See? As long as the price is right, all other reasons are just excuses."

RIP!

Chen Yang tore the checks again and again, shredding them into tiny pieces.

Wang Han's smile froze, and his face darkened at a visible rate.

WHOOSH!

Chen Yang flicked his wrist, and the cloud of paper scraps scattered across Wang Han's face before fluttering to the ground.

"You…"

Wang Han's fury erupted, but before he could say another word, his voice was cut off. Chen Yang had grabbed him by the neck and, with a heavy thud, slammed him against a nearby car.

Wang Han winced, his face flushing beet-red as he clenched his teeth in a mixture of pain and rage. He could never have imagined that this man would dare to lay a hand on him!

"So, you're very rich, are you?" Chen Yang's voice was eerily calm. "Right now, I'm thinking of killing you. How much are you willing to pay for your life?"
