Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 114: Secret Realm (13)

Bang!

An evolver standing beside one of the huge stone pillars punched out with a ferocious grunt. From his physique and skin, one could easily tell that he was a martial artist.

As soon as his punch connected to the stone slab, it shook slightly, and it slowly displayed a number: 1200.

The onlooking evolvers, seeing this, gasped in surprise.

"1200!"

"That's incredible!"

"He's incredibly strong, but I guess that's expected for martial artists. They have extremely powerful bodies."

"Still, 1200, the passing requirement is only 1000."

"He's called Alex, right? Alex Graveson, the son of the Patriarch of the Graveson family."

"Incredible. He's on a different level than us. He's only eighteen years old, and yet he can already output this much power at such a young age."

"The physical assessment trial mountain, while looking easy, is definitely not something everyone can clear. Those with average talent will definitely struggle."

"You can expect nothing less from him. This is Alex Graveson we are talking about."

The guy speaking knew this clearly, as he, just like this Young Master Alex of the Graveson family, had tried the strength assessment stage of the trial. However, the result he got was 400. He too was a peak 1st ranker, someone at the 12th level, and he was several years older than Alex as well.

But the difference here was earth-shattering.

It went to show how the noble and well-treated families were entirely different, while commoners like them could only scrape by and work hard for their resources.

Right next to each of these stone pillars scattered around the place was a small stone tablet with words written on it.

The words were clearly written in the language of Blue Star; hence, they didn't have much trouble reading it, despite it looking rather rough after years of isolation and lack of care.

The tablet read as follows:

500 - Average

750 - Good

1000 - Pass

1250 - Excellent

1500 - Outstanding

Following the number being displayed on the stone slab, a jade slip popped out from the head of the stone pillar and landed neatly in the hands of the martial artist who had performed the strength assessment trial.

He turned to everyone and bowed elegantly. "Everyone, I'm not worthy of such praise."

He smiled sharply. The Graveson family was a family that was rather tame compared to others. They were passive and only acted when someone came to pick trouble with them, and no one wanted trouble with the Graveson family, not even the corporations or the city lord.

Alex Graveson was naturally a well-known figure in Ashspire City. He was known for his elegance and his way with words. This guy might be an evolver, but he was also a sharp businessman at heart. Despite being only eighteen, he already handled the affairs of the Graveson family by himself. He was that skilled.

"Hmph." Just then, an angry snort came from the crowd.

Everyone turned their heads. There, they saw a burly guy with tightly packed muscles, deep fiery red eyes, a buzz cut, wearing a sleeveless white tank top and a dog tag chain, emerging from the crowd.

Seeing the guy, Alex smiled.

"Greetings, Young Master Kane," he greeted softly.

"It's Kane Wynters from the Wynters family."

"Hmph, pretty boy, you did not bad for your level," Kane said with an arrogant look on his face. Then, a dense beastly energy erupted from him.

Immediately, white fur began growing from his arms, and his physique stretched upward.

"But I'll show you what true physical strength is." He smiled with a raw, untamed look on his face as he stepped past Alex.

"He underwent beastly transformation. It's the legendary Ironhide Polar Bear bloodline. The special trait a bloodline warrior can receive from their bloodline is immense. They gain insane toughness and the ability to manipulate ice. It's definitely one of the top-tier bloodlines out there, and Young Master Kane has managed to awaken it."

Special traits of beasts could be awakened if the bloodline was incredibly pure.

While special traits usually came from the beast core, the traits would have already been hard-printed into their DNA. Hence, bloodline warriors, if lucky, could awaken special traits too.

But this usually happened when they fused more deeply with their bloodline, which only occurred in the later stages of life level. Hence, Kane awakening it early was definitely something worthy of praise, and this was also what earned him a spot as one of the geniuses of Ashspire City.

Kane stood in front of the stone pillar and immediately punched out.

Instantly, a terrifying beastly will broke out from him and condensed at his fist, which glowed with deep icy energy. Then, with a step forward, he punched.

Boom!

The stone pillar shook, and the ground trembled slightly. The next moment, a number was displayed: 1500.

"1500!"

The onlookers immediately burst out in exclamation.

"It's actually 1500," they said in disbelief.

"It's leagues above Young Master Alex."

"Looks like Young Master Kane has been training hard for this moment."

"See that?" Kane said with a satisfied smile on his face. "This is true strength."

"Congratulations, Young Master Kane," Alex said with a smile. "Your power has reached new heights."

Alex didn't feel anything about it. To him, it didn't matter. He was sufficiently talented, and he was grateful for that. There was no need for competition.

Just then, amidst the chattering, a voice came from the side.

"Make way. It's my turn now."

The voice wasn't particularly loud, yet for unknown reasons, all of them stopped talking and turned toward the source of the voice.

It was Grey, who stood by the side, hands in his pockets, observing while chewing what appeared to be bubble gum. He had prepared a lot of snacks for himself and Mimi to eat on the way.

Mimi wasn't here now since she didn't need to be. He had dispersed the Shapeless Ability before leaving for the Mental Illusion trial after the fight with the Ardent family members in the forest. He would only call it out once he got bored of battling, but now it was his time to enjoy some battle.

He blew his gum from his mouth and popped it amidst the confused looks of others.

"Hey, isn't that the guy, the one Young Master Anderson threatened?" one of the evolvers said loudly, enough for everyone in the vicinity to hear.
