Outside the secret realm, Ashspire City.

The citizens of Ashspire City were looking at the sky in terror.

Raging flames descended to the ground from the sky as Werner and Valeria fought Varyn with gritted teeth.

Both of them looked gravely injured, Werner was now bleeding profusely and Valeria looked tattered.

She glared at the guy that stood not far away from them with a calm expression.

"Is that all?" Varyn asked calmly, however his voice contained a hint of mockery. "Is that all the top experts of Ashspire City can do?"

Varyn was completely unharmed, he didn't even look slightly injured.

Not only was he perfectly fine, his energy reserves were full as well.

It couldn't be said the same for Werner and Valeria, they were running out of energy, the only thing that supported them until now was Valeria's powerful defensive artifact and Werner unleashing formations one by one.

Several of the attacks were landing directly in the city too, they were almost 50 percent certain that civilians were caught in the crossfire between their battles.

Casuality was unavoidable during a battle between powerful evolvers, but people were dying left and right now.

Even the shelters couldn't save them from the firepower of these two middle stage 2nd rankers, and Varyn, there was no need to mention anything about him, he killed civilians the chance he got, almost as if he hated human beings as a whole.

Now, Varyn had established himself as the great villain of Ashspire City.

Everyone hiding in corners of the city looked at him with either fear or anger.

"Heavenly fire!" Valeria's flames burned bright orange as she shot the attack forward towards Varyn.

Boom!

Air distorted as the terrifying flames shot out.

Varyn appeared calm, he didn't even move in the slightest seeing the flames.

"Now I know why the higher ups want to take you in." Varyn spoke calmly as he lightly tapped the incoming flame which when hit could level a city's sector.

Immediately, the flame was extinguished.

"If it was an ordinary late stage 2nd ranker then they might've already been severely injured by your flames." Varyn took a step forward, the next moment he was right beside Werner and Valeria.

"I'm not ordinary!" His chilling voice drilled into their ears, this time, his voice was distorted.

Boom!

A terrifying shockwave erupted outward, within the center of it was Varyn.

He was undergoing a transformation.

Abyssal transformation.

Long horns grew out from his head as black abyssal energy swirled around it, his figure became larger as energy poured out and his robe was destroyed revealing his upper torso and face.

In his abyssal transformed face were deep glowing yellow slitted eyes, his physique was tightly packed together with a hollow in the center of his chest, inside the hollow chest was a black hole filled with red energy rotating, constantly sucking away the cosmic energy in the atmosphere.

"This." Werner's expression turned grim.

"An abyssal being. Was this guy an abyssal being all along?" Valeria frowned.

The livestream was going crazy seeing Varyn.

[What the hell is that?!]

[He doesn't look human anymore!]

[He looks scary. Are we going to die?]

[We are going to die! That thing is clearly not a human!]

[Everyone stop panicking! I'm sure formation expert Werner and CEO of Azrael Corporation Valeria will do something about it!]

The law enforcers who hadn't gone to the High Order's side tried to keep everyone calm, a lot of enforcers had died from the attacks of the High Order, but the majority of the second rankers were still alive, hence they tried their best to keep everything in order.

If they showed fear wouldn't the ordinary civilians completely lose it?

"Hmph, pathetic mortals." Varyn snorted, shockwave spreading everywhere from his voice.

Even without the livestream, everyone within Ashspire City heard him.

"I had already forsaken my humanity for higher power!" He exclaimed. "Humans are weak! Extremely weak to the point they are utterly useless among the myriad races across the world!"

[Myriad races? What is this guy saying?]

"The humans will never reach the level of an abyssal being. An exalted race with powerful abilities and authority!"

"With the help of the High Order, I was able to completely transform myself into an abyssal being!" He grinned evilly. "Now, no one in the 2nd rank can stop me! No one!"

He then pointed at Valeria. "Play time is over, woman. The higher ups of the High Order have ordered me to take you away, come with me of your own accord and I will not do anything to this city."

Of course, that was a lie, him not doing anything to the city was simply impossible, in fact if not for Valeria and Werner he would've already flattened this city to the ground and taken all the vital energy of the citizens here and left for the Three Guards Province to summon the exalted abyssal being.

"You think I'm dumb?" Valeria laughed. "You High Order bunch are ruthless pieces of shits. There is no way I'm going with you, nor am I going to let you destroy the city."

Valeria smiled brightly at Varyn, with a hint of coldness in her smile. "If you want to succeed in your plans then you will have to see my dead body first!"

"This old man has grown quite old, maybe dying from saving the city doesn't sound so bad." Werner chimed as he calmly rubbed his beard.

They both had their trump cards, but using them would without a doubt take a toll on their bodies, perhaps their lifespan would be reduced massively, but that didn't concern them.

The High Order, if they let them win, then who knew what would happen to the entire southern region.

Both of them had people they cared about in Ashspire City.

For Werner it was his disciples, for Valeria it was her company, she developed this company at a young age with people she could call family and friends even if they didn't share any blood.

She herself knew how many lives the High Order had taken, even her own comrades and friends.

How could she let the High Order win?

Over her dead body.

She was very proud, she wouldn't let someone like a parasitic worm like the High Order member in front of her win. No, if she lost, then that would mean humanity itself had lost against the High Order.

"You guys are parasites to this world!" Valeria exclaimed as flames erupted, she was ready to take action.

"And I will purge you all if it is the last thing I do!"

"Hmph." Varyn sneered. "Wishful thinking."

He burst out laughing, he fully unleashed his power, covering the entirety of Ashspire City.

[It's over.]

The civilians and the evolvers of Ashspire City looked at the sky with dread and despair.

Even the law enforcers looked terrified.

"Since that is the case. I will just flatten this entire city!" Varyn said with a look of mockery. "Become the catalyst to the gate!"

The energy surged even further, turning the sky of the city dense black in colour.

However just then, something happened.

Buzzt!

"Huh?" Varyn's expression changed.

So did Werner's and Valeria's.

Bzzt. Bzzt.

The darkness that surrounded the city suddenly vanished, following that a terrifying power descended into Ashspire City.

Buzz!

A silver purple energy covered the entire city in brim with lightning flickering across the energy.

[What is this now?]

[The guy's energy is being overpowered!]

"This presence." One of the law enforcers trembled.

Then, a voice echoed throughout the city, sending chills down everyone's spine.

"Flatten the city? Buddy who gave you the permission to do that? Who the f*ck are you?"
