After coming back, Grey arranged a room for Lia to stay in, and Little Hong was still soundly asleep in the room.
He did not know why, but she should wake up by tomorrow. As for Alissa, he had checked on her before coming back, and she was still in the process of undergoing transformation. He also noticed a dragon scale forming around her.
The scale was covering her in a circle that formed the shape of an egg.
She would more or less become fully covered in it in a day or two.
With that thought settled, Grey went directly to sleep. He shut his brain off completely as he fell into sleep.
And as soon as he did, he surprisingly found himself in a dream.
He never expected to start dreaming once he decided to sleep after a long time.
Inside the dream, he was within the starry sky. Wherever he looked, he saw glowing stars and light in the distance.
But why was he so awake within this dream? He could move and think just like he could in the real world.
The next instant, although his questions remained unanswered, a light abruptly flickered in the sky. A massive spaceship appeared out of nowhere. It was unbelievably huge, large enough that it almost seemed bigger than an entire planet.
The ship's outer surface was smooth and metallic, shaped like a long oval with a pointed front. Bright blue lines ran across its hull, forming patterns similar to circuits, clearly showing that it was built with extremely advanced technology. The entire ship was covered by a faint glowing barrier that looked like a transparent shield, giving off a soft hum that echoed through the empty space.
Its walls were thick and reinforced, made to withstand anything. Rows of lights blinked along the sides, and several large engines at the back released waves of energy that rippled gently in the air.
As he stared, more light flickered in the distance, and just like the spaceship that appeared, more similar ones appeared.
'Am I that obsessed with the starry sky that I started seeing dreams about it?' Grey's lips twitched.
The spaceships looked like they came straight out of a sci-fi movie. It was pretty realistic for a dream, maybe becoming a higher ranked evolver with a higher mind meant a more realistic dreaming experience.
He had read somewhere that a second ranker who loved sleeping and was an esper loved to dream because his dreams were all in 4K ultra quality apparently.
Maybe this was a similar situation.
The spaceships that had descended suddenly rang out with alarms, and instantly, out of their metallic bodies, several powerful weapons emerged. Grey began to hear indescribable words ringing throughout the starry sky.
The next moment, his eyes widened.
Bzz.
Like a crack in a TV, a huge chunk of the starry sky broke apart like it was nothing. Out of it, a giant hand covered in mysterious patterns emerged.
The instant it did, the indescribable voice rang out again.
The next moment, the myriad spaceships all fired at the hand in unison.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Within Grey's vision, he saw the light across the starry sky dimming with each attack blasting out of the spaceships.
His vision shifted, and the next moment, he saw the same light beam that emerged out of the spaceship rushing toward a galaxy.
Boom!
Space collapsed in an instant, and the galaxy that was hit with the attack from the spaceship was vaporized.
His vision shifted again. The hand that stayed immobile until now moved.
A terrifying suction force formed around its palm, space and time twisted, and the world flashed black and white.
The next moment, the indescribable voice rang out again. He still could not understand a single word, yet this time he clearly felt it. Fear, panic, and desperation overflowed from the voice as if something terrible had just been confirmed.
Boom!
A blinding light exploded before his eyes like a flashbang going off. His vision turned pure white for a heartbeat.
When it finally returned, everything had already changed.
The massive spaceship ahead of him was breaking apart. Its entire body began to disintegrate from the inside, not like normal destruction but as if reality itself was rejecting its existence. Red black glitchy fragments rippled across its hull.
Lines of corrupted light crawled over the surface, spreading rapidly until the entire ship twisted out of shape.
Space cracked.
The stars behind the ship flickered like broken pixels. Entire regions of the void collapsed into red black noise, spreading outward as if someone had torn the universe's fabric and allowed raw corruption to spill through.
The light continued to pulse, and everything it touched fragmented into the same glitch like distortion. It did not feel like the spaceship was being destroyed. It felt like the universe itself was being erased frame by frame.
Grey's breath caught as the distortion rushed toward him, swallowing galaxies, swallowing time, swallowing everything.
The voice cried out again, full of terror.
But it was useless. Everything formed into a ball of multi-colored light, flashing with power, and exploded within the palm of the hand.
...
However, the next moment, he realized that he was no longer in that battlefield. Instead, he was somewhere else.
"What is this?" Grey stared at what had appeared in front of him in awe.
A giant planet, no, it could not even be called giant. It was extremely huge, to the point the term boundless would be the most accurate one.
There were no starry skies, but floating islands the size of giant stars which were filled with energy and vitality.
Abruptly, the scenery broke.
The sky above the huge world shattered like glass, and a familiar hand suddenly appeared in Grey's vision.
"What?" Grey's expression stiffened when he saw this sight.
What was up with this hand?
He was already feeling very uneasy from what he saw earlier, yet it had appeared again.
Feeling uneasy was putting it mildly. It would be more accurate to say that Grey was shocked beyond words.
And now the hand had appeared again.
The instant it did, the sky twisted, and from all corners of the huge boundless world, several streaks of light rose to the sky. The mere presence shook the world as a whole.
