Sylvie stared down at us from the top of the stairs, arms folded and tail dancing furiously behind her.
"Is everything alright, Sylvie?"
"Sylvie wants to help save the leech."
"You mean Isabella?"
"The leech!" Suddenly, Sylvie jumped down from the top of the stairs and grabbed hold of my hand. "Come with me, Lee!"
Without giving me any time to respond, she pulled me upstairs and practically dragged me along as we raced through the inn. She seemed a lot more chipper today, as I could hear excited giggling coming from her as we raced along.
We ran through the buzzing chatter of the inn until we eventually got back to my room. Then my surprise doubled even further.
"What are you guys doing here?" I asked the moment I saw that Kumo and Selthia were also in my room.
"Sylvie dragged us here," Selthia said tiredly.
"We're here to lend you our support, darling," Kumo replied.
"Wait, is this about Isabella?"
"Have a seat, Lee!" Sylvie shouted before shoving me down on the bed.
From there, the three girls surrounded me, locking me in.
"We're worried about you, Lee."
"And also a bit angry."
"I could never be angry at my darling."
"One at a time, please. The three of you are already a trouble to deal with by yourselves. Together, it's ten times worse," I said, instructing them all not to speak at once or I feared I would have an aneurysm.
"Ember told us about what happened earlier. About when those ghouls brought that box to you," Selthia explained. "Ever since then, we could sense that something wasn't quite right with you, so we've been worried."
'So that's what it is.'
"You don't have to worry; I'm fine."
"No, you're not. We can sense it," Kumo spoke up.
"We just want to help, Lee. Since we're all connected to you, we can feel your emotions, so it's no use lying to us," Sylvie said, and suddenly Selthia stepped forward.
"Darling, you remember the promise I made to you not long ago. That I will be there to help you no matter what. It won't be fair if you don't allow me to fulfill my part of the promise. Allow us to help." Selthia pleaded.
"Stop ignoring us, darling. You haven't called on us for anything since we've been here. Allow us to fight by your side, darling. We'll help get Isabella back," Kumo said.
I understood where they were coming from. They wanted to help me fight against the vampires.
"It will be dangerous. The vampire I'm going up against is formidable. I'm not sure if I can beat him on my own."
"That's why we'll fight beside you, darling," Selthia said, interlocking her fingers with mine. "All of us will fight beside you. We'll help bring the leech back to you."
Seeing them eager to help me, I couldn't help but feel happy. By myself, maybe I couldn't win against Allucard, but with their help, it was more possible.
"Thank you all. Your support means a lot."
"As much as I would like to take the credit, it was all Sylvie's idea. She felt that something was wrong the moment those ghouls came. Plus, she was trying to convince us for a while now to help you save Isabella," Selthia said.
"She's right. Sylvie was the one who came up with the plan to help," Kumo agreed.
"Is that so?" I stood up from the bed and walked over to Sylvie. Her ears were drooped, and her tail was hidden between her legs. She was clearly embarrassed by Selthia and Kumo.
"You did a good job, Sylvie," I said, patting her on the head.
"Does Sylvie get a treat?"
"Hmm… What kind of treat would you want?"
"Sylvie wants lots and lots of meat, and also tummy rubs. And also Spidey and Fishy deserve treats too."
Selthia's smile twitched when Sylvie referred to her as Fishy, while Kumo didn't even seem to notice her being referred to as Spidey.
"Alright then, I'll treat you all. Let's go down to the inn."
The four of us went down to the inn together. It was as crowded as ever. The moment we entered, everyone's gazes shifted to us. It seemed Selthia had turned into a local celebrity and was attracting quite a few customers who had heard tales of her beautiful voice.
She interlocked her arms with mine and ignored them, keeping her head held high as they gazed at her in awe. It wasn't just her voice, but her beauty was otherworldly too.
"It seems Sylvie is maturing a bit more. At least my teachings aren't going to waste," she commented as we walked side by side.
Kumo and Sylvie were walking along in front of us. Sylvie sniffed the air, taking in the aroma of the hall. While Kumo mainly looked around curiously.
"Are you proud of her?" I teased.
"Hmph! I'm just satisfied that she's developing, that's all."
Soon, we found a comfortable seat around a table and settled in. The moment I sat down, Sylvie laid down on my lap, staring up at me.
"Sylvie wants tummy rub."
She didn't waste a second and lifted up her shirt to show me her stomach. She was clearly expecting me to rub her stomach now. Her tail danced behind her in anticipation. I slowly placed my hands down on her soft stomach, and the moment I did, her body shuddered.
"Lee~"
She purred softly as I massaged her stomach.
"As for my treat," Kumo suddenly spoke up, her face crimson red and her voice trembling slightly. "I want an indirect kiss."
"A kiss? That is quite bold of you, Kumo. I never expected it."
"She said an indirect kiss, darling, not a real kiss. Meaning, the two of you will drink from the same cup," Selthia explained.
"Really? That's it?"
I looked at Kumo, and she was blushing uncontrollably, her chest heaving with every steamy breath that escaped her mouth.
'She was getting that worked up over an indirect kiss.'
"As perverted as ever Kumo. You can't even ask for a real kiss," Selthia teased with a smirk on her face.
"My heart can't take it yet! But in due time, if things progress steadily, we'll move on to that kind of stuff."
"But for now, you're stuck being a pervert."
Just then, Asia approached us to take our order.
