Werewolf Leveling: Building the Strongest Pack in the Apocalypse

Chapter 176: The Plan Commence

Night fell, turning the sky into a pitch of black until the will-o'-wisps finally came out to dance in the sky. The night air was cold against my face as I prepared myself for what was to happen. Everyone was ready, waiting and watching the Veylmont's mansion. Thankfully, I could feel Isabella's presence inside.

I latched onto the sound of her heartbeat. Currently surrounding me were Sylvie, Selthia and Kumo. Yuki and Khalissi were positioned elsewhere on another side of the mansion. While Kaguya was inside the mansion. The vampires didn't seem to question her return and welcomed her openly. We waited patiently for her to signal the bell for us to begin.

"What exactly is she doing?" Selthia asked, her brows furrowed as if she was trying really hard to grasp it.

I smiled at the cute face she was making and explained once again.

"Kaguya will turn all the lower-level vampires in the mansion into ghouls."

"Oh, and how will she do that?"

"If they are weak enough, the vampires can easily be turned with just a scratch of my claws. Kaguya will use a piece of my claw I gave her to infect the weaker vampires," I explained.

"Huh? No fair, why does she get souvenirs?" Kumo pouted.

"The vampires who get infected will spread this infection among the others." I continued.

"Do you think Allucard will get infected?" Selthia asked.

"No, I'm not powerful enough to turn someone of his level into a ghoul. I'm mostly aiming to take out all the lower-level vampires while we deal with Allucard."

I might not be powerful enough yet to turn him into a lesser ghoul, but if I could weaken him enough where his body couldn't fight off the infection, it would be theoretically possible. If he gets turned into a ghoul, someone as powerful as him would most likely cause a city-wide epidemic with the amount of people he would be able to infect.

But that wasn't my goal as of now. I wanted his death to be felt. I don't mean in a torture your enemy until he dies kind of way. I mean a tragedy that would hurt more than just him. I aimed to break him and everyone he cared about, both physically and psychologically. That will be my revenge for what he has done to Isabella.

"Darling… your eyes are glowing."

Selthia's words brought me out of my trance-like state.

"Lee?"

Seeing the girls' worried faces, I calmed myself down and gave them a kind smile while assuring them that I was fine.

"The main reason we are doing it like this is because I want us to focus most of our efforts on Allucard since he's the one most dangerous."

"What about the clan leader?" Kumo asked.

"Kaguya informed me that the mistress is rarely at the mansion while the clan head is away on some business. She also said today is the day he'll return." I said.

Their expressions froze when they heard this.

"You can't be serious? Isn't it more dangerous this way. Maybe we should rethink," Selthia suggested.

"She's right," Kumo agreed. "If we can't handle Allucard, what chance do we have against the clan's head?"

"It will be fine," I assured them. "This only means we have a time limit. Plus, his return is also worked into the plan I have in store."

"Sylvie trusts Lee."

Sylvie was the first to agree with me, but I figured that must've been because she wanted head pats. I obliged her and began petting her head, and she immediately fell into my arms.

"Hey, I trust you too; I was just making sure it wasn't too risky for you," Selthia pouted.

"I trust you too, darling," Kumo followed up.

"Good, now that we're all on the same page, let's continue with the first stage of the plan."

They all nodded in agreement, their eyes filled with conviction. All we had to do now was wait until Kaguya made her move. That's it.

Time ticked away as I waited for the first sign that things were commencing smoothly. Soon, I smelled a scent of blood akin to sewage waste. I knew immediately that this was the first person to be turned into a ghoul.

Soon, I smelled more vile blood, and I knew that this was the signal we were waiting for. More vampires had been turned to ghouls. Once the infection began to spread, it was only a matter of time, and that was when we made our move. Under the cover of darkness, we approached the mansion.

The outside was still being secured by vampires who were blissfully unaware of what was going on. Using our stealth, we easily dispatched them. Sylvie snuck up on one of them who was guarding the main gate.

Using her speed and strength, she dispatched him with a single precise blow to the base of the neck, taking the vampire's head with the force she released. While Selthia harnessed the power of her water magic and struck the other through the heart.

They both fell without getting the chance to fight back.

"Good job," I whispered to both of them while simultaneously giving them both pats on the head.

After that, we continued through the gate towards the mansion. We made our way through the garden towards the back entrance since it was less secured, and that's when we first caught a glimpse of the nature of the infection.

There was a vampire turned ghoul devouring another vampire as he screamed and tried to fight back. Even after the vampire was long dead, the ghoul continued in its single-minded pursuit of devouring the body until there was nothing left but bone. The only sound in the silent night was the sound of flesh being teared through.

The ghouls were programmed to eat meat until their 24-hour lifespan expires and they die, giving me EXP. And all it took was a scratch to create more ghouls, forming an endless cycle.

I still marveled at this power that I had. This Ghoul King Bloodline was really something to behold. I could hardly believe that I had been given such a gift. Soon, more scenes similar to this began to unfold around us. The smell of blood and raw flesh stained the air itself. I could feel a slight increase in power whenever a ghoul died, but nothing strong enough for me to advance to the next level.

We then entered the mansion. I could feel Isabella's presence stronger than ever. She was close, and I caught her scent telling me exactly where she was. But before I could dwell on where she was, my attention was drawn by a man inside the mansion, clearly waiting for us.

This man had long blonde hair that fell onto his chest as he sat in an leopard printed couch, holding a glass of wine in his right hand. This man was surrounded by vampires. Vampires who weren't affected by the infection.

Kaguya was one of them. She watched on with indifference.

The rest of the vampires surrounding this man were dressed in black. Their skins were as pale as ghosts and their eyes was as red as blood itself.

It didn't take much effort to figure out that this man must've been Allucard. He flashed a smile before setting his drink aside and speaking.

"So you are him… the wolf."
