I Will Teach You How to Hunt Gods

Chapter 56: Jing-Colored Tray

Yun You gazed at the ground with joy, but soon she realized that the Headless Monster hadn't left her much food.

The little girl didn't kill too many people this time, just four small gangsters and one Qian Sanjin in total.

In terms of "nutritional value," even if their number were multiplied by 10, they wouldn't compare to that Mad Spirit guy.

Just these five pitiful corpses, yet during the fight, the Headless Monster devoured three of them, leaving only two piles of remains smashed by a heartbeat shockwave for Yun You.

As for the monster itself? It had long turned to ash.

"What a big loss..."

Yun You muttered softly.

But she still had to eat.

Sighing helplessly, the little girl began to absorb honestly.

...

A few minutes later, most of the corpses and blood on the ground had disappeared, leaving only the elderly man with the shattered skull lying there.

Not absorbing ordinary people who had nothing to do with her was Yun You's bottom line.

Unless necessary, she wouldn't touch these people's corpses.

Besides, given her current state, the two remains were already enough for her to absorb.

Perhaps because the internal organs and bones were completely shattered, Yun You felt that digesting those gang members always had a very "soft and glutinous" sensation, like tasting a cheese-filled sausage...

Just a slight absorption, and the warm energy gushed out, making "eating" quite thrilling.

However, just like eating fried chicken or burgers, this stuff did nothing more than fill her stomach and slightly heal Yun You's internal injuries.

They couldn't enhance Yun You's strength like the Apprentice Death God's relics.

The energy quality between them was vastly different.

And Yun You's "appetite" had become more immense and greedy with each meal.

Ordinary food could no longer satisfy her.

Energy remains constant; it doesn't disappear into thin air, nor does it increase or decrease without reason.

Yun You understood this, so she had long been aware of this point.

"It seems I need to hunt more Apprentice Death Gods in the future."

The little girl thought silently, then got up and walked to the corner where the pentagram pattern had once been.

Here, the Headless Monster's figure had long vanished, leaving only lumps of gray.

Initially, Yun You thought that guy had left nothing behind, coming and going like a miserly iron rooster.

But upon closer inspection, she caught sight of a rather peculiar object beneath the layers of gray.

It was a golden metal disc, about a finger thick, entirely gold in color, hefty in hand, at least over five pounds.

The face-up side was polished very smooth, like a polished copper mirror, even clearly reflecting Yun You's face.

The underside, however, was carved with countless bizarre reliefs, depicting people kneeling with palms together, fierce demons holding steel forks, and even twisted-faced monsters rampaging the world of the relief, slaughtering mortals.

But the most numerous and impressive reliefs belonged to a lotus platform floating in the air, and the "Extraordinaries" seated on it.

Their bodies were tall and mighty, with three heads and six arms, each hand forming a hand seal or holding a magic tool, and there were gleaming golden halos behind them, highlighting their greatness and extraordinary nature.

The expressions of these transcendental beings were serene, with a seemingly "salvation" intention.

But expressions were one thing, actions were another.

Faced with people bullied by demons, faced with their devout Believers, the Extraordinaries never acted, merely watching the worldly affairs in silence, with a smile so faint it sent chills down spines.

If it weren't for their overly heroic and righteous images, Yun You would think these Extraordinaries were actually on the monster's side.

But thinking about it, that possibility seemed quite likely...

"Strange thing."

Yun You examined the disc in her hand, inevitably recalling the white crystal she found in the remains of the suited robot.

These mutant creatures were like elite monsters in video games, leaving no corpses but always dropping some odd items...

"Could it be a hidden item?"

The little girl pondered, took out the crystal from her pocket, pressed the two together, and silently chanted "fusion"!

The result, of course, was nothing happened.

She tried knocking, colliding, even the legendary "blood recognition," but ultimately, neither unlucky thing showed any change.

"Annoying..."

Yun You scratched her head, complaining quietly, "Should have asked Old Jin."

"Oh well, maybe it's a special item that requires certain conditions to use."

"Better ask Old Jin when I enter the Ethernet later."

Thinking this, the girl pocketed the crystal and took the metal disc as well.

She took a few steps toward the door, intending to call Kasidelle, who was guarding outside.

But just then, the Red Scale on the back of her hand made a "buzz," and shot out a red light!

The light was like an invisible hand, tightly gripping Yun You's arm and spirit, forcibly halting her steps.

Yun You was slightly taken aback.

She instinctively followed the light, looking at what it was pointing at.

On the bare concrete ground, two Mantis Blades flashing yellow lightning lay quietly.

These were the only weapons from a giant corporation in the Insect Gang, and the only Mantis Blades left undamaged after the fierce battle.

Yun You had intended to take this blade as her personal weapon.

But now, she had abandoned that idea.

Because as Red Scale approached the Mantis Blade, it kept flashing, even conveying an unprecedented sense of "desire" through a conscious exchange with Yun You.

It seemed to want the Mantis Blade...

Or rather, it wanted to "devour it."

Just like Yun You "eats people," the blazing Giant Claw within the Red Scale also wanted to feast! To swallow the metal and parts of the Mantis Blade into that nonexistent gluttonous stomach.

"Are you sure you want to eat it?"

At first, Yun You doubted whether she was hallucinating.

After all, there were just too many mental disorders in Nest City.

Overloading prostheses, taking the wrong medication, excessive killing, or even consuming too much small workshop-produced nutrient solution could lead to cyber psychosis.

Having a brain plagued by illness, producing hallucinations, was all too common.

But Red Scale once again released an even stronger red light, tugging Yun You's arm heavily, expressing its displeasure and urgency through action.

This time, Yun You finally believed she probably wasn't suffering from cyber psychosis.
