I Only Marry Widows

Chapter 88: Tongyou Sword Talisman (Subscription Request) 2

But for him, it had already saved a tremendous amount of wealth and resources, because every time the Sword Talisman Out-of-Body happened, it would lose a massive amount of Essence Qi, and the remaining Essence Qi would then be used to draw the Sword Talisman.

Lu Chengfeng had a meticulous control over the Essence, Qi, and Spirit, naturally expending very little. Drawing the Tongyou Sword Seal in one go saved the loss of two Sword Talisman Out-of-Body incidents.

...

In the dark and cramped room, it was impossible to perceive the passage of time. Lu Chengfeng was in a deep sleep when suddenly a sharp beam of sunlight shone on his face, followed by the sound of clanging, as if some weapon had fallen on the ground.

He instantly woke up, eyes snapping open, as if a flash of sword light had passed. Looking up, he saw three burly figures approaching against the light, their features indistinguishable.

One of them stepped forward, kicking Lu Chengfeng and Li Mo each, and rudely said, "The two of you, wake up."

"Grab a knife and follow along."

"As long as there's bloodshed today, it's considered your initiation, from now on, you're one of us."

Lu Chengfeng struggled to get up from the ground, feeling weak in his limbs, the depletion from his breakthrough had yet to be replenished.

Li Mo was not in much better condition; his body was weak, having been suspended and soaked in water for three days, then locked in this sunless room, with poor food and sleep, leaving him extremely frail.

Hearing the bandits' words, Lu Chengfeng didn't hesitate, picking up a knife from the ground. Calling it a knife was somewhat of an overstatement; it was roughly crafted from iron, barely sharpened, likely hard-pressed to even cut a finger.

Li Mo, having not seen sunlight for a long time, rubbed his eyes hard and shook his head before finding the knife dropped on the ground. After picking it up, he walked over to Lu Chengfeng's side.

"Alright, follow me!" said the leading bandit, turning directly to walk out through the door.

"You two, keep up."

Someone from behind pushed the two of them roughly, with a hostile attitude.

Lu Chengfeng gripped the iron saber in his hand; although his entire body was extremely weak, as if returning to his childhood, he could distinctly feel the Sword Talisman at his brow.

He was confident that, even at the weakest point, he could easily slay his former self with just Sword Intent alone.

The Sword Intent had condensed, making him almost a different person altogether, with a qualitative change in Martial Arts Realm.

The bandits in front of him, though tall, burly, and robust, would be as easy to kill as dogs should he take action.

Following the bandits out of the room, Lu Chengfeng and Li Mo found themselves in a small mountain hollow at the base of the mountain; the place was extremely secretive, with an entrance covered entirely by trees.

It was hard to find this place without someone leading the way.

While exiting, he noticed that the mountain hollow had many sentries both overt and covert, with tight security.

Apart from their group, another twenty to thirty people gradually joined in.

Leading them was a bald Great Han, standing six feet tall, wielding a Wolf-toothed Club, with a full face of stubble, looking extremely fierce.

Standing in the clearing of the mountain hollow, and waiting until about fifty bandits gathered, he shouted, "Alright, follow me! Our scouting brothers found a fat sheep today, hauling three carts of goods, with women in the convoy."

"Today, we'll have a good time; if anyone dares not to obey, I'll smash his head first."

Hearing this, the bandits gathered there showed excited expressions, many of them howling, waving weapons while shouting out loud.

"Shut up, all of you, no noise from now on."

The bald, stubbly bandit leader cursed, and the bandits immediately quieted down. The leader then took the lead and headed out of the mountain hollow, quickly walking along a forest trail.

They did not pass by a water pond but instead took another mountain path, skirting to the other side and ambushed on both sides of a forest.

Lu Chengfeng and Li Mo were constantly watched by seven to eight people around them, the leader of whom was called Crow, holding a Steel Saber, with hands covered in thick calluses, evidently skilled in External Skills.

"Stay put here quietly, make no sound, and do not move until I call for you."

"Understood?"

Crow was a lean man looking over forty years old, with high cheekbones and barely any hair on his head, appearing rather eerie like a skeleton.

Lu Chengfeng and Li Mo both agreed in response.

The group of bandits hid on both sides of the forest, making not a sound, waiting for over a two-hour period without seeing a single figure.

It was Lu Chengfeng's first time doing such robbery activities, realizing that being a bandit wasn't easy, hiding in the forest where snakes, insects, and poisonous ants roamed rampant. Early spring was tolerable, but come summer, just the mosquitoes would eat a person alive.

Waiting in this spot for half a day without moving or making a sound, it was truly a form of suffering.

After waiting for about another quarter of an hour, they finally saw several carriages slowly approaching in the distance, with flags on the carriages swaying in the air as if belonging to some Escort Agency.

At the front of the carriage, two escorting men with flags on their backs were shouting loudly with powerful voices.
