Traveler of the River of Time and Space

Chapter 18: Red Dragon 1

Abyssal Blood Pool.

Su Ziyu looked at the demon army gathered before him and couldn't help but smile slightly.

He had already been in this world for a week.

Everything had gone even smoother than he had imagined. In just one week, he had amassed nearly eight thousand in the demon army. If the casualties in the upcoming battles weren't too severe, he would rapidly expand his territory, extend the base outward, and then search for the traces of devils. Once the devils were defeated, his mission would be nearly complete.

The Time Acceleration ability was crucial.

Without retaining the Time Acceleration ability of the Space-Time Monitor System, Su Ziyu would never have been able to kill a Legendary Level Nine-headed Serpent Lizard at that time.

This Death God's game is much like a management strategy game.

The further into the late game, the more one relies on a snowball effect to grow stronger. Demons are a Race that starts with great difficulty but can easily mass produce troops in the late game. If he had been heavily wounded by the Nine-headed Serpent Lizard and not killed this legendary creature, all his hard work over the past few days would have been in vain, and he wouldn't know when he could amass enough forces for external expansion.

Another very important factor was that Witch Demon.

In this world, Su Ziyu had already encountered Fire Giants, Giant Dragons, and Witch Demons; none of them were easy foes.

But fortunately, that Witch Demon seemed to be engaged in some unknown activities and never showed up even once. Su Ziyu also didn't attack the Skeleton Fortress, just cleared out the Undead around the Soul Summoning Tower.

This wave of improvement was colossal!

Within a short period, Su Ziyu accumulated a large amount of Soul Value and Power of Slaughter, quickly building the entire camp to the scale of a town.

Without the Witch Demon's Soul Summoning Tower, he would have had to spend a long time accumulating resources for expansion.

Profits must outstrip losses to support Su Ziyu's further territorial expansion.

Seven days.

For a Giant Dragon, that's just the time it takes to take a nap after a meal.

Giant Dragons have an extremely long lifespan.

Their life forms are very unique; they need to undergo periods of dormancy to grow. During their metamorphic periods, a Giant Dragon might need to sleep for several months or even years after eating. If that Red Dragon wasn't aware at the time, it probably still wouldn't know that a powerful Demon Lord had risen nearby.

However, ambushing a Giant Dragon is very difficult.

Because true Giant Dragons have many Vassal Races, you might not even be able to slip in; getting close would likely get you discovered by those Vassal Races.

Unless you're a High Tier Wanderer, you won't even touch the vicinity of the Dragon Nest.

During this period, the Abyssal Prowler returned with vast amounts of intelligence, preliminarily identifying that within the Red Dragon's territory are likely thousands of Kobolds, though they are widely dispersed in small clans. The strength of Kobolds is very weak, but once they awaken their Dragon Veins, their strength is decent, and some Kobold Warlocks exist among them.

After passing through the Kobold defenses, you encounter the main units of the Vassal Races.

Mainly Minotaurs, Ogres, Trolls, and Two-legged Flying Dragons, the Abyssal Prowler cannot get close to the Dragon Nest, so the situation inside remains unknown.

The demon army was fully assembled that day.

This time, Su Ziyu brought nearly six thousand demons, leaving the rest back at headquarters.

He brought along the main forces this time because he wasn't very clear about the situation with the Red Dragon, only leaving some minor demons to continue building at the headquarters.

The mighty demon army marched on.

Soon, in Su Ziyu's sight, signs of Kobold activity appeared.

The first reaction of the Kobolds upon seeing Su Ziyu was to flee. These Kobolds spoke in a manner somewhat like barking dogs and surrendered immediately after being surrounded by the demon army, which could be considered quite spineless.

"Kill the Warlocks!"

"Capture the rest as prisoners," Su Ziyu waved his hand, and the demons swarmed forward.

Ordinary Kobolds could serve as labor, but for the Kobold Warlocks, he preferred their souls because these Professional Kobolds had good potential when converted into demons.

Middle Tier demons didn't even need to lift a finger, as Frenzy Demons charged and easily crushed these Kobolds.

Kleia's desire for battle was clearly higher than that of the Enchanting Demon deputy. She led the charge, wildly thrashing at the Kobolds with her long whip. This Enchanting Demon converted from a Drow Elf Warlock seemed to have a penchant for devastation.

She was adept at enslavement.

The demon invasion seemed to be quickly discovered, as Su Ziyu saw Two-legged Flying Dragons soaring through the distant sky.

By the time he crossed the Kobold defenses, a chaotic army appeared within sight. They were mainly composed of Minotaurs, Ogres, and Trolls, with Ogres as the primary force. There were about two to three hundred Minotaurs, and several Two-legged Flying Dragons appeared in the sky.

"Demon! Leave this place!"

"This is the domain of the great Red Dragon - Octavia!"

A deep roar echoed.

Upon entering the territory of the Red Dragon, the temperature around seemed to rise, faintly scented with sulfur. Before Su Ziyu appeared a two-headed Ogre who seemed to be a Caster, threatening the demons: "If you dare step forward, it will mean war with an adult Red Dragon!"

Giant Dragons become increasingly powerful with age, and an adult Red Dragon is a formidable adversary.

"Attack!" Su Ziyu ordered impassively with a wave.

After so many battles, he had lost all hope in the discipline of demons.

Even with the construction of a Military Camp, demons still charged chaotically.

Currently, only Middle Tier demons retained some discipline, but they were still far from a true army. Demons' greatest advantages were their inherent power and vast numbers.

What orders? Just send them in with a wave!

Roar!

A ferocious roar erupted as Su Ziyu issued the command, with Frenzy Demons and Frenzy Human-Demons leading the charge at the front. They were extremely combative demons, always rushing to the front when given a chance. Behind the Frenzy Human-Demons were swarms of Sharp Claw Demons, with minor demons swarming behind.

The other Middle Tier demons remained by his side, with two Enchanting Demons flanking Su Ziyu.

Boom!

A brutally intense massacre erupted instantly.

The Vassal Races of this Red Dragon were all formidable, with Ogres fearlessly confronting demons head-on, and Minotaurs roaring boldly as they charged directly. These creatures were over two meters tall, most armed with rather fine weaponry, and there were many Casters among them. The battle just began, and the demons sustained not insignificant casualties.
