"Gained 5 Source Power Points!"
"Gained 1 Source Power Point!"
"Gained 1 Source Power Point!"
When Su Ziyu appeared again, he was already behind the mountain child's back. He slowly sheathed the Meteor, and behind him, the headless corpse of the mountain child collapsed with a loud crash.
He's really gotten so much stronger!
And the demons in this world yield quite a bounty. A mere mountain child can provide Source Power Points comparable to a super mutant. Is it because demons are inherently supernatural beings?
A small BOSS, four elite monsters.
Su Ziyu easily harvested 9 Source Power Points, but the difficulty of the battle felt much lower than in other worlds. Whether in the Wasteland World or the Demon Hunter World, monsters that offer so many power points are quite hard to kill. Be it a super mutant or a high-ranking vampire, none are as easily slain as this mountain child with just a single sword strike.
This mountain child had astonishing brute strength that was quite special, but if it couldn't hit Su Ziyu, no amount of strength would matter.
Su Ziyu's increased strength was one part of it. Another part was that the demons in this world didn't seem to have the tenacious life force of super mutants or high-ranking vampires. These mountain goblins could be killed by decapitating them or piercing their hearts. They might have some special abilities, but even ordinary samurai had the chance to take them down.
"Looks like I'll have to take a stroll around Fusang." Su Ziyu shook his head and walked into the house before him.
Inside, it was filthy, stinking, and disgusting.
A large amount of goods piled up in the corners, along with some gold and silver jewelry, and on the floor lay human skeletal remains that were ghastly to behold. Su Ziyu merely glanced at them and then walked out.
With telekinesis, he ignited a great fire, which soon consumed everything before him.
He didn't lack gold or silver, and ordinary goods were useless. These demons seemed quite poor, without a decent trinket on them. As expected, country demons couldn't compare with the wealth of Kyoto demons.
Tonight's harvest wasn't bad.
It had been a long time since Su Ziyu had so easily collected such a quantity of Source Power Points.
Honestly, although this mountain child was at BOSS level, its danger level was about the same as the ghost woman in the Demon Hunter World. The pity was that there weren't more of them; a few more would've been great.
After torching the mountain child's lair, Su Ziyu prepared to head to Edo.
He had no intention of going to Sanhe Province to claim a reward, as he wasn't interested in what ordinary people offered. He'd simply do a good deed anonymously.
A gentle breeze blew past.
Not long after Su Ziyu left, a bald elder in fine clothes appeared on Shijue Mountain, wandering leisurely, and soon arrived next to the collapsed house.
"Hiss!"
After glancing at the demon corpses surrounding them, the bald elder's expression turned stern. He mumbled, "Is it really that powerful?"
All the demons were killed in a single blow!
Even the mountain child didn't force Su Ziyu to swing a second sword. The bald elder looked at the incredibly smooth severed neck and said in a deep voice, "Even if Abe no Seimei were here, it's unlikely he could manage this with such ease, right?"
At this point, the bald elder fell into deep thought, as if pondering something.
"Sigh." After a while, he let out a gentle sigh, walked over, picked up the mountain child's head, and placed it next to the body. Then, with a flick, he sent out a wisp of ghostly blue flame that swiftly consumed the demon corpses, reducing them to ashes in an instant.
Demons harm people; people kill demons.
Although the Noppera-bo was once a demon leader, he only protected those weak and harmless demons. If any broke this rule and were killed by humans, he would at most help tend to the corpses if he happened upon them.
"Baku! Are you there?" The Noppera-bo walked a few steps and spoke softly.
The surroundings remained unresponsive.
But after a while, a lazy voice echoed in the Noppera-bo's mind, "What do you want? Is there another interesting nightmare?"
Although there was still nothing around, it seemed as if something had subtly changed.
"Who is this person? Do you know?" Noppera-bo inquired quietly.
"I don't know." The lazy voice echoed again in his mind, sounding a bit impatient, "Although I came from Central Earth, I'm not familiar with cultivators from there."
"Such skilled swordsmanship!"
"Perhaps he's a disciple of Lv Chunyang."
Lv Chunyang?
On hearing Baku's words, Noppera-bo paused, hesitating, "Really?"
If he were truly a disciple of that person, there might be hope.
"How would I know! Just guessing!" Baku replied nonchalantly, transmitting, "If you want to know, go ask the Guhuo Bird in the Maple Forest. She sneaked back during the Tang Dynasty, but later someone beat her back."
Hearing that, Noppera-bo couldn't help but shrink his neck.
Even though he was once the demon leader, it was only among Fusang's native demons. He usually avoided provoking those river dragons from Central Earth.
The Guhuo Bird from the Maple Forest was notorious for her bad temper.
Unfortunately, not many could defeat her, and Noppera-bo was not eager to face this great demon.
"If there's nothing else, I'm off to eat." Baku's voice came, muttering, "Lately, there's been nothing delicious, and the nightmares those people have are too dull."
Noppera-bo quickly said, "Wait a moment!"
"What now?" Baku's voice sounded a bit impatient.
Noppera-bo paced for a bit and then said solemnly, "That person is intent on releasing Qing Ji. Could we use him to eliminate that threat?"
Qing Ji?
Baku's voice carried a hint of fear, whispering, "Are you crazy! That madwoman hasn't even escaped yet?"
"Why should we provoke her?"
"Even if Qing Ji is released, they'll suffer first."
"When she goes mad, she doesn't recognize her own kin!"
Noppera-bo's expression was quite serious as he slowly said, "I'm more worried about the creature sealed in Mount Fuji than Qing Ji."
"You know how Qing Ji became a demon, don't you?"
"Don't think I don't know you once tried to devour Qing Ji's nightmare and ended up severely injured, nearly burnt to charcoal?"
Upon hearing this, Baku remained silent for a moment.
Then, with a hint of embarrassment, it said, "I only felt sorry for her at first. Our Central Earth yokai are different from yours; we have compassion too."
"Pah! Is that compassion? You're just greedy!" Noppera-bo snorted coldly, "Never forget who saved you and cleaned up your mess."
Baku hesitated for a moment, then asked softly, "What do you plan to do?"
"Let me tell you this!"
"That woman really is a madwoman! I'm never going into her dreams again!"
Noppera-bo pondered for a moment and then said, "Let's wait and see."
"If he intends to go to Mount Fuji, there's a good chance he'll encounter Qing Ji. If there's an opportunity, we'll give it a try."
Baku's voice replied, "Alright."
"But Qing Ji's Fire of the Seven Emotions is truly formidable!"
"Love turns to hate."
"Obsessions become demonic."
"If she goes on a rampage, we might not be able to stop her!"
Noppera-bo remained silent, and after a while, he said, "We must give it a try. While the Nine-tailed Fox is still in Kyoto, we must solve the trouble with Qing Ji first."
"Did Qing Ji really become a demon because of it?" Baku asked cautiously.
Noppera-bo responded with a counter-question, "Do you really believe that a human woman would, through love, turn hate and obsession into a demon, becoming a great demon overnight?"
"And a great demon with a human head and snake body!"
"If it breaks out, no one will have peace."
Baku seemed slightly convinced, but remained stubborn, "Who says there won't be. Look at the Aobouzu in Kyoto?"
"She loves ghost stories so much."
"Once her Hundred Tales was completed, she became a great demon."
Noppera-bo snorted, "Aobouzu is different, she is..."
"Never mind."
"I'm not going to elaborate. Aobouzu is secretly keeping an eye on this person too, she even gave her Hundred Tales to him."
Baku huffed, "No more talk then."
"I'm off to eat!"
