Chapter 20: Gaining Fame

——"Spiritual Vision!"

Damn it!

Su Ziyu got up and drew the Meteor from his waist, directly activating his spiritual vision ability, and walked outside with a murderous aura.

Where?

Where did it hide?

That damn dream-eating monster? I will stew it!

Su Ziyu's figure soared into the air, flying around the vicinity with a murderous aura. As soon as he woke up, his first task was to settle the score with that dream-eating monster. However, he didn't expect the demon to be cunning. By the time he went outside, there wasn't even a ghostly shadow; the dream-eating monster could not be found, and no trace was left in the vicinity.

"You finally woke up!"

"What's wrong?"

"Are you okay? Why are you so angry? What happened?" Mu Lingji appeared under a tree, her expression slightly fearful, asking timidly as she watched Su Ziyu with a murderous look.

Even if there's fire in the heart, it shouldn't affect the innocent.

Su Ziyu stood where he was and took a deep breath, then slowly shook his head and said, "It's nothing. Have you seen a dream-eating monster nearby?"

"Dream-eating monster?" Mu Lingji's expression froze for a moment, then she gently shook her head and replied, "No! I'm familiar with all the demons around here!…"

"Did something happen?"

This dream-eating monster is quite formidable; even the Mountain Spirit here couldn't detect its trace.

"I just had a very, very long dream!…" Su Ziyu shook his head lightly. Scenes flashed in his mind of Qing Ji cautiously winding around An Zhen's corpse and then perishing together in the sea of fire. In fact, his consciousness didn't disconnect until the very end. Originally, Su Ziyu harbored some resentment towards Qing Ji, but in that final moment, all his resentment vanished.

She was also extremely obstinate and pitiable!

Although she burned Su Ziyu to death many times, her final act of willingness to die together made Su Ziyu unable to hold any more hatred.

"Dream?" Mu Lingji cautiously asked, "Was it the dream-eating monster's doing?"

"It's a Great Demon from the Eastern Land."

"I haven't heard of it harming people before. Could it be some sort of prank?"

"It is said to enjoy eating nightmares! If there are no nightmares, it might make someone have a nightmare and then eat it up!"

Nightmare?

Last night was a very, very prolonged nightmare, right?

Su Ziyu was burned to death many times by Qing Ji, and the pain he felt was vividly clear. But the conclusion was not a nightmare; instead, it left Su Ziyu deeply touched.

"How long have I been asleep?" Su Ziyu asked slowly.

"Two and a half days." Mu Lingji cautiously replied, "I thought it was because of the poison. I didn't expect it was because of encountering the dream-eating monster."

"It was all because I was too careless."

"If I had been vigilant, it wouldn't have had the chance to get close."

What a truly kind-hearted demon.

Mu Lingji also came to see Su Ziyu, but since Su Ziyu's vital signs were normal, just in a deep sleep, she thought it was due to exhaustion of spirit or leftover venom from the Jorogumo, so she didn't attempt to wake him from the outside.

"It's not your fault." Su Ziyu smiled at Mu Lingji in front of him and said, "Thanks for your help this time."

"I…I actually didn't help much!" Mu Lingji seemed slightly shy.

"By the way, drink this." Mu Lingji carefully held out a tender green leaf, saying, "You haven't eaten anything all day. Drinking this can replenish your energy."

Indeed, he was feeling a bit hungry.

Su Ziyu accepted the dew without hesitation and drank it all, then asked, "Can you eat ordinary human food?"

"Me? Me? I can eat a little!" Mu Lingji replied softly.

"Great. I'm hungry too. Let's have some grilled fish together." Taking out a tuna he had with him, Su Ziyu then pulled out a bottle of wine, somewhat regretful, and said, "Only one bottle left. Let's finish it today."

He hadn't brought much Druid fruit wine; he could ask for more when he returned.

It really tastes quite good.

"This wine smells wonderful!" Mu Lingji seemed uninterested in the tuna but was very tempted by the Druid fruit wine, her small face showing a look of greed but somewhat embarrassed.

Su Ziyu poured her a glass, smiling softly, "Try it!"

Mu Lingji reached out and took it, drinking it all in one go. A blush appeared on her delicate face, seeming slightly tipsy as she said, "Delicious! I want more!"

This meal turned out to be delightful for both host and guest.

Though Mu Lingji didn't touch the tuna much, she kept drinking cup after cup of wine, getting a bit tipsy, and called over a similarly tipsy butterfly spirit. The two beauties, one large and one small, danced in the clearing amidst falling leaves, their movements gracefully light and spontaneous. Su Ziyu smiled, clapping along, while two small squirrels perched on a branch watched the show.

At last, Mu Lingji seemed a bit drunk. As she bid farewell to Su Ziyu, her eyes were slightly reddened, and she whispered, "Will you come to see me again?"

"If I have the chance, I will definitely come," Su Ziyu smiled and nodded.

He still owed her a favor, and he would make sure to repay it if given the chance.

"Next time you come, I'll treat you to wine." Mu Lingji smiled softly and whispered, "I know what fruits are used in this kind of wine. Next time, I'll let you taste the wine I'll brew myself."
