Chapter 46: Jade Dew_2

If it's the refinement of the Soul Beads, then there is nothing unusual.

But if Su Ziyu directly refines ghosts, the Demon Gourd's pollution value will increase. He suspects that this is how Jiutun Tongzi turned it into a contaminated entity. This Great Demon somehow got his hands on this Demon Gourd, and it's said that after occupying Danbo Mountain, Jiutun Tongzi used human blood to brew wine, probably allowing the Demon Gourd to directly refine it.

"Can it even refine humans?" Su Ziyu was a bit curious, but dared not try it easily.

If he turns the Demon Gourd into a contaminated entity again, he would suffer a huge loss.

"Let's see if there are any ghosts around." Su Ziyu got up and looked at the sky. Since he couldn't sleep anyway, he might as well take a stroll in the Underworld.

There weren't many ghosts wandering in the Underworld nowadays.

Su Ziyu hadn't walked for long when he encountered a patrol team. They were quite vigilant upon seeing him from afar, only to respectfully say, "Master Su!" after recognizing him.

"Are there any demons nearby?" Su Ziyu asked.

The night patrol exchanged cautious glances and said, "All the wandering ghosts in this area have been captured. There are definitely no demons around here."

I'm not here to blame you guys, why so cautious?

But it seems that there are indeed fewer wandering souls in the Underworld now, with patrols every few miles. Recently, Yama has promoted many Ghost Messengers. I wonder what kind of power her sealing ceremony possesses, being able to bestow considerable strength upon Patrolling Ghost Messengers.

Flying around Ghost Capital, Su Ziyu only found some wandering ghosts, which vanished upon contact with Spiritual Lightning, dropping only two or three Soul Beads.

They were of the lowest quality.

The entire vicinity of Ghost Capital was quite peaceful; he couldn't even find any wild creatures.

Huh?

What's this?

While wandering aimlessly in the Underworld, Su Ziyu suddenly stopped, looking down to find a rather ugly-looking mushroom. Black with vague human faces and faintly glowing purplish, it looked potentially poisonous. Initially, Su Ziyu had no interest in such things, but a data prompt was triggered on it.

—— "Ghost Mushroom (Refinable)!"

Is this possible?

Curiously, Su Ziyu pointed with the Demon Gourd and commanded, "Absorb!"

The Demon Gourd expanded, pulling the Ghost Mushroom beneath him directly inside with a gust of suction. Discovering over a dozen around, he decided to collect them all at once.

The Demon Gourd visibly became much heavier.

Su Ziyu weighed it in his hands; it seemed to have gained over a pound. Peering inside, he saw the collected Ghost Mushrooms being enveloped by a faint gray mist, gradually turning into a liquid-like form.

Each Ghost Mushroom could refine about 1 point of Energy Value.

Now, Su Ziyu felt like he had found a new toy, wielding the Demon Gourd and wandering the wild mountains of the Underworld to see if he could find other refinable things.

He actually did find some.

Ghost Mushrooms were the most common, primarily growing in places dense with Yin energy, each yielding roughly one Energy Value, though refining them was slower than refining Soul Beads.

He also found some 'Moonlight Grass,' though not abundant, each refining for 5 Energy Value points.

The biggest find came from a cliff in the Underworld.

While wandering out of boredom, Su Ziyu spotted a speck of red light, flew over, and found a reishi-like thing, dark red and feeling like wood. Refining it increased Energy Value by a full 150 points. Su Ziyu tried searching for more nearby but found only one. As darkness was falling, he reluctantly gave up.

Tonight, he learned a little trick: once activating Spiritual Vision, any plant with Spiritual Light was generally something refinable.

Most of what he found seemed to be medicinal herbs.

By the time Su Ziyu returned, the Energy Value stored in the Demon Gourd exceeded 1100 points, enough to refine a batch of Jade Dew. He had pretty much scraped clean the refinables near Ghost Capital.

Who knows when these Underworld herbs will grow back.

A faint aroma of wine permeated the air.

As Su Ziyu refined the stored Energy Value, a very distinct wine aroma emerged from the Demon Gourd. Unlike the bloody scent it had under Jiutun Tongzi's control, Su Ziyu's refined version was somewhat like a medicinal fragrance. He took a sniff under his nose, indeed noting a hint of medicinal wine, the scent immensely soothing and elating.

It seemed very drinkable.

Although Su Ziyu rarely drank, mostly sipping along with Van Helsing and those Demon Hunters, he poured a cup from the Demon Gourd to inspect. The liquid indeed turned out to be Jade Dew, a jade-colored, amber-like fluid.

—— "Jade Dew (Legendary Artifact)"

"Effect: A spirit-rich wine, consumption permanently enhances physical attributes and Energy Value limits, while slightly extending lifespan limits."

A Legendary Artifact?

The Demon Gourd's refinement yielded enough Jade Dew for just one cup, yet upon pouring it out, it manifested as a standalone Legendary Artifact.

However, once poured, the Jade Dew's spirituality began dissipating.

Su Ziyu hurriedly drank it all!

Moments later.

He smacked his lips with incomplete satisfaction, lamenting, "How could it be so little? I couldn't even taste it properly!"

Su Ziyu had never tasted such fine wine before.

It was a pity, being so scant that he couldn't savor it fully, the cup empty before he could discern its flavor. The Jade Dew almost melted in his mouth, transforming into a warm current flowing through his body. Rather than savoring exquisite wine, it was more like savoring Spiritual Qi.

Su Ziyu felt a comforting warmth throughout, as his Spiritual Ability Value limit gradually increased.

The entire process took about ten minutes, with the warming sensation slowly dissipating. After feeling his body, Su Ziyu noted an approximate 3% increase in Spiritual Ability Value limit, though he didn't sense any significant Physical Enhancement, just a warm flow through his bones.

There was still some Energy Value left in the Demon Gourd.

Having barely satisfied his desire for Jade Dew, Su Ziyu decided to refine another batch of Immortal Brew, figuring he could use it since he still had slight injuries.

This time.

A strong wine fragrance wafted from the Demon Gourd.

The scent was like pure wine, strongly fragrant with a long aftertaste. Su Ziyu poured a portion, noting the Immortal Brew filled about one-third of the gourd, a significantly greater volume than Jade Dew.

The liquid, too, was replete with captivating jade-hued amber nectar, albeit paler than Jade Dew.

This time, Su Ziyu actually tasted the wine.

The Immortal Brew didn't dissolve instantly, releasing a rich aroma in the mouth, deliciously sweet, akin to fruit wine.

Its only downside was its headiness.

After just one cup, Su Ziyu felt slightly tipsy, wondering if his tolerance was lacking.

—— "Immortal Brew (Curiosity Level)"

"Effect: A spirit-condensed wine, consumption heals injuries and replenishes depleted energy."

The Demon Gourd can produce two types of curiosities.

One is an ordinary curiosity-level Immortal Brew, the other a legendary artifact-level Jade Dew.
