The Girls Are All Coveting Me

Chapter 306: A Belated Confession

"Aisha, over here."

Everyone looked at Aisha with surprised expressions.

Aisha hesitated for a moment but quickly walked over:

"Your current level isn't suitable for the front line. Follow me to the forefront. Later, I'll open up some of the Maze Monsters for you to practice fighting. Prepare yourself mentally."

"Y-Yes!"

The panicked Aisha didn't expect to find time alone with Chloe so quickly.

Everyone looked at Aisha with a bit of envy in their eyes.

Everyone knows that staying by Chloe's side is the safest.

Among those traveling this time, the one with the strongest overall combat power should be the head of the Extreme Association.

Location: Abyss of Woe · 16th Floor

The azure Magic Crystal Stones flickered on the rock walls, casting Chloe's face into alternating shadows and light.

He gripped the temporary short sword in his hand, crushing an Abyssal Beetle the size of a fist under his boot. The sound of its shell cracking echoed crisply in the corridor.

"The density of demons on the fifteenth floor was unusual." Aisha crouched down, her fingertips brushing the purple blood stains in the stone crevice. "Only encountering three waves of low-level demons in three hours, this floor has been swept clean by someone."

"No matter, let's keep going. There's no sense of danger in the surroundings."

Aisha's gaze now turned towards Chloe.

She hadn't had the chance to be alone with Chloe for a very long time.

Though it wasn't a romantic flower field, but rather the perilous Abyss of Woe.

Yet, with him by her side, Aisha felt especially at ease.

"How... have you been lately..."

Chloe spoke up.

Aisha was a bit stunned, taking a moment to realize that nearby, it was just her and senior.

"S-Senior, are you asking me?"

She asked with some confusion.

Chloe rolled his eyes and said, "Unless there's someone else alive here besides us?"

He snapped his fingers forward, and a rampaging thunderbolt shattered a hidden skeleton lurking in the corner.

He smiled and said, "Not many alive, but plenty of dead."

Perhaps having too much in her heart to say, Aisha couldn't organize her words for a long time.

Chloe wasn't annoyed, he just guided and asked:

"How is it? Are you having fun on this trip?"

"Uh, um, although it's tiring, it was really fun to play."

"As long as you had fun."

"And it's my first time seeing someone drink so much wine."

"You can't mean..."

"Laura."

"Haha, Laura really can drink. Did you see before, she even got Rephya drunk with the Divine Wine."

"I saw it, haha. Xiaolu was so adorable when drunk, but I don't know where she ran off to afterwards. I never found her and ended up sweating all over."

"..."

Chloe chuckled and remained silent.

You sweat a lot looking for Rephya.

I also sweat a lot when chasing after the Little Deer Girl.

Such synchronization.

Aisha's cheeks blushed slightly as she peeked at Chloe, whispering:

"S-Senior, have you been busy lately?"

"Yeah, to say busy is an understatement. Even coming all the way to the Abyss of Woe was out of necessity."

Azure water droplets dripped from the damp rock wall, and Chloe's boots crushed the moss with a soft crackle.

Aisha followed half a step behind, her gaze sweeping past senior's waistline outlined by the combat suit. She hurriedly averted her eyes to stare at her trembling fingertips.

"Watch out!"

Suddenly she was pulled by the waist, and as the world spun, her back hit the cold rock wall.

Chloe's breath brushed past her earlobe, and a short sword flew past her hair, pinning an attacking Shadow Bat to a stone pillar.

Aisha stared at the Adam's apple close at hand, catching a whiff of the faint scent of body wash from his collar.

"If you get distracted during a fight, you'll die, Aisha." Chloe said, his fingers brushing past her burning earlobe as he retreated, "Or is it... that I'm more attractive than the demons?"

"S-Senior, stop saying weird things out of the blue!"

Aisha clutched her about-to-burst ears, the blood energy entwining her Tachi exploded out of control, engulfing the two approaching Maze Monsters.

The crackle of burning demons echoed from the shadows, and Chloe chuckled as he used his cloak to shield her from the splattering slime.

Rounding the corner, Chloe suddenly came to a stop.

Aisha bumped into his back unexpectedly, her nose brushing against his warm hair.

"Shh—"

A warm hand covered her imminent cry, and Chloe frowned and said:

"Someone nearby has used Wide Area Detection Magic."

Aisha's hand, which was about to probe with blood energy, was gently pressed down.

Chloe's thumb rubbed the pulse at her wrist, as he leaned in to whisper, his lips nearly touching her ear:

"It's possible someone unfriendly is still around, stay focused."

Only then did she realize their posture was akin to an embracing couple, Chloe's cloak was draped over her, hiding her figure.

At this moment, Aisha noticed the shadows around were flowing like ink.

[The concealment effect brought by Shadow Power? What a splendid technique!]

Suddenly, dark purple mist seeped from the rock crevices, and Chloe quickly turned to shelter Aisha within the cloak.

Amidst the mist came the sound of metal scraping, as 12 headless knights in full-body armor flashed past from the front.

The undead bone horses beneath them let out continuous roars, their eye sockets burning with eerie green flames.

"How odd."

Chloe frowned.

Headless Knights are a type of Undead Knight.

Usually, they roam the Bottomless Abyss, occasionally a few Undead Knights may enter the Abyss of Woe.

However, regular Undead Knights are Abyssal creatures.

However, there are a very few Undead Knights created artificially by Necromancers.

"Their armor... is styled after the Roxie Empire."

Aisha said in amazement.

Aisha, being from a noble background, was sensitive to such details.

From the style of the armor to the patterns on it, everything indicated that these Headless Knights hailed from the Roxie Empire.

Or more accurately, they lived from the Roxie Empire.

"Something's not right; these Knight Order members are supposed to guard the surface, not deal with the matters of the Abyss of Woe."

"Perhaps something went awry."

"Then, what should we do next?"

"Are you going to deal with those Headless Knights?"

"Huh?" Aisha pointed at herself in confusion: "Me, alone?"

"I just told you, I brought you out here so you could learn some real combat techniques."

"Ugh~ I had hoped for something more."

Aisha tentatively said, then reluctantly drew her tachi, ready for battle.

"Wait."

"Hmm? Do you have other instructions, senior?"

"Are you planning to fight in that form?"

"Otherwise?"

"Use the Enchanting Demon Queen's abilities."

As soon as those words were spoken, Aisha froze.

"But, um..."

She was somewhat apprehensive about taking on the form of the Enchanting Demon Queen.

There was also a serious issue...

Transforming into the Enchanting Demon Queen would leave many parts of her body unhidden.

Chloe snorted and said:

"Alright, it's not like I haven't seen it before; there's no need for such restraint between us."

Aisha, her mind a bit frozen, nodded dizzily.

But a moment later, Aisha realized something was wrong.

[When did senior see my body? Could it be...]

Realizing this, Aisha's eyes flashed with an indescribable shyness.

Could it be that the dreams were not just her memories as she had guessed?

Previously, she had occasionally tested Chloe.

But senior had never revealed any such information.

Gradually, Aisha began to suspect that her dream experiences were a product of hysteria.

Of course, while doubting her life, the girl never ceased to express her affection for Chloe.

But now, hearing this news from Chloe suddenly, Aisha's heart couldn't help but race.

The past dream experiences came crashing like waves, veiling her eyes with mist.

Do you still want to seek the truth from Chloe?

But Chloe shook her head and said:

"Deal with these Headless Knights first, and then I'll tell you what you want to know, as much as I can."

Aisha nodded determinedly.

Her gaze fixed on the Headless Knights, she resolved to deal with them swiftly.

The Headless Knights were powerful, almost approaching Sequence Seven.

For the current Aisha, this group of creatures could seize her life at any moment.

—Provided there's no BUG watching from the side.

As the fight went on, Aisha sensed something was off.

If she managed to quickly take down one Headless Knight due to her skills initially,

the combat prowess she showed when besieged afterward perplexed her.

It was as if she was under some combat buff, growing stronger with each battle.

No...

This isn't a buff.

Her Extraordinary Origin was truly ascending!

"Wait! What's going on?!"

She hadn't encountered this phenomenon in the Maze before.

After the last Headless Knight fell, Chloe clapped her hands and said:

"Although I assisted you with Flesh and Blood Magic, being able to clear out the Headless Knights so quickly... Aisha, you've been working hard lately."

Hearing those familiar and warm words from her dream lover, Aisha felt a slight sting in her nose.

Since waking from her dreams, she hadn't heard Chloe say such things for a long time.

The girl raised her head, earnestly looking at Chloe, seemingly seeking an answer from him.

Chloe quietly looked at her and finally spoke:

"Cedric."

He offered no additional words.

Just that was enough.

Aisha stood there dumbfounded after hearing that name, lost and unable to react.

It was a long moment.

Her Charming Demon Eyes shimmered with pink and misty hues.

She gazed at Chloe with a dazed look and said:

"Was it not a dream?"

"Why would you think it was just a dream?"

"But..." Aisha gestured excitedly, "I tested you multiple times over a long period, but you always pretended not to know; I thought, I thought..."

"It wasn't just your one-sided feelings."

Chloe approached her, gently kneeling halfway in front of her and said:

"Aisha, our past was not an illusion... Also, I'm sorry it took so long to tell you this."
