Becoming Great Emperor by Playing Game

Chapter 175: The Heaven-Swallowing Gourd Drained the River

Causality River!

Chen Lan heard this and was momentarily stunned; wasn't this the very same Causality River that Da Zhuang mentioned?

Legend has it that it was drunk dry, could it be Sun Wukong who did it?

"However, there was a little incident when I was fetching the Causality River water," Sun Wukong said awkwardly, scratching his head.

"What kind of incident?" the man asked in confusion.

"The Causality River has a River God, and he didn't want to give me the river water, so I had a fight with him."

"I know about that; it seems the River God of that river is only at the Immortal Emperor level."

"Right, so I easily won, but soon many powerful beings came to stop me. In a fit of anger, I used a magical treasure to suck the entire river dry."

After saying that, Sun Wukong conjured a wooden gourd, "This is something I acquired by chance, a Celestial Dao Supreme Treasure, the Heaven-Swallowing Gourd, which can devour everything and store it inside; it can also refine things, and the entire Causality River is now inside it."

Upon hearing this, the man felt a bit awkward, and so did Chen Lan.

They originally thought the Causality River was drunk dry, but they didn't expect Sun Wukong to use a magical treasure to suck it dry, not leaving a single drop.

Why did no one know about Sun Wukong's actions, and instead, it spread elsewhere as being sucked dry by some powerful being?

Maybe it was too embarrassing for the guardians of the Causality River, and they didn't plan to spread the word.

Without thinking much, Chen Lan continued watching the scene in the mirror; the man had already taken the wooden gourd, uncorked it, sniffed it with his nose, and nodded, "It's the water from the Causality River."

"Thank you, Sun Wukong."

"You're welcome. Do you want the Causality River water to escape the causality on you and avoid the world cycle?"

"You could say that, or not," the man responded, taking out a piece of spirit grass from his pocket.

"What is this?" Sun Wukong asked.

"Forgetfulness Grass," the man said with a smile, putting the Forgetfulness Grass into the Heaven-Swallowing Gourd.

"Forgetfulness Grass? What is that? I've never heard of it," Sun Wukong asked, scratching his head in confusion.

He had never heard of such spirit grass.

"At this point, I might as well be honest. I need the Causality River water combined with the Forgetfulness Grass to make me forget all worldly emotions, to remove the causality of this lifetime and start anew."

"Start anew? Reincarnation?" Sun Wukong asked.

"Pretty much, but this method has severe drawbacks. When I awaken again, I might bear immense causality, and I'm not sure if it will work."

"Why do you want to do this? You are a Great Emperor; escaping the world cycle should be very easy, shouldn't it?"

"No, I don't want to escape the world cycle. I want to end it. This harmful world cycle shouldn't exist; it's a disaster created by those bastards. If it weren't for them, everyone could live well, and so could my brother!"

The man's emotions grew more and more intense, and in the end, he even shouted.

Sun Wukong was stunned, looking blankly at the man, realizing that he had said something wrong and stirred up the man's painful past: "I'm sorry."

"No, it's not your fault. It's just that I got too emotional. Could I ask you for a favor, Sun Wukong?" the man shook his head, pleading.

"Tell me, as long as it's something I can do."

"I've calculated with the Great Prophecy Technique that a thousand years later, the world cycle will come, and by then, the world will start anew. There will be no humans at that time, but after many years, human civilization will reappear, but it will no longer be a cultivation civilization."

Upon hearing this, Chen Lan was shocked. This man could prophesy; he should be that Prophet.

The one who told Pharaoh to slumber, the Prophet who wants to awaken the memory of the old world, constantly revealing past events, the mysterious man.

At this point, the truth was revealed.

"What do you mean, not a cultivation civilization? What will the world be like afterward?" Sun Wukong asked in surprise.

He couldn't imagine what the future world would be like; he thought the future would be a world with perfected Heaven and Earth Laws, but now it seems worse.

"A world without Spiritual Qi, only ordinary people, but still unable to escape the world cycle," the man sighed.

Sun Wukong's eyes were blank, and he sat down in despair, muttering, "Even so, the world cycle still won't let humanity go? Do we really have no hope?"

"No, there is hope. I am here for this very reason!" the man again became emotional, "I have waited for ten thousand years, just to come for this."

After speaking, the man transformed into something akin to a football, pitch-black, but strangely, this ball was violently pulsing like a beating heart.

"What is this?" Sun Wukong touched the ball in bewilderment and asked.

"World Origin!"

The scene stopped abruptly here, leaving Chen Lan speechless in frustration.

This feeling was like getting to an exciting part of a novel only for it to suddenly stop, with the author cutting off at a crucial point. It was infuriating.

Annoyed, he dropped a drop of fresh blood, eager to know the results that followed.

But when the blood fell, it was completely different from before; this time, it truly slid down as if blood had dripped onto a mirror.

"Hmm?" Chen Lan, puzzled, touched the mirror; had this magical treasure turned into an ordinary mirror?

Not knowing what was going on, Chen Lan put it away, intending to study it again in a while.

For now, he had obtained quite a bit of information; in the Profound Dust Realm, there already existed a Great Emperor.

This Great Emperor might not be dead, or perhaps already deceased, but clearly, Sun Wukong wasn't dead; he most likely lived to the present.

After all, the Heaven-Howling Dog once said that Sun Wukong was only missing, not dead, and those fragments seemed to be from after Sun Wukong had broken through to the Celestial Emperor.

Who could that man be?

Chen Lan couldn't figure it out. Once he researched the function of this mirror, he would know.

...

Ghost Extermination Association.

The crowd hadn't left yet; they were clearing the battlefield, and the scattered corpses had long been cleaned up by them.

"Who do you think Senior Xiao Yao really is? His strength is terrifying."

"Yeah, taking down an Emperor with one move, and ten Great Emperors with another; that's just absurd."

"I wonder what realm that senior is in, is he a Great Emperor or an Immortal Emperor?"

"I heard Li Jun and the others are quite familiar with the senior; why not ask them?"

As the crowd was abuzz with discussion, Chen Lan reappeared before them.

Seeing Chen Lan, everyone was jolted and immediately spoke in unison, "Greetings, Senior!"

"From now on, the Ghost Extermination Association will be renamed to Xiao Yao Sect," Chen Lan said calmly.

This wasn't a suggestion or advice; it was an order.

Upon hearing this, everyone looked at each other in confusion but quickly understood its meaning, overjoyed.

"Yes, Senior!"

Senior intended to recruit them; even though they lost a President, they now had an even more formidable figure than the President.

Thus, nobody was so heartbroken anymore.
