Global Lords: I Have Information System

Chapter 174: Master Mars's Invitation

The Wolf Cavalry formed a wedge-shaped formation and galloped ahead, with Zong Shen riding Pigsy, following at a distance of about a hundred meters.

After a rain yesterday, the pasture was finally not kicking up dust as it was before, so Zong Shen no longer had to eat dust behind the Wolf Cavalry.

Along the way, when encountering small-scale Burrow Monsters blocking the path, the Wolf Cavalry would boldly scatter them, their sharp sabres always bringing about a trail of broken limbs.

Each charge typically eliminated about seventy to eighty percent of the Burrow Monsters in a single strike. If they encountered large groups of Burrow Monsters, they would take a detour.

As Zong Shen and his group gradually moved away from their territory and beyond the range of nearby Lords' territories, they could see large patches of Burrow Monsters slowly gathering.

They could also see those Lords fighting hard to strangle the Burrow Monsters.

Even along the way, Zong Shen witnessed with his own eyes a large wave of Burrow Monsters, numbering over a thousand, breaking through a not-so-large territory.

All the buildings, including the Lord's Courtyard, were destroyed, and all the soldiers, farmers, and Lords were torn apart.

Zong Shen intended to lend a hand but ended up being a step too late. It was difficult for just one Wolf Cavalry Squad to completely pierce through the monster wave blockade.

In the face of such a massive wave of monsters, Zong Shen decisively ordered a detour. Without the advantage of terrain and military strength, confronting them head-on was unwise.

As more and more creatures emerged from the Burrow, the pressure faced by the Lords increased daily. Only a few mythical Lords, like Zong Shen, could maintain exploration in such circumstances.

Zong Shen sighed a bit; facing the settings of the Lord System, all Lords were powerless to resist, having only to passively endure. To him, it was an extremely cruel ordeal.

Because the Lords were so scattered, the sense of bloodshed and cruelty was largely reduced, although the true severity far surpassed that of war.

Within the rules, respect for life had long vanished. Before the arrival of a new order, only power constituted the real order.

Zong Shen followed the Wolf Cavalry, detouring around several huge monster groups, breaking through a number of smaller ones, and after over an hour, finally reached Sitanos Village.

Due to the influence of the rules, there were no roaming Burrow Monsters nearby in Sitanos Village.

This time, Zong Shen and his group took a slight detour, entering the village from the other side.

There was a large pasture here, with a dozen cowsheds, some cattle grazing leisurely nearby, and others lazily basking in the sun within the enclosure.

As Zong Shen and the Wolf Cavalry approached the village entrance, they slowed their pace. Otherwise, they would appear as aggressive as bandits.

Soon, a patrol of armed militia from nearby hurriedly approached, blocking the path to the village entrance.

They were prepared for the essential questioning before entry, given the abundance of bandits in the wilderness frequently raiding villages.

Small-time bandits might just rob cattle, sheep, and supplies, but rampant bandits and raiders would directly attack villages.

The formidable bandits and raiders often had hundreds, even over a hundred, strong enough to directly confront the village guards.

The Fierce Bandit Calier that Zong Shen had eliminated last time was just a medium to low-power group of bandits.

They had been heavily besieged by the Boss Bang's army and suffered significant losses, thus straying near Sitanos Village. Hence, the guards were always tense when something formidable approached.

Zong Shen waved to halt the Wolf Cavalry and rode the towering Pigsy up to face the guards. The guards patrolling this village entrance were different this time around, hence did not recognize Zong Shen.

"No need for questioning, this is our village's friend, Lord Zong Shen!"

"It was him who eliminated the Fierce Bandit Calier!"

At this moment, a pot-bellied middle-aged man in fine clothes walked out from the village, addressing the patrolling soldiers at the entrance.

The man wasn't anyone else; he was Master Mars.

His residence was located at the edge of the village, with a second-floor window offering a direct view of the pasture.

"Master Mars."

Zong Shen waved to greet him.

The armed militia, upon hearing Master Mars' words, promptly cleared the road without hesitation.

Master Mars was a significant figure in the village, owning the largest pasture in Sitanos Village, holding high reputation, and the armed militia naturally recognized him.

Zong Shen led the Wolf Cavalry through the village entrance, with Master Mars stepping forward to welcome them warmly.

"My lord, what a coincidence!"

"Please be sure to bring your men to my house later so that I can properly entertain you."

"What brings you to the village this time? Perhaps I can be of assistance."

Master Mars warmly greeted him. Zong Shen dismounted from Pigsy and approached Master Mars.

Hearing the local bigwig's offer for help, Zong Shen didn't hesitate and directly told Master Mars about the main purpose of his visit.

"This time, I've come to the village mainly to purchase a batch of food— from wheat to finished bread, jerky, sausages, and vegetables; also, some live chickens would be best to take back and raise."

"All these for a supply to feed a hundred people for half a month, and everything will be traded with Mainland Continent Universal Dinars."

Zong Shen smiled faintly and spoke frankly.

Upon hearing this, Master Mars immediately patted his chest.

"My lord, leave this matter to me."

"Grains, vegetables, and meat are not too expensive in the village."

"If the primary purchase is food, approximately seven to eight hundred dinars should suffice."

"Including certain proportions of dried meat, sausages, and vegetables, the total shouldn't exceed two thousand dinars."

Master Mars calculated with his fingers; as the village landlord, he was extremely sensitive to the village prices and quickly estimated an amount.

The price of grain wasn't actually high, especially in Sitanos Village, surrounded by fertile soil, where villagers cultivated numerous farmlands, with merchants from Bang City purchasing crops annually.

There's no need to elaborate on the meat.

Aside from the recurring bandit threats, it was quite peaceful otherwise.

"Please take your men to my house first, and I'll have my men start procuring right away."

"Let's have dinner together; you're Marie's savior, and thus a savior to our entire family."

Master Mars spoke eagerly. It's not common for a landlord to be this enthusiastic.

Zong Shen pondered over it, initially wanting to decline, but then considering the convenience of fostering good relations with Master Mars in Sitanos Village and his daughter Marie.

He decided to accept the invitation because Marie was a Green Level Heroic figure.

Although this talent wasn't highly ranked among heroes, to Zong Shen, she was still a valuable asset.

With the population in the territory growing at a geometric rate, resolving the issues of logistics and command was imperative.
