Chapter 470 Watching the Moon Together at Night_1

SLAP!

Just as the man reached out to grab Su Xuan's white horse, a hand suddenly rested on his shoulder.

"Who?"

The man's body trembled as he spun around, only to see a face that made his pupils shrink in shock. It was Su Xuan!

Su Xuan had returned! His gaze was no longer scattered; his eyes were clear and sparkled brightly.

"What's wrong with you?" the man asked in astonishment. "You were hit by my Mind Control Technique! How... how are you not affected?"

"I don't know," Su Xuan replied with a curl of his lips, "but I do know that you're about to have a very bad time."

Before he had even finished speaking, Su Xuan flipped his wrist and placed his palm on the back of the man's head. A surge of Longevity Cultivation Power burst forth!

He hadn't been affected by the man's methods for two reasons. First, he was a true Longevity Realm Expert with formidable willpower. Second, he was skilled in a similar Mind Control Technique, giving him an innate resistance to the man's tactics.

GACK!

A low, strange cry came from the man's throat before his eyes rolled back and he collapsed to the ground.

Su Xuan found the Trial Token on him, a hint of a smile on his lips as he looked down at the unconscious man. "Couldn't you just trade fairly? Did you have to resort to such despicable means? Well, have a good sleep for the next few days."

Then, he turned to the white horse. "Take him somewhere random, just far away from here. Then come back and wait for me."

The white horse gave an intelligent nod. It grabbed the man's clothes with its mouth, hoisted him onto its back, and was about to spread its wings and fly off.

"Wait."

Su Xuan called out to the white horse again. He continued to search the man's body, eventually taking his several thousand Xuan tickets, some medicinal pills, and gold and jade ornaments. Only then did he let the white horse fly away with the man.

"Sigh, the world on the mountain is far too treacherous," Su Xuan couldn't help but lament as he watched the white horse depart.

He then silently recited the Thousand-faces Stone Heart Technique. His facial muscles distorted, quickly transforming into the man's likeness. Afterward, he strode toward the Yu Xian Sect.

With this change of face, dealing with the Blood Immortal Vine should go smoothly.

"Young Master Ji, please hurry to the guest rooms. Don't wander off again," the Gatekeeping Disciples said as Su Xuan swaggered up to the front gate of the Yu Xian Sect.

"Understood." Su Xuan nodded to the Gatekeeping Disciples and continued to walk inside the sect.

But he had no idea where the guest rooms were, so he had to roam discreetly within the Yu Xian Sect, hoping to find a suitable person to ask. He also felt a pang of regret for having knocked the young man out so decisively.

Now he didn't even know... who he was supposed to be.

"Cousin!"

Just as he was wandering aimlessly, a girl in a goose-yellow dress ran over, greeting him affectionately.

"Cousin, what about the horse? Did you get it?" she asked, getting straight to the point before Su Xuan could even speak.

Su Xuan instantly understood that this girl was the reason for the whole incident.

"No," Su Xuan said, his voice now a perfect imitation of the young man's. He mimicked the man's behavior as he spoke, "The horse's owner wasn't easy to fool. He didn't pay me any mind and just flew off on it!"

"How can you be so incompetent!" The girl was immediately displeased, pouting as she complained, "How could you fail at such a simple task! I really, really liked that horse! You owe me one, you owe me, you owe me!"

This girl was clearly cut from the same cloth as the young man.

Feigning helplessness, Su Xuan said, "I'll think of something after the trial tomorrow. Besides, that white horse wasn't so great. I'll find you a different one, a pink one. It'll suit you better."

"It has to have wings! And be able to fly!"

"Alright, alright!"

"Pinky promise!"

"Uh..."

Su Xuan's finger was hooked by the girl for a cringeworthy pinky promise, complete with a vow of "no changes for a hundred years."

"I'm going to the guest rooms now. Will you walk me?" Su Xuan asked immediately after.

"You should be the one walking me!" the girl said petulantly. "The men's guest area in the Yu Xian Sect is right next to the women's. Would it kill you to walk a few extra steps with me?"

Afterward, Su Xuan appeared to be walking alongside the girl, but in reality, she was guiding him to the women's guest area.

"Cousin, don't forget about tonight!" the girl said mysteriously before returning to her room.

"Tonight? What about tonight?" Su Xuan, being an imposter, had no idea what she was talking about.

"You! You're going to be the death of me!" The girl stomped her foot. "Watching the moon at the Yu Xian Sect! Didn't you tell me that when the moonlight hits the sect's protective formation, a beautiful, seven-colored halo appears? How could you forget?"

"Haha, I was just joking with you!" Su Xuan let out a chuckle.

"Hmph! You're so annoying!" The girl rolled her eyes at Su Xuan before entering one of the rooms in the women's guest quarters.

"This identity is great in every way, except for this little hassle," Su Xuan mumbled, rubbing his forehead in frustration as he put on a show of watching "his cousin" leave.

Next, he walked over to the nearby men's guest area. After asking a disciple in charge for his room, he went inside. He had told the disciple that all the rooms looked the same and he had forgotten which one was his.

He planned to lie low in the room until the trial began tomorrow. He also wanted to completely avoid meeting that Sect Leader with the surname Su. Her piercing gaze was somewhat intimidating.

As for watching the moon with my 'cousin'? Not a chance! I don't have time for such nonsense!

He had also guessed from his chat with the girl that the relationship between the two cousins was rather ambiguous.

"Brother Ji, you've arrived!"

No sooner had Su Xuan entered his room than someone greeted him. It turned out the guest rooms were not for single occupants, but doubles.

"Yeah, I'm here," Su Xuan responded vaguely, seeing that the other person clearly recognized him.

"Brother Ji, can you tell me about your Ji Family?" his roommate couldn't help but ask when he saw Su Xuan lie down on the bed with his back to him. "I've long heard that your Ji Family is settled in a blessed land, and that even the maids are as beautiful as fairies!"

"There's not much to tell," Su Xuan said in a deliberately weary voice. "I'm exhausted from dealing with my cousin. I need a good rest, so let's talk some other time."

"Haha, Brother Ji, I really envy you, having such a beautiful cousin who likes you. Are you two really blood-related?" the person rambled on.

Su Xuan remained silent.

"Brother Ji, do you think Ancestor Meng has really left the mountain world?" the man asked, grasping at straws for conversation. He continued, almost talking to himself, "Where exactly did he go? Could he really have gone to 'that place'? Can anyone return from there?"

"You'd have to ask him," Su Xuan said, his patience wearing thin.

"It's said he took his wife and children with him," the person continued. "If that place is so dangerous, why would he take his family along? Brother Ji, don't you think 'that place' might be different from what we imagine?"

"I don't know," Su Xuan said.

But Su Xuan desperately wanted to ask... what exactly was 'that place'?

"Brother Ji," the man said suddenly, "do you think 'that place' really has an Ox-Head and a Horse-Face?"

Su Xuan instantly knew what 'that place' was...
