Rotting Land: Survive

Chapter 295: Militia Team (Part 2)

In the days that followed, as Yan Hua had feared, Scar indeed took retaliatory action.

However, due to the presence of the military and the Survivor Team's united mentality, he was unable to find a good chance to strike.

But what he couldn't do openly didn't stop him from sabotaging secretly. For example, at night, he would order people to stage a "midnight horror" show outside the Survivor Team's tents, aimed at disturbing their sleep.

During the day, he would have his men closely monitor the Survivor Team's every move. As soon as they went out, his men would inevitably come forward to cause "trouble," all in an attempt to provoke the survivors, to make them lose their temper.

And besides these two points, what the survivors found most unacceptable and infuriating was that Scar actually exploited his position to "brazenly" withhold their ration supplies.

Mind you, these supplies were pitifully small to begin with, and now with Scar's "malicious deductions," it seriously affected the survivors' normal lives.

In just three days, although the survivors hadn't had much physical confrontation with Scar and his group, "thanks to" the latter's caring attention, the survivors' spirits were tortured beyond recognition.

Hungry and sleepless! Constantly watched, the survivors had no choice but to remain vigilant at all times because you never knew when Scar's men would "come calling," or when they would backstab you.

And frankly speaking, the mental tension of the Survivor Team at this time was no less than their days of hiding from zombies outside. In fact, except that no one would eat them here, the crisis situation here was even worse than outside the hall.

Tang Xiaoquan sat in the room with a furrowed brow, his companions mostly dispirited, undoubtedly harassed quite a bit by Scar's men the night before.

Good grief, cat calls, ghost screams, shaking tents, throwing rocks—every disgusting trick you could think of, Scar's men used almost all of them. They even splashed feces and urine while survivors were fast asleep at midnight.

You have to know the sports hall now is without water and power; taking a bath to wash off those stains isn't something you can simply do.

The more Wang Qiang thought about it, the more aggrieved he felt. Immediately, he stood up and walked out furiously: "Damn it! I've had enough! These bastards are simply too much! I'm going to confront them!"

"Stop!" Old Lin raised his hand to block Wang Qiang's way, reprimanding him harshly: "Calm down! Qiang, they're just waiting for us to make trouble, so they can..."

Hearing Old Lin say his actions were "making trouble," Wang Qiang immediately refused to back down: "What the hell, Old Lin? What do you mean by that? They mess with us daily, and I just have to endure it; I confront them, and it's trouble!? What kind of absurd logic is this?"

"Yes! Lin, Qiang's words may be harsh, but he's not wrong! These bastards are blatantly riding over us now; if we continue sitting idly, let them bully us, what then?"

"Exactly! You should see what it's like! Feces and urine! Today he dares splash us with feces and urine, tomorrow he might burn our tents!"

One voice after another! Not only Wang Qiang, but even the usually calm Wen Quanxin and Wu Chao shouted out angrily.

Looking at the three fiery young men, Lin Junfu couldn't help but sigh inwardly. He too wanted to go out and fight those bastards tooth and nail, but the problem was...

Tang Xiaoquan saw Old Lin's predicament, but didn't rush to voice support. Instead, he fiddled silently with his hair because he was also at the juncture of deciding whether to "strike proactively" or "defend passively."

It was clear that all of Scar's provocations so far were undoubtedly aimed at making our side lose it.

Because only then could he find an excuse to clash head-on with us.

And once a conflict started, regardless of the final outcome, he could use the position of Militia Team Captain to arrest all of us.

Then add some random charge and report it upward. Even Xu Renjie, if suspicious, wouldn't find any reason that benefits us by then.

It must be said, Scar's "feigned attack is a clever move.

Looking at our companions' current mental state, even when surrounded by zombies outside, they weren't in such a miserable condition.

We must find a way to solve this, or long-term persistence might not prevent issues, but we could end up insane from their relentless harassment.

But what's the method for dealing with this rogue behavior?

First, fighting certainly isn't an option, or we'd fall into their trap.

Secondly, reporting to the base management is definitely pointless, as the opponent is part of the management. Furthermore, they've been at the base for two months, so in terms of speaking weight, we simply have no comparison.

Thinking of all this, Tang Xiaoquan felt a bit deflated. It seemed there was no way to punish the opponent!

Meanwhile, Old Lin continued to persuade the furious trio Wu, Wang, and Wen, making the situation more tense.

What to do? What exactly should be done?

With fingers constantly curling his bangs, Tang Xiaoquan's eyebrows knitted tightly.

Break to rebuild! Since forward thinking doesn't solve it, try reverse thinking!

Being well-read in psychology books, Tang Xiaoquan immediately adjusted his thoughts and began using "reverse thinking" to re-examine the whole event.

What is Scar afraid of? Why doesn't he directly send his men to clash with us but instead resorts to third-rate tricks to provoke us?

Because he's afraid of the military! He knows his power isn't enough to confront formal military forces! So he adopts this method to avoid large-scale conflict, preventing attracting the army's attention.

In other words, if we can use what he fears to cause him enough pressure, then...

Got it! Tang Xiaoquan's eyes brightened suddenly, and his previously tightly knitted brows gradually relaxed as the problem was solved.

Seeing his brother's inexplicable calmness, Wang Qiang, both surprised and irritated, spat on the ground, then shouted: "What are you on about! Damn, stop messing around! What do you mean 'I've got it' or 'I haven't got it,' anyway, what's your attitude on this matter?"

Tang Xiaoquan ignored Wang Qiang's "poor phrasing," coughing lightly twice, before saying meticulously: "I mean 8 words... 'give them a taste of their own medicine!'
