Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 383: Divine Status of the God of Light

The light orb hovered before Duke, emanating a powerful, mysterious aura.

It seemed hesitant, as if scrutinizing this foreigner who was not a pure Light believer.

Duke also observed the light orb, not daring to act rashly, unsure of what kind of thing this was.

"This is..." Duke looked at Dali, displaying an inquisitive expression.

Dali shook her head as well: "There's no record of this in the annals of the Light Sect, I don't know what it is either. But I can feel the aura of a god on it."

"The aura of a god..." Duke stared at the light orb in front of him, pondering something.

Suddenly, the white light orb directly collided into Duke's body, disappearing instantly.

Both Duke and Dali were astonished as they watched this scene, clueless about what had just transpired.

A moment later, a flood of information surged into his mind, but in an instant, the information retracted and settled in the depths of Duke's consciousness.

Duke realized this was some kind of protective measure by a certain power on his behalf.

If all that immense information invaded his mind unchecked, it could potentially damage his Spiritual Power, or worse, turn someone with lesser Spiritual Power into an idiot.

When Duke regained his composure, he found a white light orb swirling in his mind, the very one that had just floated before him.

Upon touching it with his Spiritual Power, he finally understood what this thing was.

Strictly speaking, this could be called the Divine Status of the God of Light.

In common parlance, a Divine Status generally refers to the Divine Status condensed by a Level 4 Life itself, but this Divine Status before him is a aggregation of rules and power, formed after the fall of the God of Light, and can also be called a Divine Status.

In fact, this is the true meaning of the Divine Status, which even contains part of the Plane Will of the Oracle Plane.

Because the God of Light was originally a part of the Plane Will, its initial existence embodied the Divine Status, as a manifestation of the Plane Will.

Duke attempted to learn more information, but his current Spiritual Power couldn't delve too deeply into the Divine Status, only grasping some superficial facts.

Actually, the entire matter is quite simple; after the God of Light fell, it condensed into this Divine Status, and the Divine Status chose Duke.

Duke could gradually refine this Divine Status over a long period in the future, and eventually, he would become the next God of Light in the Oracle Plane.

The Divine Status of the God of Light initially chose Dali, but after discovering another presence, Duke, in conjunction with some unknown reason, ultimately chose Duke.

From this standpoint, Duke indeed took an opportunity that originally belonged to Dali.

It suddenly dawned on him that, in this light, Dali might indeed be the Child of the Plane of the Oracle Plane.

Even if she hadn't followed him here today, Dali would most likely find some way to arrive here later, eventually acquiring the Divine Status of the God of Light, leading the Light Sect and the entire Oracle Plane forward.

However, Duke didn't deliberately intend to seize Dali's resources; he hadn't even figured out what was happening when the Divine Status just came to him.

Duke thought it over more practically, not considering it just a good thing.

To wear the crown, one must bear its weight.

The reason the Divine Status chose Duke was likely due to recognizing his potential, perhaps even seeing a broader future through certain rule powers, compelling it to choose him.

This Divine Status is not something easily obtained; acquiring it likely means taking on some responsibilities of the Light Sect and even the Oracle Plane.

This isn't something you can avoid if you want to; sometimes, destiny is inescapable.

Currently, Duke doesn't have the ability to refine the power of the Divine Status, and the immense power within it is not something he can wield now.

But he pondered another point, whether the Divine Status of the God of Light could be used as a Crystal Core of Light Attribute.

This thought, once sprouted, spread uncontrollably in his mind.

From a properties perspective, the Divine Status of the God of Light is perfect for the requirements of a Crystal Core, containing an immense amount of Light Attribute Energy, suitable as a Crystal Core.

The only problem is, no one has likely ever used a Divine Status as a Crystal Core at the Level 1 Mage stage.

Whether there are any associated risks is unknown to anyone.

If this Divine Status had been found elsewhere, Duke certainly wouldn't dare attempt this; even a tinge of the energy contained within could obliterate his soul.

But this Divine Status of the God of Light is different; it has recognized him as its master, becoming a part of Duke's body and soul.

Like a form of Bloodline Power, it's just that he is currently too weak to fully unleash its power.

The power in the Divine Status wouldn't cause any harm to Duke himself, providing some prerequisites for it to become a Crystal Core.

Duke withdrew his thoughts, realizing these matters needed to be studied slowly back home; this was clearly not the place for such research.

Dali stood frozen, watching Duke. She could sense a profound transformation happening within him.

Even though his appearance hadn't changed, he exuded an indescribable divine majesty.

That aura, which she had only felt when praying to the God of Light, was even more pure, more primordial.

"Duke... you..." Dali's voice trembled slightly, her eyes a mix of confusion and awe, having sensed something but not daring to confirm it.

Duke thought for a moment and said, "This is a part of the power left behind by the God of Light, choosing me for some unknown reason. But I must tell you, it should have been yours."

He frankly revealed his conjecture, suggesting that Dali was likely the chosen heir of the God of Light's will, and the Divine Status chose him possibly due to a recognition of some greater potential.

"No, Duke. The God of Light's choice cannot be wrong. Since it chose you, it means you are the most suitable candidate." Dali stated earnestly.

As the Holy Daughter of the Light Sect, she only wished for the Light Sect to gradually prosper and grow.

Now that Duke had received the God of Light's legacy, it meant that the Light Sect's flame had not been extinguished, and there was hope for its continuation.

Dali knelt on one knee, placing her right hand on her chest, performing the highest ceremonial gesture of the Light Sect: "Holy Daughter of Light Dali, willing to follow the God of Light."

Duke hurriedly helped her up: "No need for this, I am not a God, merely... a temporary custodian of this power."

But Dali's gaze was unusually firm: "You may not understand yet, but from the moment this power chose you, you became the heir of the God of Light."

Her feelings were very clear; the Duke before her in her eyes was no different from the God of Light, almost indistinguishable, a God walking among humans.
