Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 385: Progress

After Hans and his team all climbed up, the Storm Dragon Eagle finally flapped its wings and soared instantly into the high sky.

The sudden ascent caught Hans and his team off guard, causing them to stumble and nearly fall off, barely managing to steady themselves.

Duke had been keeping an eye on them and naturally wouldn't let them really fall, but Hans and his team were indeed startled.

In fact, it was just the Storm Dragon Eagle playing a prank, teasing these players, or rather it thought these players were too weak and unqualified to ride it.

However, since it was Duke's order, it had to comply.

The speed of the Storm Dragon Eagle was extremely fast, its massive wings tearing through the clouds, and the snowy plains below quickly fading into the distance.

Hans and his team held tightly to the feathers on the eagle's back, experiencing initial tension that gradually gave way to excitement, as this was an entirely new experience for them.

In reality, they could at most ride a flying machine, but this was a completely different experience from that.

Although the fierce winds were kept at bay by the shield released by Duke, they could still breathe the thin high-altitude air, feel the breeze brushing their faces, and experience passing through clouds firsthand.

Duke stood at the rear of the eagle's neck, his robe lightly billowing, while Dali sat quietly beside him like a well-behaved girl next door.

It wasn't long before the outline of the walls of Azure Vault City appeared on the horizon.

In total, it only took a few hours back and forth, and with the Storm Dragon Eagle, traveling was indeed much faster.

Such rapid travel speed meant that even if someone wanted to track the Holy Daughter Dali, they had no chance.

In a secluded wooded area some distance from the city gates, Duke had the Storm Dragon Eagle descend.

After landing, Duke waved his hand and sent the Storm Dragon Eagle back to the Light God Court, leaving Hans and his team still somewhat reluctant, even wanting to experience it again.

For the first time, they realized that the distance from Azure Vault City to Northern Icewind Valley was actually so short; it felt like it took so long when they came.

"Thank you, Lord Duke, Your Highness Holy Daughter!" Hans and his team bowed in gratitude.

If Duke hadn't happened to give them a ride, it would have taken them several days to trek back through the mountains and forests.

Duke didn't mind and didn't say much.

Dali still needed to return to arrange certain matters related to the Light Sect, sending people to conduct a more detailed investigation into the ruins at Northern Icewind Valley and protect all the traces left there.

This matter needed to be kept confidential, and only trustworthy individuals could be dispatched.

If the Shadow Council or the Four Gods Sect were to find out, they might cause trouble.

Duke did not return with Dali but instead went back to the Star Embers Guild headquarters with Hans and his team.

He still had some matters to discuss with Robert.

...

Star Embers Guild headquarters, inside Robert's personal office.

At this moment, Duke stood by the window, while Robert, unlike before, didn't sit behind his desk but instead stood dutifully behind and to the side of Duke.

"How is your Breathing Technique progressing in the real world?" Duke communicated using Spiritual Power.

Despite having checked the surroundings to ensure no one was eavesdropping, and even using a soundproof Demonized Item, he maintained the utmost caution.

"Not as good as here, but I can clearly feel that I'm not far from condensing the Life Seed." Robert reported.

Since his conversation with Duke that day, Robert had diligently practiced the Light Divine Breathing Technique in reality as instructed by Duke.

In conditions that are less than ideal, the progress of Breathing Technique practice is also affected.

However, Robert could still feel changes within himself, as he had already practiced the Breathing Technique once in the Oracle Plane, making him more sensitive to the process.

He knew that within about a month, he would be able to successfully condense the Life Seed.

This speed was actually very fast, considering the plane he was in wasn't conducive to the development of Extraordinary Power, achieving such progress was remarkable.

Duke nodded and said, "Good, keep it up. You can also use your resources and conditions in reality to aid your practice. Additionally, you can keep an eye out and investigate, I suspect that the plane you're on likely has Extraordinary Power, just that ordinary people aren't aware of it."

The promotion of the Oracle Plane game was being done by various parties in the world where Robert was, likely because the higher-ups of various forces knew some of the secrets.

There should be some connection between the Oracle Plane and the plane Robert was on, the possibility of no Extraordinary existing in Robert's plane is very low.

Duke has speculated that there must be Extraordinary beings, but due to the harsh environment and the cost of taking action, they usually don't reveal themselves or act, leaving ordinary people completely unaware of this level's existence.

Every time an Extraordinary takes action, it consumes some energy. In the Wizard Plane, energy consumption can be replenished after some time through Meditation or practicing Breathing Technique.

But in such a place, energy is finite, and replenishing one's Extraordinary Energy likely requires some extremely special means.

However, these are just Duke's speculations, and the actual situation requires Robert to investigate himself to know.

"Remember, until you have sufficient power, avoid acting recklessly. Safety first." Duke reminded him.

For Robert, it's also crucial to hide himself now, not allowing his secrets to be exposed.

Otherwise, attracting the attention of those with ulterior motives would mean trouble is on the way.

Robert also listened to Duke's advice. In fact, even after signing the Master-Servant Contract with Duke, Duke tried to suggest rather than order him to do things.

Ordering is suitable for commanding ordinary slave creatures in battles, as they don't need to think much, just fight the enemy, making it simple to give orders.

However, in Robert's special environment, many situations require him to adapt on his own and make decisions based on his judgment.

In such cases, issuing fixed orders might limit him instead.

Because the orders from the Master-Servant Contract are mandatory, Robert cannot disobey them and must comply.

Robert himself is a smart person, and these orders act as a constraint for him, so Duke has always avoided issuing rigid orders, only providing some direction.

"Besides, cooperate with me on conducting an experiment," Duke thought for a moment and said.
