Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 390: Messenger Summoning Test

The presence of the God of Light's divine status, invisibly elevated Duke's status.

Although he has not fully refined it, during the summoning process it also played a role, causing his summoning to appear to otherworldly beings as having a divine aura.

The upper limit of the Destiny Bone Dice is indeed Level 3 to Level 4, but it was due to the factor of the God of Light's divine status that led to all this happening.

Anyway, no matter what, for Duke, the process was thrilling but not dangerous, and the ending was always good.

Having an extra messenger, things would be much more convenient in the future.

The only issue is that it's still unclear what Yarbede's purpose is.

Duke believes that even if he possesses the God of Light's divine status, it should not be enough to arouse Yarbede's interest.

If Yarbede really wanted this divine status, she could have simply killed Duke and taken it on the spot without any extra measures.

In the hall, there was silence.

Only then did Matthew dare to move a finger, manipulating the witch array here to shut down one by one.

He said with lingering fear, "Luckily, nothing happened."

Fortunately, Yarbede did not go on a killing spree on a whim, or else even if Matthew survived, he wouldn't escape blame and would certainly be punished.

He definitely needed to report this matter and record the process in detail.

Duke also did not expect to gain a messenger, and this matter couldn't be hidden and would surely be known to many people.

If he had known earlier, he would definitely have found a secret place to perform the summoning.

But in that case, there would be no safety guarantee, what if another formidable character emerged, unlike the amiable Yarbede.

The messenger couldn't be taken away, so there's no worry of coveting.

However, because few wizards possess a messenger, it would inevitably attract some attention, which did not align with Duke's usual low-profile approach.

Duke then left the Elizabeth and returned to his deserted island.

After returning, he didn't rest much before receiving a message from Lucas.

"Duke, heard you returned from vacation, the war on the Devourer Plane has officially begun, we're short-handed, are you interested in joining?"

"So soon!" Duke was a bit surprised.

He didn't expect the wizard organizations on the West Coast to move so quickly, already starting the war.

Duke currently tended more towards continuing to develop, even if participating in the war could earn more resources, he still planned to be conservative.

Anyway, this plane war won't end anytime soon, it wouldn't be too late to consider joining after he has digested his resources.

He didn't directly refuse, but replied, "Mr. Lucas, I'll think about it."

"No problem, contact me anytime if you decide to join, if I'm not around, you can reach out to others in the Third Legion." Lucas replied.

Duke guessed there must be a manpower shortage over there, otherwise Lucas wouldn't proactively ask.

The early stages of war are always the most dangerous, best to avoid this phase.

Duke never considered himself a chosen one, the top priority in whatever he does is to survive first.

In plane wars, a Level 1 Mage is but an ordinary individual.

Might encounter a powerful enemy unexpectedly, leading to the annihilation of an entire team, just like the previous Seventh Outpost.

Duke took out a gold coin, intending to test the messenger's ability and effect.

The most important ability of the messenger is to deliver messages across planes, as for the content, it's up to him.

Before sending a message, Duke had to do some preparation work and communicate with Dali on the Oracle Plane.

He first calmed his mind, immersing his consciousness into his mind, attempting to communicate with the divine status of the God of Light.

When Duke's spiritual power touched that pure white sphere of light, a warm, vast feeling enveloped his spirit.

He focused his mind, following the faint line of faith that connected to Dali across the plane, sending over a clear message:

"Dali."

Communication between a god and a believer is two-way, believers can establish a weak connection to the god through prayer, and gods can also proactively contact their believers.

Almost instantly, a thought full of surprise and devoutness responded, as if waiting for his call all along:

"Great... Mr. Duke, have you arrived safely?"

Dali's voice sounded directly in Duke's mind, as clear as if speaking next to his ear.

This reminded Duke of the time in that peculiar space, also hearing Dali's voice from a vortex which guided him to escape danger into the Oracle Plane.

"Hmm, I have arrived. This time, I'm calling you mainly for some cooperation..." Duke then briefly explained the messenger rules.

After understanding, Dali quickly prepared a gold coin and wrote a letter containing a unique magic crystal stone from the Oracle Plane.

These were all instructed by Duke, merely for testing purposes.

Duke specifically chose Dali, aside from having few choices, also because the Oracle Plane is a low plane.

The most powerful being that the low plane can accommodate is Level 3, and Yarbede clearly exceeds Level 3, probably only able to enter the Oracle Plane in projection form.

After Dali made preparations, Duke's attention turned to the messenger mark of Yarbede.

He activated it using spiritual power, and ripples instantly spread in the bedroom.

A soft sound, akin to water splashing, echoed.

Subsequently, the central space of the bedroom seemed to be torn open with an irregular crack, dense water vapor mixed with a cold and alluring fragrance instantly permeating the air.

A graceful figure emerged, enveloped in thick white mist and steam, it was Yarbede.

Yet, her image at this moment was completely different from the previous seductive armor, dignified and enchanting look.

Yarbede was loosely wrapped in a large, pure black bathrobe seemingly made from the fur of some dark creature.

The robe's belt was tied rather loosely, the neckline opened quite low, revealing an expanse of dazzling white skin and a delicate collarbone, even showing voluptuous and enticing curves.

Duke understood instantly, he didn't expect Yarbede was bathing, and just received Duke's summoning at that moment.

Unexpectedly, Yarbede didn't refuse, just came covered with a barely concealing bathrobe, wet all over.

After looking around clearly, instead of any embarrassment, Yarbede deliberately loosened the robe's neckline, exposing even more of the white skin, then opened her mouth with a slow, teasing tone in her slightly hoarse, magnetic voice from just having bathed:

"Oh my~ dear Mr. Duke~" She licked her crimson lips, her gaze enchantingly alluring, "Are you so eager to see me? It's been just a short while since we parted after all."
