Eternal Saber

Chapter 11: Encirclement and Slaughter

Among the dozens of people coming to sign up, most were just Ninth Grade Martial Artists, and some were Eighth Grade.

After a simple selection process, Chen Tang and the other three didn't show their full strength but still stood out among the many applicants.

They also got their wish to meet the Commander's daughter, Qiao Ying.

This Qiao Ying was also a Ninth Grade Martial Artist, though her figure seemed a bit thin, her face delicate, with a trace of weariness exuding from her expression.

Besides Chen Tang and his three companions, six others were selected, making a total of ten people.

Qiao Ying seemed to be afraid of something.

This time, the ten guards who entered the mansion were divided into two groups of five, alternating day and night, guarding Qiao Ying closely without leaving her side.

For several days, Dugu Qingcheng had subtly asked a few questions, but Qiao Ying, worried, remained silent.

Tonight.

It was Chen Tang and his companions' turn, along with another guard.

They saw the Commander of Qingcheng County, Qiao Zhaonan.

"You may leave, go and rest."

Qiao Zhaonan looked at Chen Tang and the others, and said calmly, "I'll have a chat with my daughter, no need to come over tonight."

Chen Tang and his companions bowed and retreated.

The other guard went back to rest as usual.

Chen Tang and the others walked slower and slower.

"There is indeed something wrong."

Dugu Qingcheng pulled Chen Tang's three companions aside and whispered, "There is something unusual about this person's scalp. Those who don't understand the art of disguise would find it hard to discern."

Once they confirmed there was an issue with the Commander of Qingcheng, things became easier.

"Shall we act tonight?"

Changsun Ming asked.

Chen Tang whispered, "Let's go back first and see what he's doing with Qiao Ying."

The four nodded, circled around, and returned to the courtyard outside Qiao Ying's room, moving quietly to eavesdrop.

"My good daughter, you're quite clever."

Qiao Zhaonan's voice sounded, carrying a hint of mockery.

Qiao Ying pretended to not know, asking, "Father, what are you talking about?"

"Heh heh."

Qiao Zhaonan chuckled lightly, "Your previous guards all died outside the city, and it was I who sent people to kill them!"

"Ah!"

Qiao Ying exclaimed, then after a moment of silence, said, "Father, if you killed them, they must have done something wrong, it's nothing much."

"Since you've already discovered my identity, no need to pretend with me anymore!"

Qiao Zhaonan sneered slightly, "You had a nice plan—first sending guards to seek rescue at Pingzhou City, only to have them killed by my men. Then you revealed my identity to the Cyan Dragon Bureau, hoping they would come for me, humph!"

"Qiao Ying, I'm actually curious how you knew my real identity as the Sixth Master of Wushan Village!"

Hearing this, Chen Tang and the others exchanged glances.

This person's identity had been confirmed.

Besides, Qiao Ying had long noticed anomalies with Qiao Zhaonan, wanting to send someone for help but was thwarted by the Sixth Master who sent Ghouls to slay the guards.

Only, the Sixth Master mistakenly thought the sudden Cyan Dragon Bureau's investigation was due to Qiao Ying's alert.

"You are the Sixth Master of Wushan Village?"

Qiao Ying was greatly shocked.

She had only felt her father was too abnormal recently, though his appearance was similar, and his voice was imitated well, some details and habits were still lacking.

What nonsense about being possessed by an evil spirit with Suppression Techniques, may deceive others, but she did not believe it.

But she never thought her father had been replaced by the Sixth Master of Wushan Village!

"Heh heh."

The Sixth Master glanced out the window, sneering, "Do you think finding some riffraff in the city as your bodyguards can protect you?"

"Let me tell you, that guard is like an ant in my eyes!"

Qiao Ying swallowed and asked shakily, "What exactly do you want?"

"Since you are so disobedient, I'll first kill those eavesdropping guards of yours as a lesson!"

The Sixth Master's voice carried a chill.

Before the words even fell, the Sixth Master suddenly burst through the window, his hands striking continuously, an overwhelming aura covering Chen Tang and the others by the window!

This is Inner Qi!

A Fifth Grade expert!

Chen Tang and the others remained calm in the face of a Fifth Grade expert, not panicking, flipping back and retreating, drawing their weapons immediately, swords in hand!

Even a Fifth Grade expert is not unbeatable.

An Inner Strength of the Fifth Grade cultivates Inner Qi, boosting combat power significantly.

But after all, they are still flesh and blood. Their swords striking at the critical points of a Fifth Grade expert can still take his life!

"Hmm?"

The Sixth Master failed to hit, frowning a little.

These four evading his attack didn't seem like regular Martial Artists.

"Swish!"

Yuwen Heigou lunged first, thrusting with his sword.

The Sixth Master's heart tightened.

This person's swordsmanship is something.

The seemingly ordinary sword thrust exuded a flavor of great simplicity, the blade's coldness intimidating, clearly a rare Divine Weapon!

Even if he cultivated Inner Qi, he didn't dare catch it barehanded.

The Sixth Master withdrew quickly.

Swoosh!

At this moment, Changsun Ming swung his spear, the spear tip drawing a circular arc, pushing forward.

The Sixth Master frowned slightly.

The long spear hadn't even struck, but several of his vital points were already faintly reacting, slightly stinging!

The Sixth Master couldn't retreat, so he attempted to sidestep left.

Buzz!

A sword's hum echoed.

A cluster of sword lights swirled in Dugu Qingcheng's hand, the long sword like a spirit snake, erratic, the soft sword slashing through the void making a 'hiss' sound!

The Sixth Master felt a flood of sword lights before his eyes, cold air rushing in, causing him to frown deeply.

He hesitated slightly, unable to think more, retreating to the right.

These people in three directions were not easy to mess with.

The Sixth Master regretted inwardly.

He was careless.

Unfortunately, he didn't bring a weapon today.

He initially thought they were merely ordinary Eighth or Ninth Grade Martial Artists, but who knew as soon as they struck, it would be so troublesome!

The man on the right, though seemingly tall, both his long knife and sword skill posed less of a threat compared to the other three!

This one was the breakthrough point!

With this thought, the Sixth Master made up his mind, leaping with speed, body technique accelerating, charging towards Chen Tang.

Swoosh!

The Sixth Master seized the moment, striking Chen Tang's knife back with a powerful palm.

This palm held immense power, avoiding the blade.

If it landed, Chen Tang would certainly lose grip, his long knife flying out of hand.

Chen Tang suddenly retracted his knife, entering the Divine Illumination State.

Swish!

The next moment, an unparalleled blade light flashed!

Fast, so fast!

The Sixth Master only saw a blur before his throat felt the blade!

He was utterly shocked, his hair standing on end!

What the hell?

He had an estimate of Chen Tang's blade skill strength in his mind.

But Chen Tang's strike had far exceeded his expectations.

Caught him off guard!

Still, the Sixth Master was a Fifth Grade, both his reactions and body technique speed surpassed that of a Sixth or Seventh Grade Martial Artist greatly.

Facing such fierce, ruthless, and astonishing swordsmanship, the Sixth Master abruptly halted, leaning back, his whole body almost parallel to the ground in mid-air.

The blade scraped past his face, cold air surging into his body.

The Sixth Master involuntarily shivered.

If he had been half a step slower, at least his nose would have been sliced off!
