Chapter 142: The Absurd Worldviews of Otherworlders

The insignia of the Interstellar Corps, the fallen shell, and the faint resonance it still shared with the "Savior Holy Sword".

This was the emergency communication device, exiled to unknown places on the Holy Magic Continent by the former Hero Squad members who turned into vile insects; Xue Dili never expected to find it in his lifetime.

Though it was the Otherworld country bumpkins who found their way here through the resonance of this emergency communication device with the Savior Holy Sword.

"This belongs to someone I know, let me have a look." Xue Dili reached out his hand, and the Palace Mage handed over what they called the Silver Country's treasure to Xue Dili.

For one, he was wise enough to submit to circumstances, knowing Xue Dili wasn't someone to be trifled with. Additionally, as a quasi-mythical mage, he could vaguely sense the spatial coordinates aligning with Xue Dili.

Thinking this, he blushed a little.

If his teleportation gate skills were better, he could have teleported directly in front of Xue Dili using the coordinates, instead of randomly throwing it over a thousand kilometers away in a desolate mountain.

And when Xue Dili took the communication device, it hadn't even been activated, still retaining the means to call the Interstellar Corps.

Upon this thought, Xue Dili glanced at the ridiculous Otherworld people.

"Alright, then let me ask you—why did you intend to invade as soon as you arrived in this world?" His tone softened slightly; since the invasion wasn't intentional but rather incidental to the escape, the labor reform sentence could be reduced from decades to ten years.

"Uh..." The Palace Mage hesitated, as if there were something he wanted to say but couldn't under Xue Dili's stern gaze and Old Green's "disappointment" expression.

"Isn't it just a peasant farm... We just wanted to rule here, at worst, we could pay tribute... or even marry into your sovereign country..." On the other side, a female knight spoke somewhat defiantly.

"Slap!"

The Holy Light Whip lashed onto her.

Where did such absurd feudal serfdom values come from?

"Is this the reasoning behind your casual talk of occupying a countryside?" Xue Dili was amused by these feudal serf-master ideals and spoke bluntly, "If you had acted any slower, and if even one person here was harmed before I arrived, you wouldn't just be tied up but shattered into pieces!"

Xue Dili's words immediately made them all shrink back, even the little knight who was struck kept silent.

"Bowing to the strong and bullying the weak, in my view, it's no injustice that your country and people are wiped out. Although that witch is essentially a scoundrel too, evil people will always be troubled by other evil people." Xue Dili showed no mercy.

And although the Silver Witch was somewhat abstract, seeing these snobbish Otherworld people made it apparent they prettified the witch's story.

He could even imagine their arrogance before knowing the witch's power.

"Principal, I..." The Palace Mage seemed desperate to speak, casting pleading glances at Old Green, but Old Green did not respond.

"Watson, even if I were still principal, knowing this matter wouldn't have helped you, let alone now when I have other important matters and am no longer at the school. Adults must be responsible for their actions instead of seeking help from others." Old Green stood by Xue Dili.

Though he found Xue Dili a bit extreme, their thought processes weren't much different, except that Xue Dili leaned hawkish while he was more neutral.

The Palace Mage instantly deflated, feeling helpless, especially while being reprimanded by the principal.

Countless times he wanted to speak but ended up silently closing his mouth.

They genuinely hadn't anticipated that this world's sovereign country and mages would consider killing these nobles for mere civilians, a fundamental difference in worldview.

Just as Xue Dili couldn't understand their brazen arrogance, they couldn't fathom why Xue Dili, with such strength, treated his status as equal to civilians.

"Then how about I marry you?" The stubborn Silver Princess, who had received a hundred lashes, looked at Xue Dili, enduring the pain, puffing out her non-existent chest.

"As long as you support our restoration, you would be my only prince, and half of Silver Country would be yours. Is this enough as a bargaining chip?"

She stared intently at Xue Dili. As the Silver Princess, she knew her beauty well, with suitors extending from Silver City to the Giant Country, so she considered monetizing this last political asset.

Moreover, looking at Xue Dili, although the whipping had been painful, retrospectively, a faint blush crept onto her face.

It seemed she wasn't losing out.

Xue Dili took a deep breath, calming himself down.

He was almost infuriated.

He quietly took out his phone, dialed 110 again, and said, "Hello, officer? Yes, I'm the concerned citizen who reported the three illegal foreigners. Among them, one has a mental illness. Yes, it's severe. I suggest you have mental health experts ready and prepare the electric shock devices too."

"And do you have any spare troops? I think six strikes per second might cure them better..."

Too lazy to reason with them, the Otherworld's worldview completely fails to resonate with Xue Dili. The gap between their worldviews creates a chasm larger than that between humans and dogs.

So let's start with labor reform. When they eventually cry from stamping sewing machines in prison and can recite moral education and general theory fluently, perhaps they'll understand the reasoning.

Telling them directly that this world doesn't subscribe to their noble-peasant hierarchy, that everyone is equal without kneeling, might elicit nothing but sneers from them.

...

Soon after, the group was tightly bound with hemp ropes, their mouths stuffed with rags, and taken to the station by Xue Dili.

The registration officer was dumbfounded. Before long, a seemingly third-level police superintendent, observing the surreal scene, twitched the corner of his mouth, unsure of what to say.

"Um, what's with them?"

"They were stealing hybrid rice and sweet potatoes from rural areas, possibly spies." Xue Dili casually spun a yarn, white lies flowing one after another.

The others were silence-imposed and Forbidden Magic-disabled by Xue Dili, thus unable to speak at this moment.

Officer: "..."

"Moreover, they are downright terrible, a little mentally unwell, fantasizing about being princesses, knights, mages from the Otherworld and the like. Don't mind them, shock therapy at this point will do, make sure to lock them up tight, officer." Xue Dili said while making records.

Then this old chap unhesitatingly called Cyan Mountain Mental Hospital, the most famous in Jiang City, nodding continuously as if consulting about some conditions.

"Alright, young student, I've checked; they are indeed three illegal foreigners with no entry registration. Hold them for a while; when the detention period ends, just toss them back out."

"You've done a fine job, young man. We offer rewards on our end, reporting one illegal foreigner nets 500 and a certificate."

The old officer kept patting Xue Dili's shoulder, making Xue Dili wonder why he was so enthusiastic.

"Um, no need for a certificate and reward." Xue Dili took a small step back.

"You're a college student, right? This certificate counts as a national honor, worth credits."

"Well, that's great."

Like a dreamy return to the plantation, Xue Dili handed the group over to the officer, then received a few thousand bucks and a "civic duty" certificate.

The certificate was even written on the spot. Xue Dili saw them pull a batch of pre-made certificates from a file cabinet, filled in his name, and that was it, extremely efficient.

Ignoring the group's resentful gaze, Xue Dili glanced at the time—it was almost 8 AM.

With the group's issue settled, Old Green even helped set up a minor seal.

Having watched "Ultraman", Old Green, self-assured in his understanding of this world, knew that the vast majority here were ordinary people, yet the truly top-tier superpower users were outrageously unbelievable.

Thus, to protect the ordinary people of this world and prevent them from being bullied by the absurd prison folks, the seal would slightly unseal during attacks or direct harm to barely release some physical prowess.

At other times, they were no different than slightly robust ordinary folks.

Afterwards, it was already 7:59, making Xue Dili hurriedly open a teleportation gate to school from the restroom.

Old Green appeared to be in a bad mood.

His student hadn't turned into the person he envisioned, perhaps leaving the old headmaster of the Magic School feeling regret and confusion. In these times, Xue Dili felt he'd aged ten years.

"Old man, no need for self-blame. Isn't it just one student completely turning into a royal spokesperson," replied Xue Dili while hurrying to class.

"I'm fine, just think that kid still hasn't comprehended the issue, still viewing things from his lofty 'Palace Mage' perspective; it's really... I failed to teach well..." sighed Old Green.

Though feeling their worldview absurd, Xue Dili understood when he thought about it. After all, they were a noble lot. Even reduced to such dismal straits, their haughty aristocratic stench couldn't be completely masked by their words.

Even the radiant, pristine princess who never sullied her hands with mundane tasks had a worldview that reminded Xue Dili of those desperate bugs on the Holy Magic Continent eager to sleep with him.

Despite her human essence and fairy tale-like princess appearance, Xue Dili still saw her as nothing but a wicked bug.

Because of the intense greed, whether for restoring a nation, for power, or even for laying claim to him, the Otherworlder, it was complete and utter greed.
