I'm Trying To Go Broke, So Why Do I Keep Getting Richer?!

Chapter 73: The overlooked mistake?

"I suppose you do have a point. This research does hold some value." Leo played along, seeing no point in arguing with a fanatic that had already lost her mind because of all the rumours about him.

"Kid, you're finally thinking properly." Yelina nodded. "Although I can't understand what Lord Leo is planning to use this research for, but with my meagre understanding, I can see a few useful cases."

'Wait what? Did I overlook some use cases that might make this product a hit?' At that moment, Leo's thoughts were thrown into a mess. Did he really miss something?

No matter how much he thought about it, he still couldn't understand. What use could a pants have that made a person look like he was completely naked?

"Think about it! Once we make the invisible pants, we can apply the same technique to shirts, and other clothing attires, launching the product line of Alpha Corp!" Yelina said. "Imagine the sight when you enter an important meeting, wearing our invisible catalogue..."

'Imagine entering an important meeting wearing invisible clothes? Leo almost vomited at the thought. Wasn't that simply walking naked? Did she have some exhibitionist kink?'

Leo looked at Yelina from top to bottom with a weird look. She did have a good figure, but her kinks were truly… special.

'So that's the use case that I hadn't thought about. The invisible pants, and everything else... Wouldn't that just be a heavenly product for exhibitionists to walk around without anything legally?'

He was starting to see a flaw in his plan.

'No wait, there can't be that many exhibitionists in the world, right? Do I even need to research on how many exhibitionists we have to confirm if I can actually fail?'

Leo scratched the back of his head with his free hand. That strange feeling of overlooking something important was starting to grow stronger.

'No. My luck can't be that bad, right? I even have that passive skill. That should prevent this idea from succeeding, right?'

Although Leo was trying to be optimistic, that strange feeling within his heart was starting to grow stronger.

'No, what am I even thinking? Even if there are exhibitionists, the world hasn't gone crazy to that extent, right? The governments of the world will definitely do something about it!'

'They might even make laws to ban the invisible clothes catalogue, seeing the bad impact on morality. I can even pay some online trolls to fan the flames to make governments act!'

Although that strange feeling still existed within him, he had managed to convince himself that everything was within his control. No, it was even better!

If the government actually banned his product that was useless in the first place, all his inventory would be lost!

"Hahaha... What a great plan." He couldn't help but burst into laughter, seeing his plan become even more foolproof.

"Right? I knew you would understand." Yelina smiled, releasing Leo's hand for the first time, only to ruffle up his hair.

She then turned to a room, and tapped her keycard.

"This is where we are test-" After opening the door, she looked back at Leo.

"Hmm? Where did he go?"

To her surprise, Leo was missing.

"Intern? Where are you?" she called out, realising that she even forgot to ask the intern's name.

At the moment, Leo had already stepped out of the lab. He had managed to confirm the situation of the lab, and although the initial plans had gone a little off track, the eventual outcome hadn't changed.

He landed on the dry grass after jumping out the window, patting his hands.

"By the time I become truly rich, I might actually become an expert at jumping out the windows."

He brought out his personal device and sent a message to Picollo.

He was initially planning to invest the billion credits by merging them with the loan, so he could lose everything in one fell swoop.

For now, that plan was a little delayed. Instead, he started focusing on launching his invisible clothing line that was destined to fail.

....

While Leo was walking away, Yelina was still wondering where he had gone.

"Did he already leave? I didn't even get to tell him about the extra features we are trying to add to the invisible clothing line..." Yelina corrected her broken glasses with which she still couldn't see anything properly.

She entered the room, where the other researchers looked just as tired as her. It was like they hadn't slept in a long time. They were simply surviving on coffee.

"Did you complete the analysis?" she asked the researchers, that had gone so slim that some of them could even give Timmy a run for his money.

"I did.." A man weakly said, pushing a report towards Yelina. "It was a success. We can actually merge the ballistic threads to the trousers while keeping the cloaking feature."

"What about adding mana stone dust in the outer layer? Does it affect the invisibility feature in any way?"

"It does. That's one of the only problems we are yet to solve. It makes the invisibility feature unstable. Based on our theory, if we add the mana stone dust, it will just make the pants become invisible, making it look like you're naked."

"Heck? Which idiot would want just the pants to be invisible without hiding what's within? We must remove that instability! We must make our Boss' dream come true! A true invisible pant, which makes your body go invisible!"

"When we achieve that, we can truly make an invisible clothing line that can make you go invisible from head to toe! Imagine how many lives it can save in Dungeons!"

"I know! I'm trying my best! But we will need a little more time. After all, we are adding more features to these pants that we weren't asked for. It's very complicated."

"By next month, we must complete it! We have already wasted two months and hundreds of millions in our parties! It's time to make up for it!"

"I know. Don't worry. We won't disappoint our boss. After all, he is close to Blaze. None of us want to be in his bad books."

The researchers were trying their best since they believed that Leo was working for humanity's future. But the more important reason was that they were scared of Leo finding out the fact that they had used the research funds for their personal needs.

None of them wanted to be destroyed by Blaze like the Hero Tower Master was.

"Though I have a question. Are you sure the boss won't mind all the features that we are adding? We are basically going above and beyond. Shouldn't we ask him first?"
