Tribal Sign-In: Immortal At The Start

Chapter 142: High Commander

"We will do it the old way, let strength do the talking."

All of the group leaders suddenly stood up from their spots, and Zoka asked, "What is he talking about?"

Marin ignored Zoka and asked Rion, "You do know that the tribe can't have its authority fighting with one another...? Right?"

"Do you think all of them would simply allow someone to rule above them?" Asked Rion.

"I... I don't think they would..." Marin mumbled while staring at the group leaders with a disappointed expression.

Zoka's expression turned furious, and he shouted, "What the fuck are you two talking about?!"

The other group leaders were also staring at them with displeased expressions on their faces.

Rion exhaled deeply, walked in the centre of all of them and announced, "By the order and agreement of the Vice Lord, the Den Lord and the Sovereign. I hereby announce the installation of the rank of high commander."

"High commander?" Everyone mumbled under their breaths, and Rion raised an open palm towards Marin.

Marin shook his head and said, "The high commander is the rank above the group leaders and below the vice lord."

He took a step forward and continued, "The high commander can command any of the group leaders and their members for the benefit of the tribe."

He took out a red gemstone necklace from his pouch, looked at it and said, "The high commander has the power to demote and strip any warrior from their rank, and they have the right to execute anyone with actions that are destructive for the tribe."

He placed the necklace on Rion's hand and stepped back.

Rion glanced at the necklace, clenched his fists around it and Drokan muttered, "What is this nonsense?"

All of the group leaders who already had their weapons ready turned towards Drokan and he continued, "You expect us to follow a kid just because he thinks he can do better than us?"

The wooden floor creaked as he stepped near him and said, "Just because the Vice Lord favours you, have you come to think you are special?"

All this time, Rion didn't even turn towards him.

Drokan's face contorted in fury, and he spat, "Answer me, Kid."

Rion turned towards him, looked him in the eye and turned his head towards Zoka as he muttered, "Do you think I am unworthy of this?"

Zoka frowned and looked at Drokan, who had veins bulging all over his face.

"I do," he answered, eyes still on Drokan.

Rion nodded and asked, "Why?"

"Because you are a kid?" Zoka scoffed as if there wasn't even a need to ask that question.

Rion nodded again and challenged, "Then none of you should have any issues in defeating me, right?"

Zoka pressed his lips into a thin line. Drokan placed a hand on Rion's shoulder and growled, "You dare ignore me?"

Rion looked around and answered while pointing at himself, "You are talking to me?"

A dangerous grin appeared on Drokan's face, and Rion continued, "Well, you see my parents have given me a name, and it isn't kid."

Drokan took his hand off Rion's shoulder, walked over to the door and declared, "Come outside.

However, Rion didn't move. Instead, he stared at Drakon and said, "You want to fight?"

Drokan stopped in his tracks and muttered, "Do I have to spell it out for you?"

Confusion appeared on Rion's face, and he asked with a tilted head, "But why should I fight you?"

Everyone blinked at him, and Rion added, "I mean, what would I get by defeating a shameless guy like you? Not like I can ask anything from you after you run away to your little cage now, can I?"

Arok leaned closer to Marin and mumbled, "I think he is overdoing it..."

Marin let a dry chuckle and whispered, "I don't think he is acting."

Arok looked at Marin, blinked a few times and let out a chuckle.

<Are you sure about this?> Valak's voice echoed in Rion's head.

Rion smiled and answered with Mental Whisper, <Have you forgotten, chieftain? In the Den, strength matters the most.>

Valak heaved a sigh, and Drokan muttered, "If you defeat me, then I will kneel before you."

'Oh?' Rion blinked and wondered, 'From where does he get the idea that he can defeat me after I overpowered Zoka with just my aura?'

Suddenly, Zoka stepped forward and bellowed, "Fight me as well."

Rion blinked again, and Gartner spoke, "I will make you pay for disrespecting me."

'He is putting others against me?' Rion thought and chuckled inwardly, 'Well, the most logical way for them to defeat me would be to tire me, but unfortunately, I have an immortal body.'

Rhaek also stepped forward and hissed, "I'll teach you respect."

Rion shifted his gaze between the remaining and asked, "What about you four?"

Kara, Naqir and Sovra looked at each other before they walked behind him, and Kara said, "I am fine with whatever you want me to do, but I want my free time."

"Just don't try to peep into my secrets," said Sovra.

"I never wanted to be a group leader to begin with," Naqir said with a smile.

Rion chuckled, and his eyes shifted at the last person.

Haria stared back at him and mumbled with a grin, "I do wanna fight you..."

"Should we change the team?" Naqir answered while looking at Haria as if he were looking at some monster.

'You just joined me!!' Rion remarked inwardly and said with a grin, "Then I'll fight with you after all of this is over."

Haria's eyes gleamed in delight. She looked at Drokan and snorted, "Even if you haven't said so, I wouldn't have joined this bunch of losers."

"We'll be taking turns. Stup up, panther," Zoka glared at Haria.

Haria stuck out her tongue and growled, "Why don't you try shutting me up?"

A vein throbbed at his forehead, and before he could respond to her, Rion looked at Rhaek and stated with a cruel grin, "Let's start with Rhaek."

Rhaek froze and looked at the other three, only for them to look away.

"...glup," he gulped, and Rion gestured for them to step out.
