Slime Leveling [Litrpg, Timeloop]

Chapter 114—Universal Tongue {Mythic+}

"Hmm." Lily glanced at the multicolored slime in front of her and grinned softly.

"Your strongest spell?" Slime#47 asked again as the students stared at the exotic demon.

"My strongest spell is Deep Forest Descent," Lily replied, winking at the young slime.

"Okay… that's enough." Seralyth clapped her hands, ending the discussion.

'She's too close.' Young Slime mused as Lily sat beside him instead of returning to her seat. And on his right was Haruto.

He looked back. He was sitting on the writing desk because he couldn't write properly from the bench due to his small size.

'She's watching me,' he thought irritably as he noticed her eyes fixed on him.

It wasn't that he wouldn't enjoy a woman's affection.

'I need to complete this trial quicker and get stronger to build a safe place,' he vowed. 'I can't even save my life, much less focus on finding love.'

He felt bitter. In his previous life, when he wanted love, he didn't find it. Now that he couldn't afford it, it came knocking.

Seralyth glanced at everyone and announced sharply, "Now let's move on to elves' languages…"

She wrote on the board, "Elves have one true language and several common languages."

Then she looked at the class again. "For elves, the first language is Elfiona. To learn it, one must have a healing magic rune."

She knew many lacked the healing rune.

"I will give you one hour. It's not a spell—just a magic rune. Acquire it," she commanded coldly.

Then she leaned back against the board.

'What?! One hour… but where am I supposed to learn it from?' Slime#47 wondered nervously.

"Little cutie, want me to teach you?" Lily asked, leaning on the desk and glancing at the young slime to her right.

"Okay…" the multicolored slime agreed instantly.

"Heal," Lily said. It wasn't a spell. Rather, just the rune.

A light-green magic rune flashed on her palm. From it, a small wisp of light-green rays fell on Young Slime.

He nodded, controlled his mana, visualized the healing rays, and formed a rune similar to Lily's.

ZZZ!

A light-green magic rune flared on his tiny palm.

[ Ding! You have acquired Healing Magic Rune Mastery! ]

A notification appeared in his vision.

"Good… you are impressive," Lily praised, hiding her shock, 'In less than one minute, he acquired the rune?'

If she knew he had Mana Mastery at Tier 2—his control over mana off the charts—then failing to learn it within a minute would have been utter disgrace for him.

The fox instructor nodded with appreciation and ended the free time.

"Good. Now start Elfiona."

"What?"

"Miss Seralyth?"

"Not even one minute has passed!"

Students questioned doubtfully.

"You… the first year started quite some time ago. You demons still don't know the basic magic runes?" the white fox snarled coldly.

"Looks like I have to speak with your magic combat instructor, Thomas," she scowled, glaring at the students who didn't know the healing rune.

"What? Instructor Thomas?"

"Oh my god!"

"We are toast!"

"Save us, Lord Remora!"

---

A few days later…

[ Ding! Your Elf Tongue {Rare} has leveled up to Lv.Max! ]

'Done… I'm fluent in elf languages as well,' Slime#47 mused with a wide grin.

Pat!

"What are you happy about, little guy?" Lily asked softly.

She picked him up and hugged him close.

"You are so cute," she said, rubbing her wooden cheek against him.

Slime#47 sighed. He had gotten used to her over the past few days.

Tap! Tap!

The fox instructor wrote on the board, "Now let's start the Titan languages… They have one true language and several common languages."

She paused, "You need the earth magic rune for this."

Young Slime spread his right palm. The earth magic rune flared on it.

But Seralyth continued without even turning to glance at him.

'She can sense all five basic elements from my multicolored body…' Slime#47 mused, his eyes twitching.

He had shown the rune because she had paused for him before, but he didn't expect her to ignore it completely.

Another few days slipped by…

[ Ding! Your Titan Tongue {Rare} has leveled up to Lv.Max! ]

---

[ Ding! Your Spirit Tongue {Rare} has leveled up to Lv.Max! ]

---

The trial days passed by...

He focused on learning languages under insane pressure.

One month later…

"Here," the white fox said, giving the potions to the students again.

Slime#47 caught them and—Gulp! Gulp!—drank both again.

'To think she would give those potions again…' Professor Brad thought, impressed, 'Anyone can manage a few potions… but an entire class of more than 1,000 students?'

He grinned slightly. "She must be feeling very reluctant…You are lucky kids."

He glanced at the students forced to focus under the cyan lava above their heads.

---

Another month later…

Gulp!

He drank them again.

---

Just when there were fifteen days left—

'I still have to learn more.' Young Slime tensed. He had learned only the languages of a few dozen races.

Yet he remembered there were millions of races—back when he had the option to select his race while reincarnating.

'What to do? What to do?' He was nervous, 'I don't want to spend another loop learning languages.'

His non-existent head already felt like it was spinning.

"I see letters of different languages floating in front of my eyes," he muttered under his breath.

Ding!

A notification suddenly flashed in his vision.

[ Ding! You have acquired the skill Universal Tongue {Mythic+} Lv.1! ]

[ —Skills—

—Universal Tongue {Mythic+} Lv.1—

—Proficiency: 1/100

—Allows the user to understand hundreds of languages, with extraordinary fluency! ]

'This…' Young Slime was shocked as knowledge of unknown languages—ones he hadn't studied—poured into him.

'I know one undead true language… and more…' He checked the new skill, stunned.

Clap!

Seralyth drew everyone's attention as she started a new topic.

"Let's start with humans. Humans have hundreds of languages, but you all don't need to learn them."

She looked at Slime#47. "Just bring Human Tongue to Lv.Max. You'll get all the human languages' fluency in both writing and speaking."

She pulled a piece of white chalk from thin air and wrote on the blackboard.

"Let's start with the first true language of humans—Volic."

"Volic is a tonal language, which focuses on tones. Remember," she said sharply.

She paused.

"It has 1121 letters. It is the toughest to learn for us demons."
