Slime Leveling [Litrpg, Timeloop]

Chapter 118—Break Down

"Hyper Regeneration," Shadow said, pouring massive amounts of mana into the spell.

"Don't die…!" Shadow roared. "You cannot…you must not!"

But the spell was useless as Slime#47 kept writhing on the floor.

"Fellow kings… help me," Shadow barked.

The open forest field started to glow with insane black energy.

'I want him dead this time,' Vael mused, grinning cruelly. He didn't want Slime#47 to escape.

He glanced at the rising black energy.

"You cannot save him!" Vael yelled.

He decided to use his trump card, despite getting zapped by the sealed artifact's seal.

Zzz!

"Authority of Time!" Vael screamed.

Then he got knocked out by the sealed artifact's suppression.

Just as more silhouettes were about to form in the field—

Slime#47 turned into dust and disappeared.

----

A few moments earlier…

In Slime#47's soul dimension…

The young slime's soul—half fused with Vael's soul— and the other half shook as the will barrier cracked under the energy-blade attack.

It struggled to keep up as cracks spread across more than half the barrier.

At that moment, a transparent white light descended onto the Will barrier.

The cracks expanded rapidly. The energy blade was only moments away from striking the young slime's soul.

'No… I still have to create a safe place… for Mama Slime and Elder Slime…and myself!' Young Slime roared internally.

His will strengthened for a moment; some cracks healed slightly, temporarily holding.

And in that instant, a notification popped up in his vision.

[ Ding! ]

[ Proceeding to kill Slime#47! ]

[ Casting 'Black Lightning of Destruction'! ]

However, Slime#47 couldn't focus due to the massive pain tearing through his soul.

He held on—still alive—only because of his mythic-level Supreme Pain Tolerance skill.

'It hurts… it hurts…' he winced, eyes wet from extreme agony.

No ordinary living being could withstand that kind of pain.

----

In the Demon King's castle—inside the trial room…

The young slime sat on a magic array, eyes closed, sweating heavily.

ZZZ!

A dark lightning bolt descended from the sky and struck his body at insane speed.

"What?!" Elder Slime was shocked by the sudden mana burst and the shift in the surroundings.

He barely had time to glance at Slime#47.

He couldn't even react to the lightning's speed.

In a fraction of a second, the multicolored slime turned into dust.

----

In the nothingness…

"Why didn't Vael's attack stop after death?" Young Slime mused in pain.

He couldn't even open his eyes. However, he sensed two bright lights forming.

A fifteen-meter-tall, transparent, beautiful, human female silhouette appeared in the nothingness, gazing at an unconscious blue jelly blob with pity.

Beside her formed another massive transparent silhouette—a handsome male with long, flowing white hair.

"Another time," the lady muttered, fury surging as blue energy covered the entire nothingness.

"Hmm."

Her hum instantly suppressed Vael and his Authority of Time, wiping out the energy blade that was about to shatter Slime#47's will barrier.

Slime#47 fainted the very next second, despite his wish to see their faces.

'Damn it… you…' Vael cursed the two silhouettes, unable to form his small humanoid clone outside.

----

A few minutes later…

In Young Slime's soul dimension…

Large, bulky golden chains manifested.

The chains wrapped around Vael's entire white soul—along with half of Young Slime's soul—binding tightly.

The multicolored slime's body twitched as the chains tightened.

"Temporarily, the threat is cleared," the lady said with a bitter smile, watching Young Slime's twitching eyes.

"What about the cracks on his will barrier?" she asked, turning to the Time God.

"….."

"…."

----

A few minutes later…

"…If he doesn't heal his will barrier, he could die anytime. And it will be true death," the Time God simplified.

"And level-ups won't work… since it's an injury from Authority of Time…" the lady exclaimed, realizing Young Slime was doomed.

"Due to this… he cannot live for long, much less loop indefinitely," the Time God added coldly.

----

After a few months…

Slime#47 regained consciousness.

He clutched his upper body. It was still hurting.

He trembled as he took time to adjust.

"Ahhh!" Young Slime opened his eyes to a black void.

"I feel my soul is tightening by something…" he muttered with a grunt. The pain was still there.

"Vael!!!!" he roared in fury. The pain only fed his rage.

His small mistake of using it had caused him this suffering.

'Not once, but twice—it brought me to death,' he thought. He knew he wouldn't have looped again if he had fallen at either of those two moments because he'd felt it....his death.

"I want to hit myself," he muttered as the pain didn't stop.

His vision darkened for a few seconds.

He took deep breaths to calm down, but failed.

After a few minutes…

"Why doesn't it heal…?" he whispered. He was barely holding on after adjusting.

"I want to see my soul… what happened," he decided.

He was about to use Seralyth's power—his own strength wasn't enough to check his soul—

However—

Ding!

A notification flashed in his vision.

[ Ding!]

[ Your half soul fused with Vael is sealed! ]

[ Ding! Your will is significantly suppressed by the sealed artifact's seal! ]

[ Ding! Caution! Caution! Your soul essence is leaking!! ]

A red notification blazed in Slime#47's vision.

[ Ding! You can die at any moment! ]

[ Ding! You are now weak to soul attacks! ]

[ Note: It is recommended to learn soul defense skills to stop true death! ]

[ Ding! You require an authority to heal your will and stop the leakage of soul essence! ]

"What… what just happened?" Slime#47 whispered, stunned. His eyes turned wet. "Why… why… what did I do to suffer so much…?"

His vision darkened as his core began to ache.

His breathing deepened. His tiny palms started shaking uncontrollably.

He didn't understand why he had to suffer like this.

He never liked the idea of reincarnation or isekai to begin with. All he wanted was to enjoy anime, manga, novels—and chill.

He couldn't control it anymore. Tears started to fall.

He remembered everything he had been through.

'Why… is the pain in my soul still present?' he thought bitterly as tears pooled beneath him.

"This pain will continue forever…" he understood. "Even loops cannot save me anymore…"
