Rivi took a long breath as she re-entered her body lying outside the tent she shared with Rufi and I. She looked up at the star-coated sky, an ancient melancholy dwelling in her gaze. After a while she shook herself, some of her usual bubbliness returning to her features.
She sighed and murmured into the night. "This is why I hate giving advice, I always have to get so…serious about it."
She gave another shake of her head, then pushed herself off the ground and re-entered the tent. "Ah, Silvie," she murmured to herself, her gaze softening as she took in my sleeping form. "Somehow you always make me feel so sure of myself." She reached out and stroked the edge of my blanket, careful not to do anything that might wake me. Then she turned and slipped under her own covers, closing her eyes as she slowly drifted off to sleep.
***
I woke up just before first light as the sky was just beginning to brighten from black to deep blue. Normally I wouldn't be caught dead at such an hour, but for some reason I had jolted awake and felt annoyingly alert and restless.
Sighing, I got up and carefully made my way around Rivi's sleeping form to sit just outside the tent entrance. A millennia old incarnation of the Goddess of Death…I sighed. Just what have I gotten myself into? Of course I'd know about Rivi's true nature ever since Noe had taken me aside and shown me all those visions, but I suppose it hadn't really sunk in just what that might mean. A daughter? That she had centuries ago?? With a harem of other lovers???
I tilted my head back looking up at the slowly brightening sky. How did I even get caught up in all this? I was just a seventeen year-old with a strict dad who travelled too much, and now I'm…what? A soon-to-be concubine of a goddess? The word 'concubine' made my pulse race.
Is that really what I am to her? Just her next romantic conquest? Is that why she picked me from the litter of the other gods, just so she could have some fun with a new potential mate? The words struck at something in me, yet I also couldn't help but think about her adorable tear-stained eyes the first time we met when she'd come chasing after me after my panic attack.
Or the way she laughed and wriggled under my fingers as I tickled her down on the ground just the day before. Or the way her lips moved so deliciously against my own, softly guiding me toward the ways of the divine.
"Aggh!" I groaned, and put my head in my hands. "What am I supposed to doo, she's just too cutee."
A concubine's not so bad, right? If it's Rivi… My face flushed as I thought about when I had asked her to be my master.
"Oh god," I groaned. "Is this really what my life's become?"
"And just what has your life become?" A black-haired head with brown horns poked out of the tent entrance.
"R-Rivi!" I scrambled backwards. "Wh-what are you doing up so early!?"
"Mm," She put a finger to her lips thoughtfully. "I heard a little one's groans, thought I'd come out to see what was troubling my little pet."
"P-pet?" I turned away from her, my face flush. "I thought we already discussed my opinion on you calling me a small animal." I grumbled.
She laughed. "Ahh, you make it so hard to resist!" She looked at me with those mischievous eyes, though she bit her tongue and held herself back from going further.
And I couldn't help but see myself reflected in them, pouting like a puppy who just lost her favorite toy. *cough* *cough* I didn't…hate it? Wait, gods, what am I thinking, no, no, I can't…I tried to catch myself before it was too late, but I felt a strange fluttery feeling in my chest and a warmth pooling in my lower regions.
"Um, Rivi," I bit my lip, looking at her, the red of my eyes dimly glowing as a faint red mist drifted off my finger tips. "C-could you call me p-puppy again?"
Rivi's eyes widened, and then sharpened, a dangerous kind of hunger flickering over her gaze. "Are you sure you want me to pet?" her voice turned into a husky whisper, as she leaned in closer to me. "If I do it might be hard to…hold back," she breathed into the corner of my ear, her face now a mere breath away from my own.
"Mm," I nodded the red fog still clouding my sense of reason, as all I could think about as I looked into her gorgeous black eyes were how much I wanted to taste her lips again.
"Well then my little puppy," my breath caught in my throat as she indulged me. "tell me, what do you want?"
Rivi held herself back at the last moment, trying to give me a way out, but I didn't want it.
"Tell me you love me," I said too quickly, pawing at her chest with a fist curled to resemble a paw, as I wrapped my lips around the side of her mouth. "Tell me…" I moved up her cheek. "I'm a good girl." A shiver ran down my spine as I said words that would have brought a bright red flame to my cheeks if I even thought about saying them while I was more sane.
"Oh my, my puppy's got teeth," Rivi chuckled and pulled her arm under my waist, bringing me down on my back on her lap. I instinctively raised both my hands above me like a dog that's been rolled over.
She leaned down over me and gave me a soft kiss on the lips. I sunk into it, my whole body relaxing as I rode the soft wave of her lips, our tongues giving eachother a brief dance before she pulled back. "Don't push yourself too hard." She said sternly, then gave me a kiss on the forehead. "You're still getting used to all this, I don't want you to do anything you'll regret, ok?"
I looked at her retreating lips with longing, but I nodded, content for the moment with the taste of paradise she had given me, and the warmth of her lap that I was still basking in. "Ok," I said reluctantly. "But let me stay here a little longer," I said, wrapping my arms around her waist, and burying my head in her crotch.
She smirked and shook her head. "Alright, little one." She petted my head gently. "Stay as long as you need."
