The weekends in Hedan are a blessing for the Hedan people. Li Xin arrived at the Saint Grace Canon Law School. The school was grandly constructed, with plenty of handsome men and beautiful women. Back in the Celestial Capital, Li Xin thought Roland was somewhat special, but upon arriving at Saint Grace, he realized there were indeed many of this type. Due to its proximity to the Saint George District, Saint Grace Academy also had many immigrants. To be precise, in Hedan, the Saint Grace Canon Law School is the only one accepting immigrants and paying special attention to Hex-Tech. Other knight academies in Hedan still don't have Hex-Tech courses.
Simmons personally accompanied Li Xin around the Saint Grace Canon Law School. It was evident that Simmons hadn't yet come down from his excitement. It was understandable; with this main force, soaring like an eagle, Simmons truly might take off.
"In terms of area, Saint Grace is about the same size as the Celestial Capital Canon Law School. Although our Hex-Tech can't compare, our level is the best and most emphasized in Moncalleta." Simmons said.
Li Xin knew Simmons was being modest. The scope was much larger, and hardware-wise, it looked much better. Of course, the level of a canon law school wasn't judged by this—it was about combat power. He'd also heard from Luo Xue that Saint Grace's overall standard was very high.
The courses at the Saint Grace Canon Law School were also more diverse, going a step further in secret knowledge. Here they had magic potion classes, with some basic prescriptions being public. This was something unavailable in the Celestial Capital, making Li Xin marvel. Normally, a resource-rich country would indulge in comfort, yet Moncalleta indeed was somewhat unique. Despite divine favor, they performed remarkably in this aspect. Even with Li Xin's keen insight, he found it quite impressive.
Reform is generally born of necessity. For a powerful entity like Moncalleta to still be willing to experiment is truly commendable.
After looking around, Li Xin was in high spirits. He liked the open and grand architectural style, which was imposing and aesthetically pleasing. Of course, all this was built on the foundation of wealth. The stones and various materials used, the decorative details, craftsmanship—all required substantial financial backing. Moncalleta, with ample accumulation, could indeed achieve this.
Simmons walked with Li Xin, while in the Saint Grace battle team's base, Celestia, Lancer, and others were buzzing with discussion. The captain had made them wait early in the morning, saying he would bring back a key figure.
"Celestia, what on earth is the boss up to, being so secretive?" Lancer was getting a little impatient.
"How would I know? You know him better than I do," Celestia shrugged. Her cousin had just ignited his fighting spirit, yet she had no idea what he was up to. She arranged a few objectives, albeit from lower standings, yet they still had their pride. Without the captain taking action, recruitment was improbable.
"Rock, you've been in stellar form lately. Your combat power is soaring. Damn, are you aiming to become the Prince Consort?" Lancer teased.
With stubborn red curly hair and a slightly darker complexion than the rest, the half-blood handsome Rock smiled, "Becoming a Prince Consort is another matter. I, Rock, fight for Saint Grace—there's no shirking that responsibility!"
"Haha, well said. Our boss's trait is caution. Now that he has an idea, he must be prepared and planned. Looking across the whole of Moncalleta, only our Saint Grace can uphold the canon law school banner!" Lancer, in a bit of an oratorical mood, had been stifled for long enough. Moncalleta was passionate and flamboyant, yet their leader was too low-key, leading to their emotions being somewhat pent-up.
At their age, they had an insatiable thirst for glory and fame, needing a stage to showcase to all of Moncalleta, and to Your Majesty and the Princess, their strength.
Not that they were aiming specifically for the position of Prince Consort, but what if? After all, even the little redhead dared to dream.
"Celestia, you're so active, could it be that you're targeting Prince Achilles? That guy's a playboy," Lancer said. Celestia was the goddess of the Saint Grace Canon Law School. Her entry instead of joining the Knight Academy had caused quite a stir, especially since she had once served as an attendant to a princess.
"I'm merely interested in his strength, but one can't judge by appearances," Celestia replied. "This Second Prince is no ordinary man. Word has it that he was highly praised in the Holy Hall and during his return in Hedan, met no equal."
"Celestia, who'd dare go all out against the Prince?" Rock couldn't help but laugh. Everyone laughed along. Achilles might not be weak, but was anyone here weak? Unless on a certain stage, otherwise dueling intensely with the Prince sounded insane.
Sparring and fighting with all one's might are worlds apart in terms of battle level.
Five years had passed without a major competition, and both the Knight Academy and canon law school students had a pent-up eagerness, awaiting this grand opportunity.
"Why hasn't the person arrived yet? How important can they be to warrant such a grand invitation from the captain?"
"No idea. The boss said this person is our team's trump card. Getting him onboard today will surely bolster our strength." Lancer didn't know either; it couldn't be that chef, right? Ever since meeting that chef, the boss had been acting strange.
Neither being from the Celestial Capital nor being a chef were aspects Lancer could easily accept.
"I need to use the bathroom, can't hold it." Rock said while wriggling his hips, "I'll be right back."
"Hurry up, why so fussy after coming back from the Celestial Capital, you're like a woman... uh, Celestia, I didn't mean it that way. Please don't kick," Lancer immediately got a kick, hopping around yet it somehow seemed intentional.
Amidst their laughter and banter, Simmons returned with Li Xin, face beaming with joy, to the base. Seeing the captain's return, everyone straightened up, instantly exuding the aura of Hedan's elite, with their eyes all landing on the newcomer.
Li Xin rubbed his nose, his gaze falling upon Celestia... This girl had a great bearing, lively in a way. Especially her neat short hair stood out in a place filled with long-haired individuals, offering a refreshing change, stirring some of his own memories.
Even though his look was purely one of appreciation, it triggered strong dissatisfaction among Lancer and others. If not for Simmons being present, they would have erupted long ago. Despite their usual joking around with Celestia, outsiders showing the slightest disrespect would indeed face rebirth from their hands.
Simmons didn't notice this; to him, Celestia wasn't any different from a man. "Everyone, let me introduce: Li Xin. He will soon join our Saint Grace Canon Law School. He's a master I worked hard to enlist, to be our trump card in the upcoming Glory Battle. Of course, during free times, Brother Li will also spar with everyone—it's a great learning chance."
Simmons saw nothing unusual in what he said, but to others, it was unbelievable, especially those with some memory. Wasn't this Li Xin just a substitute at the Celestial Capital Canon Law School? They had a vague memory of him. How did he get here?
"Boss, the Glory Battle doesn't test Hex-Tech, right?" Bucklera couldn't help but speak up.
"That's right, boss, the slots are limited. We want to augment, sure, but gambling on Hex-Tech isn't good," Rock interjected, having returned and already unhappy with Li Xin's scrutiny of Celestia. He rubbed his forehead hard, trying to project some macho energy.
Simmons waved his hand with a laugh. "It's not about Hex-Tech. You'll know soon enough."
Lancer, being Simmons's right-hand man, held back. Looking at this chef provoked him, but it wasn't the time to argue. What on earth was going on?
"I'm Li Xin, previously from Lilong. New here, I ask for your guidance," Li Xin cupped his hands in the Lilong fashion.
No one responded. Even though he was brought by Simmons, they weren't convinced—no, they weren't convinced at all. Being selected into the battle team from among a thousand in the canon law school, each was outstanding, either possessing Divine Relics or having explosive Spiritual Ability talents, excelling in specific areas.
Celestia smiled and winked, "Aren't we having a newcomer welcome ceremony?"
