CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror

Chapter 106: True Form

Samuel sliced his claws at Crow only for him to block it with the Nether Spear. The purple spear spread dark veins and grayness to Samuel's hand.

"Cage…" Samuel spoke softly.

Crow slapped Samuel's claws away and swiped the blade at his chest.

Samuel was incredibly fast. He stepped back and got out of range of the spear.

The scientist recognized that fighting style everywhere.

"You're alive? No, you aren't. You have become one of them."

Crow didn't answer as he marched forward and swung his spear at Samuel. The spider beneath him shot out purple webs at Samuel.

Samuel turned into a blur and dodged all of their attacks. He jumped backwards, creating distance between them.

"Don't you understand? I did this for her and you. We can live together in peace. There will be no great war anymore. The living and the dead can exist harmoniously."

"You're too smart to understand something so simple, Ziegler."

"What is that?"

"The dead have to move on."

Samuel laughed manically. He flew to the sky.

"They move on when they want to. Not when this filthy world decides they have to."

Samuel's wings covered him as he dove down from above. His long claw aimed at Crow.

A pillar of ice shot up from the ground, blocking the strike. Samuel didn't slow down. He broke through the ice only to see Mater was already there.

The black cat opened its mouth and screamed.

The soundwave diverted Samuel and flung him to the nearby tree.

Ice spikes shot up from the tree and pierced through Samuel's body. Green blood flooded out.

"You're not even a human anymore. Just an abomination like me." Crow threw the javelin at Samuel, impaling him on the tree.

"Abomination, huh? That sounds fitting. Aren't we all abominations in some way shape or form?"

Samuel pulled the Nether Spear out of his chest. His eyes landed on Aurora and Mater.

Crow was very agile and skilled in fighting. Ending him would take a lot of time. That cat and the white girl seemed to only be using their skill at a distance. Samuel needed to deal with them first before he could take care of Crow.

Samuel jumped down from the tree and went down on all four. His speed increased as he dashed to Aurora.

Aurora summoned an ice wall to block Samuel. He went around her and drove his claw at her back.

Surprisingly, Aurora didn't even budge. Samuel felt the familiar cold of Crow's spear climbing to his hand.

"You?! You aren't alive?!" Samuel stared at Aurora with wide eyes.

Aurora grabbed Samuel's hands and held him in place.

Crow turned into a strip of shadow and appeared right behind Samuel. The Abyssal Abomination sliced the spear through his back, creating a long open wound.

Samuel screamed in pain. He lifted Aurora up and threw her away. Then he turned his back and punched at Crow, sending him away.

Samuel looked around but couldn't find Mater. 'Where is that black cat?'

"You are only an average Menace NCE, Cage. I'm almost Hazard now. You can't beat me."

Samuel approached Crow. Then he fell down. Bash woke up and grabbed at Samuel's feet with his remaining hand.

"Do not hurt my friend."

"Filthy thing! Get off me! What kind of experiment are you?!" Samuel sliced at Bash's hand.

His claws bounced back. Fire sparks flew to the air.

"What?!" Samuel widened his eyes. He only had glimpses of Valerie's memory and did not understand Bash's true durability.

An ice pillar emerged from the ground and trapped Samuel. Aurora used the remaining of her Chaos to constantly pierced Samuel with Ice Spikes from within the cage.

Samuel groaned in pain. Green blood flooded out even more. He kept losing his energy more and more.

The scientist punched a hole through the ice and jumped out. His body was filled with ice spikes but all the wounds were slowly regenerating.

Crow threw the Nether Spear at Samuel's head. His head split to four and grabbed the spear in mid-air.

"I told you, Cage. This is useless. You can't win."

Samuel broke the spear into two and threw it to the side. His claw emerged again as he slowly walked toward Crow.

"Running out of NES, aren't you? I can sense your emptied vessel even from here."

Crow got himself up and leaned against a tree trunk. "You did all of this. Killing all of these people. For what?"

"For love, Crow. It's my fault that she's dead. I can't allow her to die. I can't. Death is only a state. Death can be conquered.

Just like how we conquer the sky and space. Humanity shall rule over death and no one would have to be afraid of it any more."

Aurora got up as well. She dusted herself off and said. "Death isn't a state. Death is the only true thing in this world.

Everything dies."

Samuel turned to her and squinted his eyes. "And what even are you? A ghost? A spirit?"

"I am a wight."

Suddenly, gun shots rang out. Bullets dug out several holes onto Samuel's body, grayness spread on his skin.

The scientist turned to the direction of the shot. Selina was there holding a revolver.

"Didn't think you made it out alive, Sordenfield." Samuel said.

"I am not my mother." Selina said.

The scientist's pupils dilated. "So many familiar faces today. Unfortunately, you will all have to die."

Samuel rushed at Selina with his claws. Her tattoo lit up in gold as a barrier enveloped her. The barrier repulsed Samuel away and burned him. Those wounds didn't heal up.

"The GAIM is messing with my power?!" Samuel said.

Mater appeared on top of Samuel's head. "Playtime is over."

The black cat had used Minor Distortion to temporarily go out of sight.

Mater used Desperation Scream and forced Samuel on his knees. He then blasted another two Nether Spheres that forced a hole out of the ground and pushed Samuel under.

Crow also got up. His empty Chaos Well quickly filled up. He and Aurora hadn't even used up the spare Chaos Spheres that Mater gave them.

The two of them got back to fighting state quickly.

"Unfortnately, Ziegler. There is no more time to talk. Master wants us to finish this quickly."

Crow summoned another Nether Spear in his hand.

Aurora placed her hands on the ground.
