Ye Jingyi was terrified, her face panicked as she tugged at Jiang Chen's sleeve.

"How can it be all right? You've killed us both." Lin Wan's face turned even paler with fear as she quietly reprimanded him.

But Jiang Chen ignored her and instead turned with a smile to watch the black-clad men clearing out the room.

Before long, all the patrons of the gambling den were cleared out, except for Jiang Chen and his two companions. A man with a scar on his face approached them and stared menacingly at Jiang Chen, "Kid, you came here to cause trouble on purpose, didn't you?"

"No," Jiang Chen shook his head, "If I were here to cause trouble, I wouldn't have brought these two girls. In fact, I'm not here to win money. I'm here to pick someone up. Release my friend's brother, Lin Cheng, and I don't want a penny of the winnings. How about that?"

"How about that? No way!"

Scarface sneered, "You think you can just say let him go and we'll let him go? Who do you think you are? Winnings? I didn't see you win any money, but I did see you cheating here."

In the car, Jiang Chen glanced at Lin Wan who was taking care of her brother in the back seat and joked, "Lin Wan, isn't it time to start calling me daddy?"

Lin Wan was stunned for a moment, gave Jiang Chen a glare, wanted to curse but couldn't bring herself to do it. Her eyes became complex as she wasn't sure how to express her gratitude to Jiang Chen.

"That's enough," Ye Jingyi frowned at Jiang Chen, then softly added, "Thank you."

Jiang Chen turned to look at Ye Jingyi, smiled faintly, "With those words from you, my day has been worthwhile."

Ye Jingyi was taken aback, felt a sudden warmth in her heart, turned her head back to the road ahead, a slight smile curling her lips.

Once they reached the city, Ye Jingyi parked the car on the street near Jiang Chen's home and said softly, "You go back first, I'll take them to the hospital."

"Okay," Jiang Chen nodded, opened the car door, and got out.

Watching Ye Jingyi drive away, Jiang Chen smiled and turned to walk toward his residential area.

Suddenly, his phone rang. Jiang Chen took it out, answered with curiosity, "Hello?"

"Hey, Jiang Chen, it's Wang Dongyang," Wang Dongyang's voice came through the speaker.

Jiang Chen paused, then asked softly, "What's the matter?"

"Good news, come to Fuyunlai Hotel, I'm treating you to a meal."

"A meal?" Jiang Chen was surprised for a moment, wondering why this guy wanted to invite him out to eat. He felt like refusing, but considering that Wang Dongyang was Ye Jingyi's brother-in-law, it wouldn't hurt to build a good relationship with him, so he nodded and agreed, "Alright, I'll be there."
