Chapter 9: I Know Everything! (Proud Part 4)

"Ah, me..."

Gu Mo glanced at the fellow sitting across from him, eagerly raised his hand and waved with a grin, about to introduce himself.

"Wait, wait! Your, your clothes—"

Himura Kagome, who had been staring intensely at him since earlier, finally realized what that dissonance was. Her pupils contracted sharply as she pointed at his clothes.

This style, so out of place, clearly doesn't belong to this era! It was the first time in this Warring States Era, five hundred years ago, that she had seen anyone besides herself looking so modern!

"You! You're from my era too?!"

The girl was utterly shocked and naturally made such an assumption. She thought it might be the case, extrapolating from her own experiences.

Others were also visibly shocked, including Inuyasha, whose eyes widened. Just driven by fury, he only realized now after Himura Kagome's remark that this person did indeed have that "five hundred years later" modern style he once witnessed!

Even Kikyo frowned slightly, subconsciously scrutinizing the attire of the person beside her and the girl opposite.

"Ah? No, that's not it. I'm not from your era, please don't misunderstand..." Gu Mo cheerfully waved his hands, speaking earnestly and sincerely.

"Huh? No, not? But why are your clothes so, so..." Himura Kagome felt even more bewildered. She stared wide-eyed at the modern style on his body. Was this just a coincidence? But how could there be such a ridiculous coincidence?

"Which era are your clothes from?!" She was getting frustrated, scratching her head. Did her historical knowledge fail her? Did such fashion styles exist at this time?

"Oh, this... it's from the 21st century." The young man looked down at himself and casually answered.

"Huh? Wait, wait! Then why did you just say you're not from my era?!" Himura Kagome looked incredulously across from her; even terms like the 21st century popped up. Surely, like her, he was someone not from this time!

"I'm not wrong to say that... Uh, Miss Himura, is it okay if I call you that?" Gu Mo pondered for a moment, looking at the sailor-uniformed girl opposite, and asked.

Miss Himura?

Beside her, Kikyo lowered her eyelids, gripping the bow and arrow more tightly. Why did this person suddenly know what being polite meant?

"Su-sure..."

Himura Kagome nodded blankly, a bit dazed. That was fine, but why did it seem like something was still not quite right?

"That's good then, Miss Himura. Let me put it this way... strictly speaking, you live in 1996, and there's quite a big difference from my time." Gu Mo chuckled, explaining casually, "The era I live in is already 2022, does that make sense to you?"

"Uh, is that so? I guess it is! There's almost a thirty-year gap..."

The girl thought seriously, seemingly realizing something, instantly feeling a little embarrassed as she laughed it off, completely unaware that she had been led astray—she only wanted to confirm if both were from the future; the specific years weren't the main point.

"Wait, something still seems off..." Himura Kagome thought hard, feeling she realized something, staring at Gu Mo in amazement, "How did you know my surname just now? I never told you, did I? Do, do you know me?"

Gu Mo nodded with a still bright smile: "Of course I know, I know you, Himura Kagome, I know Inuyasha, I know Master Maitreya, I know Qi Bao, and I know Shirotsubaki, Sesshomaru and the others..."

He readily admitted, naming one by one, causing a strange feeling among the group, with Master Maitreya and Little Fox Qi Bao exchanging glances.

"If you keep spouting this nonsense, I'll tear your mouth apart! Besides, these things have already happened, anyone can find that out! Who do you think you're fooling!" Inuyasha shouted in anger, unable to bear it any longer, veins popping on his forehead!

This person definitely had ulterior motives, mentioning names that could be found out.

They were either people who existed now or those who appeared in the past, but using his relatives to make some kind of point, trying to prove or trick him... that's what's unforgivable!

Gu Mo glanced at him, smiling as he said—

"...I also know Kuzuha."
