He Ate a Divine Dragon

Chapter 466: Mao Sui Recommends Himself

Lin Xiao wasn't the least bit surprised that Shang Tuo had pointed out his identity. After all, the man had an extraordinary background. It wouldn't have been difficult for him to investigate Lin Xiao. In fact, Lin Xiao was certain Shang Tuo had already looked into him before arriving.

Shao Mei'er, however, was utterly shocked.

No, this is staggering. She had always thought Lin Xiao was connected to the wealthiest conglomerate in Jiuzhou. That's why her father had insisted she get into his bed at all costs. But she never imagined that Lin Xiao was actually the Dragon Lord. The Dragon Lord, whose wealth could rival nations and whose power could influence the world.

The young woman stared at Lin Xiao in astonishment.

Lin Xiao smiled. "Sorry, I wasn't trying to hide anything. I just didn't think it was worth mentioning, so I never brought it up."

Not worth mentioning? The identity of the Dragon Lord wasn't worth mentioning?

Shao Mei'er was utterly speechless. But a sour feeling suddenly welled up in her heart.

Yes, she was so envious of Su Qingning. Lin Xiao is so powerful, and yet he's still so good to her.

Just then, Shang Tuo chuckled. "The Dragon Lord is truly the Dragon Lord. Such magnanimity is far beyond that of us mere mortals."

Lin Xiao asked with a smile, "Could you be a bit more modest?"

"Of course. Dragon Lord, right this way."

Lin Xiao smiled and strode into Wangjiang Tower. After a few steps, he noticed that Shao Mei'er hadn't followed. He turned and smiled. "Mei'er, what are you waiting for? Come on in!"

Shao Mei'er snapped back to reality and shot Lin Xiao a seductive glance before swiftly entering Wangjiang Tower.

The group of three followed the waiter to the top-floor private room. After Lin Xiao's previous visit, Xiao Shixiong had instructed the staff that whenever Lin Xiao came, he was to be received with the highest possible honors. The waiter, of course, had committed this to memory.

After they were seated, the waiter considerately handed them the menus.

Lin Xiao didn't even look at it. He simply smiled at the waiter and told him, "Just bring us your best dishes."

The waiter respectfully agreed and then retreated.

"What a magnificent view," Shang Tuo commented, standing by the window and gazing at the scenery outside.

Lin Xiao smiled. "It is nice, but Tianshan has a beauty all its own."

"True. I've often heard it said that the water towns of Jiangnan are very nurturing. Seeing it today, I find the reputation is well-deserved."

Lin Xiao nodded and casually asked, "What brings you here this time?"

Shang Tuo turned around and glanced at Shao Mei'er. With a gentle smile, he said, "I mainly came to see Mei'er. We last parted three years ago, and I found myself missing her."

Shang Tuo's smile was exceptionally tender, as was his tone. Shao Mei'er, however, gave no reaction. Or perhaps, it was more accurate to say she was still fixated on Lin Xiao. She still hadn't processed the revelation of his true identity.

How could she? His background was just too terrifying.

Lin Xiao nodded. "It's good for friends to visit. When are you leaving?"

"What? Is the Dragon Lord trying to usher me out already?" Shang Tuo asked with a laugh.

"Don't twist my words. I meant that when you're about to leave, I'd like to treat you to a meal and have a drink with you."

Shang Tuo smiled. "Ah, it seems I was being petty. But rest assured, I'll let you know before I go."

"So, it sounds like you plan on an extended stay. Jinling City is a fine place. You're welcome here."

"Thank you. Oh, by the way, I have something for you," Shang Tuo said with a smile.

"What is it?"

Shang Tuo handed a palm-sized box to Lin Xiao. "It's a gift for Miss Su."

That remark made Lin Xiao's situation clear, proving that Shang Tuo had indeed investigated him thoroughly beforehand.

Lin Xiao smiled. "What is it?"

"Open it and see."

"Alright."

Lin Xiao opened the quaint little box, revealing a large, white, round bead.

"It's carved from Hetian jade, so it's not worth much money. The value is in the fact that I made it myself. I hope it shows my sincerity and that you won't take offense, Dragon Lord."

Lin Xiao closed the box and smiled. "You brought it from so far away; the object itself is not important. On behalf of my wife, thank you."

"Don't mention it."

Just as they were speaking, the tea was served.

"Here, have some tea," Lin Xiao offered with a smile.

Shang Tuo nodded.

After several cups of tea, Shang Tuo smiled and said, "Actually, I came to Jinling City for two reasons. One was to see Mei'er, and the other was to seek refuge with you, Dragon Lord."

"Oh? What do you mean?"

"My master said it's time for me to leave the mountain and gain some worldly experience, but I wasn't sure what to do. I heard you're working as a security guard now, Dragon Lord, and I think that job sounds quite interesting. I was wondering if you could arrange a position for me."

"You wouldn't feel it's beneath you?" Lin Xiao asked with a smile.

"Not at all."

"Alright, then you can start tonight. We're short-staffed anyway."

Shang Tuo smiled. "Then I shall use this tea as wine and toast you, Dragon Lord!"

Lin Xiao didn't stand on ceremony. He clinked teacups with Shang Tuo, and they both drained them in one go.

After drinking tea for a while, Shang Tuo suddenly received a phone call and stood up to take his leave. Lin Xiao escorted him out of the private room.

As they parted, Shang Tuo smiled and said, "I'll find my own way there tonight."

"You're welcome anytime."

Shang Tuo nodded, said goodbye to Shao Mei'er, and then turned to leave.

Shao Mei'er returned to the private room with Lin Xiao. The moment he sat down, the young woman suddenly straddled his lap.

Lin Xiao froze. He was about to speak but saw Shao Mei'er looking at him with a resentful expression.

He asked with a smile, "What's wrong now?"

"Hmph! You have the nerve to ask? You brute, you kept me in the dark for so long!"

"What did I keep from you?"

"You're still playing dumb? You're the Dragon Lord! Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"It doesn't affect our relationship whether I told you or not, right?" Lin Xiao chuckled.

"Then tell me, what is our relationship?"

"We don't have one," Lin Xiao said, his eyes twinkling.

Shao Mei'er responded with a soft punch to his chest. "You brute! You're infuriating! So infuriating!"

"Alright, alright, I'm infuriating. Can you get off me now?"

"Nope! I want to bask in your draconic aura for a bit."

Lin Xiao was speechless. He watched the woman not only wriggle ceaselessly on top of him, but also press herself insistently into his embrace.

Damn it, if she keeps this up, I'm really going to lose control!

It was a well-known fact that Lin Xiao was a pervert—and a vigorous, hot-blooded one at that. Shao Mei'er was a peerless beauty to begin with, and her figure was downright sultry. Faced with her current antics, what man could possibly resist?

Shao Mei'er let out a flirtatious giggle. "You brute... if you can't hold back, then don't. I'm just dying for you to draw your sword!"

"The hell I will! My sword is only for my wife!"

"Don't be like that. I can make you feel just as good, I promise! And I won't tell your wife. If you like a little thrill... we can do it right here, right now."

"Even if my wife never found out, the problem is, I'd have a guilty conscience!" Lin Xiao grumbled.

At those words, Shao Mei'er's expression froze.

The next second, her eyes turned bloodshot, and large tears began to stream down her face.

Lin Xiao was baffled.
