Chapter 55: Who to Choose?

There are many counselors at Jing University, but unless they are from the same faculty, normally, students from other faculties wouldn't know Mo Jingchun's counselor, Li Na.

Additionally, with many graduate students within the campus, most of the onlookers assumed Li Na was a graduate student of the university.

Many were interested in the recruitment by Mo Jingchun, but seeing it was for an intern president position, everyone shook their heads.

A monthly internship salary of 20,000 yuan was very enticing, but you'd need the ability to earn it; otherwise, why would anyone pay you that much a month? Are people running companies out of charity?

There were many onlookers, but very few actually inquired, and most students would linger for just one or two minutes before leaving.

More people were actually drawn by the crowd and, upon finding out it was just a recruitment event, would turn around and leave.

Mo Jingchun sat there, being watched like a monkey for over an hour and, embarrassingly, hadn't received a single resume by then.

As time passed, the number of students having breakfast in the cafeteria didn't decrease; in fact, it increased.

And Mo Jingchun underestimated his peers' ability to spread news on campus!

In just an hour, the news of a 20,000 yuan monthly internship for a president role had spread across various management groups.

Xu Pengfei, who was preparing his graduation thesis, received a call from his tutor.

Seeing the incoming call from his tutor, Xu Pengfei answered without hesitation.

"Teacher, you called me."

A woman's voice came over the phone, sounding like someone in her forties, but Xu Pengfei knew the tutor was already 51 this year.

In a few years, it would be time for her to retire.

"Hmm."

Xu Pengfei couldn't discern the mood from the tutor's tone, making him uneasy so close to graduation.

"I remember you're in the same dorm as Su Hongzhi?"

"Yes, teacher."

"I assume you have resumes. Someone is recruiting an intern president at the Art Garden Cafeteria. Monthly salary is 20,000. You and Su Hongzhi should drop everything and try it out."

With that, Chai Jing added a reminder, "Among those who'll be asking you questions, pay extra attention to a young woman carrying a child. If you get her approval, it's almost a sure thing you'll succeed."

"I checked for you; it's a newly established company. They might not even have a single employee yet, but it's a great opportunity for you."

"That's all I can say. Whether you can seize the opportunity is up to you."

After hanging up with student Xu Pengfei, Chai Jing opened a somewhat blurry photo again, though it was fuzzy, Chai Jing was sure that was the demon queen from the Li Family who became a counselor at Jing University.

This was her main reason for believing the company wasn't a scam.

She wasn't sure if her students could catch Li Na's eye.

"Good luck," Chai Jing shook her head and put the phone aside.

On the other side, Xu Pengfei, still holding his phone, was somewhat bewildered. He quickly realized that his tutor must know some insider information, otherwise, she wouldn't have told him this for no reason.

The words "young woman" and "child" kept floating in Xu Pengfei's mind, causing his heartbeat to unknowingly accelerate, beating rapidly.

Thud, thud, thud~

Xu Pengfei pounded on his roommate's door, shouting, "Su Hongzhi, open up! The tutor says we should take our resumes to the cafeteria for an intern president interview at some company."

"You understand what I mean? It is a very promising kind."

The door opened, and surprisingly different from what Xu Pengfei imagined, his roommate, Su Hongzhi, showed no emotional response, his face completely calm.

Su Hongzhi shook his head and said, "You go ahead. I've made up my mind to return home and won't change my decision."

"Then what was the point of studying all these years, all the way to graduate school? What did you study for?"

After a moment of silence, Su Hongzhi replied, "I don't know. Maybe it was to see a wider world."

"You better go; I want to be left alone."

Usually, Xu Pengfei would tease him with a "who's left alone?" joke.

But given his roommate's impassive expression right now, Xu Pengfei could only watch as his roommate closed the door again.

With no sound coming from the room, Xu Pengfei had to go out alone with his resume.

Seeing the long queue, Mo Jingchun felt both happy and a bit troubled.

"Students, we only accept students who are about to graduate for full-time positions, not internship students facing third-year practical internships."

Mo Jingchun repeated the requirements over and over, and many students with resumes reluctantly left.

In the corner of the cafeteria, Li Na was energetically interviewing one interviewee after another.

Watching the enthusiastic counselor interview there, Mo Jingchun couldn't help but sigh, wondering why it felt like Counselor Na was the actual boss, and he was just a worker.

Arriving late, Xu Pengfei handed over his resume when it was his turn in line. His gaze drifted to the young woman with a child interviewing candidates nearby.

Just like his tutor said, she was indeed very young and quite attractive. Xu Pengfei even suspected she might be younger than he was.

"Oh? A third-year master's student in Business Administration?"

Receiving a postgraduate's resume, Mo Jingchun had never had it happen before.

"Yes, while completing my thesis, I'm also looking for a job," Xu Pengfei politely responded to Mo Jingchun's question.

Mo Jingchun nodded and smiled at Xu Pengfei, "Take your resume over for the interview."

"Alright, thank you."

All morning, Mo Jingchun had lost count of how many students he sent to the counselor for an interview. It was easily over a hundred people. Frighteningly, the counselor seemed tireless, as if she'd become addicted.

Some stayed, while others left regretfully after being interviewed by Counselor Na, clearly having been eliminated on the spot by her.

When Mo Jingchun walked over to Counselor Na with the recruitment sign, Candy eagerly reached out wanting to be picked up by Mo Jingchun.

With heavy clothes, the little one could only wave her arms, unable to clasp hands together.

After taking his sister, Candy, Mo Jingchun observed the ten interviewees who remained, both men and women, though predominantly women.

"These are the ones I ultimately selected. In your company, to be honest, any of them would do."

Mo Jingchun shrugged, unable to argue. After all, the company currently had no employees, so indeed anyone would suffice!

Yet Mo Jingchun needed not just a decorative figure but someone capable of handling production outsourcing for the smart anti-shake spoon and resolving sales logistics independently when given autonomy.

"He's the boss. Among you ten, only one can stay, and the final decision is his to make."

Having said that, Li Na retreated behind student Mo Jingchun.
