Lin Xuan Qi was eager to see what the Daoist Five-Element Cultivation Techniques was about.
He went back into his room, closed the door, and took out the manuscript from his sleeve pocket.
After taking a seat, he flipped it open and read the first page of the manuscript.
'The Daoist Five-Element Cultivation Techniques allows any mortal to achieve immortality through the Five-Element Qi'
What? Am I seeing things? He thought with astonishment when he saw what was written on the first page.
Allows any mortal to achieve immortality with it?
Thinking about what it meant, he got excited immediately.
Someone without any Spirit Root would be able to cultivate with the manuscript.
He flipped to the next page and there was more written about the Five-Element Qi.
Instead of cultivating with the Spirit Qi which was rare and required you to have a Spirit Root to sense and take in the Spirit Qi for cultivation, the technique in the manuscript utilized the Five-Element Qi.
If what is written in the manuscript is correct, Five-Element Qi was abundant everywhere.
He read on and saw that the initial stage for the technique was very much like any other martial arts technique.
It was to prepare the body and dantian for accepting the Five-Element Qi.
Eager to try it out, Lin Xuan Qi moved to his bed and sat on it in a lotus position.
He closed his eyes and tried to direct whatever Five-Element Qi he could sense in the air.
Moments passed but he felt nothing in the surroundings.
Beads of sweat appeared on his forehead, and he opened his eyes to take a break.
There must be something that he had missed out on.
He flipped the manuscript and reread the initial pages.
"I will need to be able to master this. It would be able to bring the Clan to the next level." He mumbled to himself while he did so.
Words appeared in his mind in the next moment.
[Detected host trying to practice cultivation to upgrade the Clan to a Cultivation Clan.]
[Reward of accelerated learning for cultivation within the compound of the mansion delivered.]
After the words appeared, his mind became clearer.
The words he was reading started to have context, and things made more sense to him than earlier.
"So that's why..." He gave out a sigh.
His Qi in his dantian that he had accumulated from learning the other martial arts earlier was incompatible with the Five-Element Qi.
Lin Xuan Qi started to try and exhaust the Qi he had in his dantian.
He drew it out from the dantian, making it circulate through his body.
Intense heat emitted from his body while he did so.
White mist rose from his body and head with the water vapor in the air being evaporated.
Thankfully, he didn't practice martial arts for that long, and he didn't have that much Qi to exhaust.
It took a short while to do so and immediately all the energy left his body.
Lin Xuan Qi started to breathe in according to the Daoist Five-Element Cultivation Techniques.
It required him to draw focus on his major organs, each signifying a different element.
The heart for fire, liver for wood, spleen for earth, lungs for metal, and kidneys for water.
Soon, he began to sense something in the surroundings.
It was the Five-Element Qi.
However, his body wasn't conditioned enough, and he could only sense it, unable to draw it into his body.
Finally, he had to stop.
Lin Xuan Qi wanted to lie down on his bed due to his energy being expended.
He had to condition his body first.
Flipping further into the manual, he saw the practice routine to do so.
But that would have to wait.
The aroma of food that filled the air made him hungry, and he had to replenish his energy.
"Master Lin, time for dinner." Xue Cong's voice sounded behind the door.
"Coming..." He stood up from his bed after some struggle.
When he opened the door, Xue Cong was surprised to see his face pale from the exhaustion.
She got worried and said, "Master Lin, what happened? Do you need me to call the doctor here for a visit?"
He waved his hand at her and said, "I'm just hungry from all the work today."
"Then... let me help you walk to the dining hall." Xue Cong was worried and offered to help him.
"Fine, I guess." He didn't think much and wrapped his hand over her shoulder.
Xue Cong lowered her head and felt a sense of bliss.
It had been a long while since Lin Xuan Qi was so close to her.
His surprisingly well-built body gave her a sense of security.
They walked towards the dining hall slowly and when they had to walk up a flight of stairs, she wrapped her hand around his waist to help him.
"Thanks." Lin Xuan Qi said and stole a glance at her.
She was looking at the ground throughout the journey from her shyness, so she didn't realize that he was looking at her.
The warm evening sun, shining onto Xue Cong gave her a golden halo.
He hadn't had such a close look at her for quite some time.
Maybe I should...
Lin Xuan Qi's thoughts stopped as they'd arrived at the dining hall.
"What happened?" Lee He Song asked when he saw Xue Cong helping Lin Xuan Qi walk.
He was worried that Lin Xuan Qi might have been ill.
"It's all right. I'm just exhausted from all the work today. After the soap business is stabilized I should be able to have more rest."
Lin Xuan Qi said while Lee He Song came over to help him.
Xue Cong reluctantly let go of her hand from his waist and felt a tinge of longing for more of his embrace.
She gave a sigh to herself silently and got back to work.
With the help of Lee He Song, Lin Xuan Qi sat down on a seat and started to feast on the food.
Lee He Song was glad to see him enjoying his food as usual.
That would mean that Master Lin was just exhausted as he had said.
"What are you... waiting for... tuck in...." Lin Xuan Qi stopped and said when he realized that everyone was looking at him eat, out of concern for him.
