"What do you mean by that?" Liu Shi Shi asked with a perturbed look.
"Someone is trying to wreak havoc during Lee Zhen Ren's birthday celebrations and it's already happening with the prison breached."
Lin Xuan Qi explained.
"Prison? Then, Lee He Song..." Liu Shi Shi glanced in the direction of the prison.
She saw Lee He Song leave but didn't think much about it.
Liu Shi Shi wanted to try and go help her friend.
They were friends when she was still wandering around the land, and he had helped her to get this job.
Most importantly, she got to know Lin Xuan Qi from Lee He Song.
Lin Xuan Qi pressed his hands onto her and said, "Don't go. It's not what he wanted."
Liu Shi Shi lowered her head and sighed.
It was something that Lee He Song would do.
He had always rather risked his own life than others'.
"I need you to get everyone to safety if anything happens." Lin Xuan Qi said.
Liu Shi Shi nodded her head.
"Remember, let me handle the rest." Lin Xuan Qi continued and said.
"But what about you?" Liu Shi Shi didn't expect him to say that and shook her head.
Maybe Xue Cong was right; he was always trying to shoulder everything by himself.
"I can't allow that. My job is to keep you safe." She protested.
Lin Xuan Qi smiled at her and began to recite the rules.
"Rule no.1 of Lin Clan. Never go against the orders from the head of the Clan."
She rolled her eyes at him and said, "Fine. I shall get them out of danger."
But Liu Shi Shi wasn't going to let him risk his life unnecessarily again.
She was willing to break the rules to make sure nothing happens to him.
However, unknown to her, Lin Xuan Qi meant it.
It would be easier for him if there weren't any other people around him.
"Come, let's get back to the pavilion. Better not get the others worried." He said and led Liu Shi Shi back to the garden.
...
In the Northeast corner of the city.
The army camp in this corner of the city stood alone without many buildings in the vicinity.
"Kill him!"
"Help, it's not working."
"Quick, someone call for help."
Inside the square, which was in the middle of the camp, soldiers were in a panic.
Two half-man and half-beast creatures stood back-to-back with each other.
One of them held a soldier above its head, with its claws.
The blood from the soldier rained down onto its head.
The creature whose face was now more like a wolf's, with only one of its eyes and cheeks like a human's, feasted on the blood of the soldier.
Another soldier tried to thrust his spear into its waist.
Thud.
The spear broke into halves upon impact, unable to penetrate the body of the wolflike creature.
It angered the wolflike creature, and the wolflike creature swiped its claws at the soldier.
A few slicing waves shot out from the claws and came towards the soldier.
The soldier's armor with inscriptions that were carved onto it gave out a bright red glow.
However, it was not enough to withstand the slicing wave from the wolflike creature.
Splatter.
The soldier was sliced into many vertical pieces and dropped to the ground.
Blood, innards, and bones were strewn all over the ground.
The sight of it made the soldiers who were nearby gag.
They had never witnessed such a scene.
Meanwhile, the other half-man and half-beast creature started to stomp onto the ground with its huge feet.
The ground and soil shook from the impact, revealing what was underneath.
There were some inscriptions in red and a black pillar item underneath.
"It is trying to destroy the Formation Array of the City!"
"Stop it!"
"Where are the cultivators!"
The captain in charge of the army camp shouted and drew out his sword.
He knew what would happen if this part of the Formation Array was destroyed.
Forces waiting outside would be able to get through the defense of Hong Feng City.
"Captain, I think the cultivators might not be coming!" One of the soldiers shouted.
That sank the hearts of all the soldiers still alive.
They realized that the cultivators might be at the birthday celebrations.
And news of this surprise attack might not have reached them.
"Soldiers, the time is now! Perform your duty as soldiers of the Da Qian Dynasty!" The captain shouted and charged at the creatures.
His close guards glanced at each other for a moment.
They hesitated before deciding to follow his charge.
The wolflike creature swiped its claws at them.
Whoosh.
Slicing waves came at the captain and his close guards.
The captain's armor gave out a white glow and engulfed his body.
Crack.
The slicing waves that came into contact with the white glow could only cause a few hairline cracks on the white glow.
The captain narrowed his eyes, held his sword with both his hands and prepared to lunge at the wolflike creature.
Plop.
But all around him, he heard the sound of bodies hitting the ground.
His close guards and the other soldiers weren't as lucky as he was.
Thud.
The creature with huge feet gave a kick to the white glow.
It was devastating.
The white glow from his armor cracked into pieces and after the pieces fell onto the ground, they dissipated.
Roar!
The wolflike creature gave out a roar and lunged at the captain.
It was ready to slice the captain into pieces, but a sense of danger came into its mind.
The wolflike creature tried to stop itself.
Splatter.
A white glow in the form of a sword came from above and ripped through its body.
Blood, flesh and bones splattered as the twirling wind bore its way through.
The wolflike creature fell onto the ground, inches before the captain.
It looked up and tried to use its claws to claw at the captain.
Crunch.
Someone stomped onto the head of the wolflike creature and crushed its head.
The bones cracked and the white matter with blood spilled onto the captain.
By now, the captain was on the ground from the shock.
