Lee Yi Hong walked up to a greasy plump merchant and held onto the merchant's neck.

"What...the Governor...I don't..." The plump merchant felt Lee Yi Hong's fingers gripping tighter onto his neck, making him gasp for air.

Lee Yi Hong let go of the plump merchant and wiped his hand on his robe.

Lee Yi Hong didn't wait and threw his folded fan at Chen Wei's face.

It took Chen Wei by surprise and smashed into the right cheek of Chen Wei.

Crack.

The impact from the fan caused Chen Wei's cheekbone to fracture, giving out a loud crack.

His face also turned sideways from the force.

Making use of this opportunity, Lee Yi Hong leaped and lunged at Chen Wei with his palm.

The air froze when a chilling white glow engulfed the palms of Lee Yi Hong.

When his palms landed onto Chen Wei's chest, his clothes were frozen stiff, and ice could be seen on the surface.

Lee Yi Hong pulled back his arms and turned his palms into fists.

He threw out his punches at where he had hit Chen Wei earlier.

The frozen chest of Chen Wei was blown into pieces by his punches.

Lee Yi Hong then gave a frontal kick at Chen Wei, sending him hurtling back into the room.

Dust and debris could be seen inside the room when Chen Wei landed.

"Argh..."

Chen Wei tried to get up, but his wounds were too serious for him to do so.

His body tried to regenerate but stopped after a while.

He didn't have any Qi left to do so, and he lay motionless afterwards.

"Who are you? Don't you know it's an offence to murder an imperial official?" The Governor pointed at Lee Yi Hong.

Lee Yi Hong only smirked at him and raised his palms at him.

"You don't have to do this.

"Tell me your grievances and I'll try to settle them for you.

"I know some of the officials are corrupted souls but I need time to apprehend them....

"These men are intertwined together with their businesses, families and clans.

"Give me time and I'll get it done."

The Governor begged for his life in any way he could.

But it was to no avail.

Lee Yi Hong wasn't too interested in what the Governor was saying.

"The Dark Lord has other plans." He said with a smirk.

He pulled out a pendant from his sleeve pocket and directed his Qi into it.

The pendant gave out a green glow, and the glow extended out.

It shot into Lee Yi Hong's forehead and disappeared.

The Governor opened his mouth, not knowing what was happening.

He thought that he would be killed by Lee Yi Hong with it, but it didn't happen.

Maybe it was an opportunity to run?

There was only one way to find out for him, and the Governor decided to take flight.

He stood up and tried to run but something or someone came into his mind instead.

"Argh...Stop..." The Governor screamed out in pain trying to keep his consciousness.

The intruder didn't stop but increased the intensity instead.

Slowly, bits of his mind were taken over.

First, he couldn't feel his feet.

Then, he lost control of his legs.

And soon, the Governor wasn't able to feel his body anymore.

"Get out!" The Governor could only scream inside his mind.

No one answered him.

And within moments, his last remaining consciousness went away.

Lee Yi Hong's body dropped to the ground.

The 'Governor' gave out a sigh looking at his old body and he came up to it to have a last look.

Lee Yi Hong had used the artifact to possess the body of the Governor, a feat that only cultivators at Nascent Soul Level could normally achieve.

But with the artifact from the Dark Lord, he was able to do so and take control of Hong Feng City from within.

This was part of the Dark Lord's plan when their forceful takeover of the city failed.

Unknown to them all, Lin Xuan Qi killed Yuan Kai, changing the course of history.
