Clan Prosperity Starting With My Servant Girls

Chapter 232: Hun Xiong Kun's Time to Shine

Hun Xiong Kun couldn't help himself but grinned after reading the letter.

Master Su wanted to sell him the stock of rice he had, at half the price of what Hun Xiong Kun was selling.

And on the condition that Hun Xiong Kun keeps it a secret.

It was just as Lin Xuan Qi had predicted they would be doing when the heat is on them.

"Tell your Master to send the rice over." He replied to Master Su's man.

Hun Xiong Kun didn't mind since it meant more profit for him.

"I will get it done." Master Su's man bowed at him and left hurriedly.

Other men from the other rice merchants stopped when they saw Master Su's man leave the rice store.

They knew that Master Su had succeeded, and they quickly tried to approach Hun Xiong Kun.

"Master Hun, my master has a message for you!"

"No, listen to my master's offer first!"

"Their masters aren't sincere, remember how they had ganged up together on you."

All of them jostled for a meeting with Hun Xiong Kun but were stopped by Hun Xiong Kun's guards.

"Let them in one by one." Hun Xiong Kun frowned at his sudden popularity and said.

His guards let in one of them and the man said, "My master is willing to sell his rice supply to you for less than what Master Su is asking for."

The man's master had gotten his rice supplies at a lower price and was able to ask for less, trying to get in front of the other rice merchants.

Some of the other men still waiting shook their heads and decided to have a change of plan.

They turned around and scurried away to update their masters of what had happened.

Hun Xiong Kun saw it, but he didn't mind them at all.

His storage area would be full after he got the rice supplies from the two rice merchants anyway.

He agreed to the deal with the man in front of him and the man also left.

After that he went to the entrance of his rice store and shouted, "Do not worry.

"As promised, there would be an increase in rice supplies today.

"Everyone can buy a maximum of ten kilograms from now on."

The news was godsend to those queuing outside.

It meant that the price would be stable and maybe fall soon.

Many of them gave out a sigh of relief and tried to get to the front of the queue.

"Finally, it would be over."

"I thought that we would not make it for this autumn."

"Yes, with the cold weather coming, it's certain death for all of us if we don't have food."

They lamented what had happened and how it was just in time for them to tide over the autumn and winter.

"Next!" Hun Xiong Kun shouted, and the next buyer of the rice entered his rice store.

Meanwhile, it was chaos in the Rice Merchant Association.

The rice merchants' men had returned and updated what had happened.

They stared at Master Su and cursed him silently after they knew what he had done.

Master Su had sold his rice to Hun Xiong Kun instead of his own rice stores so that they couldn't blame him for the eventual fall of the price.

And since Master Su had begun his dirty tricks, he couldn't blame them for doing what was necessary for them.

They glanced at each other and nodded their heads.

Their men were then dispatched out again.

And this time they would be selling their rice at their own rice stores.

Might as well break the pretense and be on the good side of the Governor and try to get a seat on the committee.

"Where are your men going!" Master Su shouted and tried to stop them but the other rice merchants ignored him.

"What do you think you are doing?" When Master Su's men tried to stop their men, they got into a tussle.

Fists were thrown around, and teacups were even sent hurtling through the air.

It was a matter of life and death for their families if they couldn't sell the rice at a good price.

Everyone wants to be first to be able to set the price instead of being behind and after the price had gone way down.

"How dare you Seng!" Master Su shouted when one of the rice merchants grabbed onto his arm and gave him a bite.

The pain forced Master Su to release his hold he had on the rice merchant's man.

"Run, you fool!" The rice merchant shouted at his man and his man quickly ran as fast as he could.

Other men of the rice merchants also broke free from Master Su's men and they fled together.

Some of the rice merchants slumped down from where they were when they thought about what might happen if they weren't fast enough to sell off the stock of rice they had.

Master Su gave a kick at the groin of the rice merchant that was biting on his arm, and it made the rice merchant kneel in pain.

"Damn it!" He cursed and glanced at the men that had exited the Rice Merchant Association.

There was nothing much he could do now and all they could do was wait for the market to react.

News of the increase in rice supplies had spread and more had queued at Hun Xiong Kun's rice store to buy rice.

And when the queue got so long it stretched along two streets, many got impatient for fear that they couldn't get the rice they wanted.

Men from the other rice merchants took the opportunity and spread their good news.

"We have gotten our rice supplies too.

"The price would be the same as what Chang Fu Rice Store is selling."

Many in the queue didn't want to give their business to them as they knew that these rice merchants had the rice all along, but they've accumulated it to make the price of rice go up.

But when they saw the long queue and flaring tempers, they had no choice but to accept the offer from the rice merchants' men reluctantly.
