Outside the room of Xue Cong.

Lin Xuan Qi stood outside the door, raised his hand, and knocked on it.

He had learned his lesson this time.

Inside the room, Mei Jiao and Old Shao were by the bed of Xue Cong.

Mei Jiao had a cup of warm water in her hand, with white steam rising from it.

Beside Mei Jiao, Old Shao was asking Xue Cong whether she was feeling unwell.

They stopped when they saw Lin Xuan Qi enter the room.

"Master Lin."

Xue Cong tried to sit up on her bed, but Lin Xuan Qi raised his hand and flagged it down, gesturing for her to lay on her bed.

He walked towards her and stopped by the side of her bed.

"Master Lin, is it... settled?" Mei Jiao asked with her eyebrows locked.

Lin Xuan Qi gave out a sigh, glanced at her and said, "It's settled. Those thugs would not dare to seek trouble with us anymore.

"And I will try and help Xue Cong recover."

Mei Jiao nodded and she looked at Old Shao.

Old Shao held onto his wife's hand and gave out a sigh of relief.

They then looked at Xue Cong who was lying on the bed.

She had not rejected them coming over to check on her, and it was a consolation for them.

An opportunity for them to mend their relationship with her.

"Are you feeling better? Let me know if you need help." Lin Xuan Qi glanced at her and said.

Xue Cong shook her head and replied, "I feel great after taking the Restoration Pill."

She recalled how he was full of rage when he saw what Zhu Di did to them and Zhi Yong.

She had never thought he could be staring at someone with his bloodshot eyes.

Mei Jiao and Old Shao frowned when they saw her doing so, and they said to her, "Xue Cong, are you all right? What are you thinking about?"

Lin Xuan Qi was also concerned about her.

"Nothing... nothing happened. I'm just tired." Xue Cong quickly cooked up an excuse.

After what had happened, she no longer thought much about her status as a servant girl compared to him.

Even if it was one-sided, she was more than happy to do so.

Not knowing what was going through her mind, Lin Xuan Qi shrugged and said, "I need to check on Yue Jie and Yue Xin. Rest well for the next few days."

"Yes, Master Lin." She nodded and replied.

He glanced at Mei Jiao and Old Shao and said, "Then, I shall leave her to your care."

Both nodded and replied, "Definitely. She is our daughter after all."

Lin Xuan Qi turned around and left the room.

He arrived outside the room of Yue Jie and Yue Xin within a few moments as the room wasn't too far away from Xue Cong's.

Raising his hand to knock on the door, he stopped when the door suddenly opened.

It was Yue Xin.

Her eyes opened wide with excitement when she saw him.

"Master Lin, come in quick." Yue Xin didn't think much about it and invited him into the room.

"Yue Xin, wait! No! Master Lin..." Yue Jie panicked and she tried to clear up the room.

They had just changed out from their bloodied cloth, and it was messy inside the room.

Yue Jie nodded at Lin Xuan Qi with an apologetic look and said, "It's a bit of a mess. I promise you that it's not like this usually."

She said and gave Yue Xin a stare.

Yue Xin realized what she had done.

Her eyes darted around for a moment before she closed the door and led Lin Xuan Qi to a seat by the table.

"Master Lin, how did you get so powerful to be able to defeat that man?" She diverted the topic and asked what she had been thinking about.

Lin Xuan Qi sat down and thought for a moment.

Yue Xin quickly poured him a cup of tea while he did so.

He came up with an excuse a moment later and he said, "Master Sima Long had given me some powerful Artifact that helped me to defeat the man."

Yue Xin didn't think twice before believing him and she mumbled to herself, "Artifact..."

She was thinking of getting one.

If it was so good, then she would have a shot at revenge for her father if she had one too.

"It's expensive and invaluable. Master Sima Long had lent it to me due to our business venture, so don't you go thinking about getting one."

He added on to stop her from having ideas.

After checking her summary through the system, he knew that she was always thinking about revenge for her father.

"What..." Yue Xin was visibly disappointed when she heard it.

She lowered her head and her hands held tightly onto the side of her blouse.

"I suppose you have fully recovered from the look of things." He said.
