"Have a seat," Lin Xuan Qi stretched out his hands at the seats that were by the side of the main hall.
Sima Long and Zhang Jie walked over and sat down.
Without any prompting, Ah Di took the initiative and helped to pour tea for them.
Xue Cong, Yue Jie, and Yue Xin were all busy in the kitchen, and there was no one else around.
"I see that your mansion is still as calm and quiet," Sima Long said.
Lin Xuan Qi wanted to roll his eyes at what Sima Long had said.
Beating around the bush wasn't his style, especially with someone he considered to be his friend and ally.
He shook his head and replied, "Just say that it's pretty empty. I am in the process of seeking more help after what happened."
Sima Long nodded his head at Lin Xuan Qi.
"Ahem," Zhang Jie cleared her throat.
Sima Long gave him an awkward smile and glanced over at Zhang Jie.
Picking up the teacup, Sima Long had a sip of tea, and he kept quiet.
"Now, what do you mean by giving you troubles?"
Lin Xuan Qi saw their interaction and came to Sima Long's rescue.
"You don't know what you've done, huh?" Zhang Jie gave out a sigh and said, "All my sisters and friends are clamoring for more of the soap every day.
"It's been a long while since I had peace and quiet.
"They are definitely getting on my nerves lately."
He gave a long sigh and briefed them on what he had done so far.
Sima Long nodded his head while he listened.
Never had he thought that setting up a business was this tough.
His wife, Zhang Jie, on the other hand, came from a rich merchant family, and it was familiar to her.
She was more than impressed with the thought process and execution powers of Lin Xuan Qi.
Giving out a sigh, she gave Sima Long a side eye as she thought silently to herself, if only her husband was as capable as Lin Xuan Qi.
"How can we help? Feel free to let us know," Sima Long and Zhang Jie said in unison after hearing Lin Xuan Qi's brief.
"Help?" Lin Xuan Qi hadn't thought about seeking help until now.
He was too focused on getting things up and running.
Since Sima Long was also part of the business, it wouldn't be an issue if Sima Long chipped in with help other than the initial investments and properties.
He thought for a moment and said, "I need someone who can provide high quality oil layered paper or maybe wooden boxes.
"It would be used for the final packaging of the soap.
"And I would need some ironsmiths to forge equipment that's required."
The materials for packaging hadn't been sourced.
It would save him much time and effort if they could help him with getting the packaging materials.
"That's not an issue. My family has business with suppliers that deal with oil layered paper and wooden boxes," Zhang Jie replied.
He glanced over at Sima Long as it meant that Sima Long's family would be involved in a part of the business.
Having witnessed Zhang Jie's ability to build up hype, he wouldn't mind having her help with it.
But he wouldn't be sure if Sima Long was agreeable to it.
Sima Long tilted his head and gave him a smile.
"Thanks. I shall give you the dimensions and what type of oil layered paper I need later," he said.
Zhang Jie nodded her head and said, "I shall get it done as soon as possible."
She glanced over at her husband.
Sima Long quickly said, "I guess you've forgotten what the Sima Family is known for.
"Our business deals with forging Artifacts for all the sects.
"We've got the best ironsmiths in Da Qian Dynasty, I must say.
"I will get ten of them to help you.
"Would that be enough?"
"That would be great to help me get things going."
Lin Xuan Qi picked up his teacup and proposed a toast to Sima Long and Zhang Jie.
They returned the toast and drank the cup of tea they had.
With business out of the way, it was time for some casual chitchat.
"My husband told me that you are still single. Just in case you are looking for someone, I've got some sisters and close friends who are looking for a husband..." Zhang Jie said.
He nearly spat out the tea he had in his mouth.
Lin Xuan Qi wanted to give her the excuse that he was still young but realized that those in Da Qian Dynasty married young.
He was the odd one out instead.
"I'm more focused on my career at the moment," he gave her an awkward smile and said.
"It's all right, I can understand that. Sometimes I wish my husband could be as career focused as you."
"What do you mean? I'm his business partner, hence I'm as career focused as he is," Sima Long protested and said.
He quickly kept his mouth shut when the cold gaze from Zhang Jie landed on him.
Lin Xuan Qi came to his rescue again and said, "As the saying goes, comparison is the thief of joy.
"Everyone is unique in their own ways."
Zhang Jie gave out a long sigh and said, "If only he could talk like you. He is only good for making me angry whenever he opens his mouth."
"What?" Sima Long shrugged and said, "Have you heard the poems Master Lin can come up with?"
"How deep the sorrow hearts must know?
"As endless rivers eastward flow."
Zhang Jie recited the lines from the poem that she had gotten to know from Sima Long.
She looked out into the distance melancholically as she did so.
It was also popular among her circle of young mistresses, and every one of them was clamoring to know who was behind it.
All that they could gather was that it came from a good-looking young master.
An idea struck him when Zhang Jie did so.
