Overpowered Awakening: I Became Invincible With A Broken Talent

Chapter 148: Newcomer (1)

Marlon realized it quickly.

That Draven was not ordinary.

His powers were not human at all.

An ability that allowed the user to obtain the skills of the person they ate.

Now that he thought about it, it was no longer confusing how Draven was able to use earth affinity skills, an ability similar to fear, and the one he used to torture the White Giant, which should have been a blood affinity skill.

How did he obtain such a power?

Marlon wondered.

But while he was still thinking to himself, Draven observed the new changes in his body with a blank expression on his face.

A normal person would have been thrilled with a new skill added to their arsenal, especially one so flashy, considering Draven was still a teenager and cool things usually triggered excitement in people his age.

But Draven's emotions had all been numbed, both the good and the bad ones. As a result, he felt neutral toward such changes.

After observing himself for a short while and ignoring the confused expressions around him, Draven turned his gaze toward the shivering Leon brothers.

The gangsters, comprised of men ranging from young adults to middle-aged men, began to shiver even more intensely.

A few of them lost control of their bladders, peeing themselves, while a smaller few soiled their pants.

It was a humiliating reaction, but given their situation, it was worth it.

Draven observed them for a few seconds before strolling toward them.

"I don't have the intention to kill any of you."

He said in a chilly tone.

The gangsters heaved sighs of relief, as though the hope of survival had finally appeared.

But that hope soon shattered.

"Take me to the Big Leons."

It was a simple request compared to their lives.

If they had control over everything, they would have definitely answered him rather than allow him to kill them.

But the problem was—

"W-we can't tell you."

It was impossible.

Draven frowned slightly and let out a disappointed hum.

Then he strolled closer.

The gangster who had responded shivered and immediately explained the reason for their refusal.

"We were all made to swear a blood oath before joining the gang. If we reveal any information about the Big Leons, we die."

That made sense.

Draven now understood why the hundreds of Leon brothers he had slain so far had refused to budge.

They had been forced to choose between dying as loyal members or dying as cowards.

But that was then.

He returned his attention to the one who had spoken.

"You'll speak after I am done killing your comrades."

The young gangster shivered violently.

Draven ignored him.

He waved his hand into the air, and several ice spikes materialized in midair. They were sharper and longer than usual, and as they appeared, the atmosphere turned chilling, like the onset of winter.

Without any restriction, he released the barrage of ice spikes.

Hundreds of icy projectiles darted through the air, and what followed were screams of pain, growing louder and louder as more Leon brothers were slaughtered.

"He's using ice now?"

This time, it was not only Marlon who was surprised.

Sandra and the other hunters were as well.

It was extremely rare for someone to wield more than one element. Only one in ten million people could use two elements.

As for three elements, the ratio was even more overwhelming.

And yet this kid had already used four elements so far, including the light affinity muscle enhancement he had obtained right before their eyes.

They watched as dozens of gangsters fell to their deaths, each of them wearing different expressions.

Clarissa strolled up beside Marlon.

"Shouldn't we stop him?" she asked in a worried tone.

While she did not care about the Leon brothers, witnessing such a large-scale massacre was still unusual.

"Not now."

Marlon responded without taking his eyes off Draven.

Clarissa's expression turned solemn, but she did not push further.

As for Marlon, he continued observing Draven, not because he was amazed, but because he had noticed that something was off.

It started from the very beginning, when he used Inspect on him.

Normally, a human's stats would reveal their power levels, power ranks, skills, and sometimes even their blessing, if they had one.

But Draven—

It had only revealed his name, race, threat level, and talent.

The others were fairly common and not entirely unusual for a human, but the one that stood out was the threat level.

Threat level only appeared when Inspect was used on monsters.

The same thing had also appeared when he used Inspect on the Lunaris.

Marlon had momentarily ignored this at the beginning because he had been too focused on Draven's rather odd appearance and terrifying talent.

He had also pushed aside the earlier suspicion that the aura surrounding Draven felt somewhat similar to that of the Lunaris.

But after witnessing everything from his temperament to the inhuman nature of his talent, he realised he was wrong.

Very wrong.

This guy...

He had to be comprehended and questioned.

It is crucial.

And who else to do the policing than him?

"Stop.."

Marlon stepped forward and roared, his voice cutting through the cries that filled the area.

The hunters and the black brothers all turned to look at him, baffled.

What was he planning to do? They wondered.

The ice spikes darting through the air halted as Draven turned to look at him with a somewhat confused expression.

"What?"

He asked in a monotonous voice, seemingly pissed.

Marlon stepped forward, taking long strides forward with a firm expression on his face.

"Do you want to save this people? After hearing all they've done?"

Draven asked.

"I do not care about them, nor their past deeds."

Marlon responded, stepping even closer.

"Then what?" Draven was even more confused.

Earlier he held a little respect for Marlon because he let him have white giant, but now that he was obstructing his mission, the respect vanished, replaced by anger.

"You're coming me to the hunter association."
